thinkin of getting a Series S. Haven't had an Xbox since 360 but it's cheap and Gamepass sounds nice
Any Series S chads here? Decent Next Gen option?

It's really a console for søyboys.
it's small and doesn't take up much room, I like that
I'm seeing prices for the s around $250 since they announced the 1tb version seems good Sargent.
If you are a verizon customer you can get series s for 150 dollars.
shows 299 for me
it's pretty fricking sweet
It is exactly what it says it is. Check out game pass on the PC if you have one.
It's really cheap but the aftermarket parts aren't. Gamepass is also on PC so it'd be better to spend $200 to upgrade your PC than buying this thing, unless you really want to play on the couch.
what if to upgrade he would have to spend 600? or 1000? with the info we have buying the console is the smartest option
RX 6600 is only $200 brand new. You could also go with used parts and get a 1660 Super for a little more than $100.
Thing is great and actually looks like a console. I mostly use it for Gamepass and older titles.
anon - MAKE SURE YOU DO THE GAME PASS DISCOUNT TRICK
step 0 - let xbox gold and game pass lapse if you have any sub for either
step 1 - buy x years of xbox gold (costco has xbox funbucks on sale - $80 for $100 worth, so you can get 3 years and change with that)
step 2 - activate a 1 month card of game pass ultimate
step 3 - it'll convert all the xbox gold time to game pass ultimate at a 1:1 ratio instead of 3:1
Wow it's actually real too. Based anon, I'm definitely doing this
no prob anon, I expect that when activision blizzard is added to game pass it'll get a huge spike in value, so I did 3 years when I did it last
And by playing on gamepass you get Microsoft Rewards points that you can use to get more Gamepass for free. A month is 10,500 points if you do the continuous redemption/3 months at a time. I average 15,000 to 20,000 points a month so I haven't spent money on gamepass since the first month I got for $1
Can't resell digital purchases if you don't like them. Go with the X.
But with game pass you can just delete it and move on to the next game
I've been thinking of getting an X, the specs are pretty decent for the price and I wanna play games like Elden Ring on high settings. Plus Starfield is Xbox exclusive, and i could also play the persona 3 remake on it when it comes out. Gamepass seems cool but I mostly want it for the controller which I like better than the dualschock 5
I want to get the Series X too, but I feel like we're due for an Xbox Series XXX or something, like the PS4 Pro or Xbox One X (GREAT NAMING FRICKERS), and I have a good gaming PC so I can wait it out.
If I see a $150 xbox series S on sale though ill pick that shit up since it'd save me $50 on an extra controller later making the console itself just $100
>Next Gen
the only console if you want next gen console exclusives is ps5
only viable if you like movie game slop but you do your thing
I was gonna get a PS5 but the only thing it has is FFXVI, 7R, and Spiderman 2
Spiderman PS4 was fun but never finished it. Didn't like 7R and don't really care for 16 rn. I dunno
I own two X's (one for my house and the other for my office) I also own two PS5's for the same reason but I hardly play them but also have a S strictly as an emulator machine.
It's fine for games especially if you don't own a 4K TV and don't care about the no disc drive. Digital content you owned on the 360 will carry over if it's supported.
The graphics chip is an equivalent of a Xbox One X and you will run out of storage space only to buy Mictosoft's expensive proprietary SSD.
Run out of space with what? Why have ten games on the damn thing at one time?
I like the series s. It's quiet and compact and it's missing the part that always fricks up on my consoles.
I hate the controller though. It clicks and clacks and wakes up my family.
Get a rechargeable battery pack for the controller.
Also, gamepass is kind of shit and you may be better off getting games dirt cheap on sale.
gamepass stands to get a shitload better when activisionblizzard deal closes because all first party titles are included under game pass
until then? yeah you're right, its a mixed bag of "hey this games in game pass? neat" with barely any first party titles
>it's a click clacky controller
Eugh, is there a third party controller that's more silent so I don't wake the roommates up at night
SeS is really good, it's small and quiet, also it's kind of cute.
It's powerful enough for its price, gamepass is alright, overall - highly recommend
If you aren’t on GamePass I pity you
