I think it has interesting writing, characters, and world building but I think the actual game itself was dogshit on launch. Still worth playing through for all of it's strong qualities.

I've genuinely never felt compelled to. It just seems to usually be some sort of random skin,or straight up cheats by early unlocking weapons. Like, I wouldn't want to start RE2 Remake with infinite ammo weapons on my first playthrough even if it was given for free.
Maybe I'm too much of an old boomer these days compared to the current generation, but something seems wild to me about not just having cosmetics be a part of the game. Like, how far have we fallen that instead of playing a game for fun, you play it to spend money and show off the money you spent over people who are poorer than you? Are you even playing a game or just flashing money at the homeless and getting a boner over the power trip?

I mean sure, but we do have the choice to continue going with a system that we know makes people vulnerable or not, right? Like presenting gambling to kids, you could say it's their fault for being dumbasses and not just stopping it since it's just pixels on a screen, but if nobody ever steps in, why would anyone stop exploiting the kids?
