Measure the power consumption and compare it to the real deal. If it's a reproduction that even uses the same components, it basically is real anyways
if you can't tell the difference then does it really matter? the only way you're going to know for sure is if you destroy it by opening it.

Yes, that's real. Embossed down arrow, matching product code, correct font and label. Also, Conta 4 is a relatively obscure game. You'll encounter more fakes on more popular titles, like Pokemon.
This is a good resource for looking at authentic versions and fakes. Search for a game and just scroll.

Normally a reproduction has some form of identification, but don't be so afraid that your copies are inauthentic that it dissuades you from considering them actually authentic.

Contra 4 was dope but I cant play on emulator it feels terrible no matter what I try to do with the screens
looks real to me based on the picture. None of the typical red flags of a reproduction. This isn't even that rare of a game, so it seems unlikely someone would make an extremely convincing reproduction
I saw a 500 fricking dollar listing for a sealed copy. I'm running into a similar issue hunting down a copy of Last Window: The Secret of Cape West. Nothing under $140. I hate "rare" game sellers

The easiest way to tell if it's a bootleg or not for the DS is look at the top side of the cart (I.E. the part not in the picture)
Real carts have indentations, fakes will be totally smooth.
You'll have to maneuver it through the light since just directly looking at it hides the markings.
If it's totally smooth across, it's a fake.
Sometimes I forget how expensive Chrono Trigger and Contra 4 are. These people are mentally ill. DS carts are not worth that much.
