Which model did you grab? Pic related or something else
Gm command. I don't really know shit about this series yet but I love the generic bots.
Also didn't want to get anything to complicated for my first build.
Based Jim is cute
>troonyshit

Very nice pic, although good luck if you got an RG or MG kit. I started with HG personally and have been satisfied using them to slowly improve at clipping techniques since I've had people tell me that the grades after can be quite arduous if you're ill prepped.
....haha. yeah rg's. Man I love me some rg. I mean who would go take an rg over an mg. .....haha...
Good luck anon.... at least this will make building lower grades feel significantly easier assuming you keep going after the fact
If you don't get a perfect grade for your first gunpla you're not gonna make it.
Yeah, sorry I don't want to spend $100+ on an experimental hobby that will probably look like shit up close because of inexperience
Weakness detected.
MG RX78-2 v3.0 was my first on, took me 19hours to finish in one sitting.
Just finished building mine, most fun I've had with a model kit. Definitely not for first timers for how much it costs. It was probably my 50th kit.
if I can give you some advice: get some nippers to cut out the pieces from the sprue, don't use scissors. you might also want to get a hobby knife and some sand paper or sanding sticks to remove mold lines or nubs. you don't necessarily need to paint the kit but I highly recommend spraying the hole kit with a gloss or satin varnish and using some tamiya panel liner to pin wash the panels. the gloss varnish will allow the panel liner to flow into the panels much easier and after letting it set up for a few minutes you can take a q-tip to clean up any that spilled over. hit the kit with a matte varnish after panel lining to knock off the shiny finish and dull the plastic.
have fun building your first kit it's a really relaxing process.
The varnish isn't necessary for your first builds, you should just be treating it like a glorified lego build since you'll be learning proper clipping and sanding techs first and foremost
panel lining is a necessity imo and while you can skip the gloss varnish the matte varnish is really helpful for dulling down the plastic.
oh and op if your reading this and decided to use a varnish, testers is really good and you can find it at most art supply stores. just remember to not spry directly on the plastic.
start by spraying out side of the model and sweep across the model, you want to about an arms length away from the kit as you sweep across it. and let it cure for about 24 hours.
I don't know half those words.
Holy shit I didn't know this hobby was that fricking intricate. Now I'm kinda scared I got the wrong one.
Btw wtf is mg Rg and all that?
hmmm you might want to watch some youtube videos before you go into it
check out ZakuAurelius channel even some warhammer channels can give you some good advice Eons of Battle has some good tutorials
Thanks bro. I'm going on a binge. Now I know what panel lining is and I honestly probably would've been disappointed with my finish build if I didn't get that knowledge before hand.
nice 🙂
Dont use your hobby knife for everything, and if you see people suggest mixing things together in some ghetto manner(like dissolving plastic with model glue to make a putty that has the original color) be careful.
this video is pretty ridiculous but it has some good beginner advice
MG = master grade
RG = real grade
The grading system for the difficulty of the build and intricacy of the final model.
High Grade (HG) are 1/144 scale builds that are generally considered the best place to start for beginners. You just build the model and thats it.
Real Grade (RG) is also a 1/144 scale build, but you construct a skeleton for the kit and then put the external Armour over, which gives the suit a lot more flexibility for posing, as well as a more detailed look overall.
Master Grade (MG) is the same as RG, but just at a 1/100 scale.
Really it doesn't matter that much, because all it is over anything else is an indicator for how long the build will take. I know a guy that started with RG and he was fine.
probably also worth mentioning that newer HG's may sometimes have more detail than older RG's. one example is the rx-78-02 origin ver. which is superior to older RG models, even if it lacks a skeleton.
generally, if you're struggling to decide between two model kits of the same gundam, go for the one with the blue bandai logo, even if it's a HG vs an older RG. unless the RG has a blue logo as well, in which case go for that. i can't speak for MG or PG, i personally don't like having gunpla of different scales in my collection.
Master grade and real grade are marketing terms. Quality varies and fluctuates depending on the product itself. Look into the actual product you want to buy rather than using mg rg hg or pg as an indicator.
http://gunpla.buygays.moe/
That's a perfect grade. You're not gonna accidentally stumble on one of those so you should be fine.
Dude don't listen to a single one of these homosexuals who are trying to make this hobby out to be some super precise machine working shit. Find a mobile suit you like and just follow the directions and enjoy the end result.
If one bit of advice here that's been given is worth looking into is buying a cheapo set of model tools (like, $8) to cut off the nubs from where you snap the model pieces off. This shit is piss easy, I promise.
All you need for this hobby is a pair of plastic nippers and the ability to follow directions. Anything else-ANYTHING-Is fricking optional. Especially when you're new to models.
I'm a 30 year modeling fricking vet from, Warhammer and Gunpla shit and I don't paint or topcoat or fricking anything other than panel line my Gunpla, because they look fine without any of that shit. I have some pricy nippers and good files and that's it, and I don't NEED any of that shit, it's just optional shit that saves time that only a long time hobbyist would have gotten over years.
Pleb shit bro
Sorry, I don't understand pleb babbling.
How are Warhammer models compared to gunpla? Since you have to glue em they have to be much harder to build right? I was thinking about buying and building a model for my brother
To build? moron easy unless it's pewter that needs pinning and such, or resin, which is ultra toxic and requires face masks and wet sanding to not breathe in the dust. Painting for Warhammer is the tough part.
Painting for Gunpla feels a waste because anything with moving parts will shred or chip paint, and Gunpla are more like action figures than models like Warhammer.
Alright good to know, thanks
>Painting for Gunpla feels a waste because anything with moving parts will shred or chip paint
This is cope.
Yeah, cope for paintshitters who can't deal with the fact they wasted their time when most kits are already cast in the appropriate colors for everything.
Stickers can go to hell though. I imagine you believe. Some stickers are used for curved surfaces and just come off so fricking easy.
Yeah stickers suck and should be illegal at this point. But most modern kits don't use stickers for much. IBO was stickers hell.
>Painting for Warhammer is the tough part.
not really, I do notice a lot of beginners make mistakes that they continue to repeat. I think it's pretty much just people not knowing how to thin paints and not diluting washes. I usually add a. 1:1 ratio of lamian medium to my washes, it really helps with flow and prevents bad staining.
I know this video really helped me with figuring out how to thin paints just figured I would post it in case you or anyone else finds it useful
don't listen to that homosexual. You absolutely do not need to top coat your kit with any varnish and no way in fricking hell should you be using tamiya panel liner on bare ass plastic. You can use a simple marker to panel line it up, or if you're feeling fancy the gundam pour type panel liners. You can get into this hobby with cheap baby stuff and be fine for the most part, you wouldn't want to use that cheap stuff on more expensive kits, but you'll be fine for now. The tards on /toy/ and maybe /m/ should be able to help, or that irish homosexual that talks about gundams on youtube, or the cool zakuaralies dude.
>being forced to cross dress and complying to help his hot moon queen that he later gets to live a comfy life with while cucking the annoying b***h is troony shit
Frick off moron.
>or if you're feeling fancy the gundam pour type panel liners.
Don't use the pour types on bare plastic. They're literally the same shit as Tamiya. It even says on those markers not to use them on bare plastic.
And don't listen to the morons who are like "OHH I JUST IGNORE IT AND DO IT ANYWAY HURF DURF I'VE DONE A MILLION KITS AND-" and fricking nothing. It still harms the plastic. Plenty of these idiots come back saying how a piece broke because even if you don't let it pool, it's still a chemical that weakens fricking plastic.
are you not supposed to use it on bare plastic? I've bought tamiya panel liner because my friend said to use it and I've used it on a couple kits on just bare plastic. Nothing bad happened so far but should I just stop?
It's a meme.
The enamel technically degrades the plastic and makes it brittle but I have a hard time believing it's by a lot, given that enamel paints are a normal thing in plastic model painting. But since the parts are snap fit, and have friction fit articulation parts it might be a bigger issue than with glue kits.
In theory you would want to gloss top-coat the model then do panel lining then do a matte top-coat (or whatever finish you want, but matte is the right one unless metallic). But that can add quite a lot of steps depending on what stage of assembly you want to do it at.
>if I can give you some advice: get some nippers to cut out the pieces from the sprue, don't use scissors
I used godhand when I was big into gunpla, that shit is legit worth it. Just get that and some sanding sticks. Also good starter kit is the RX-78-2 HGUC, dirt cheap, easy fun build, iconic.
Emulate the arcade version of federation vs zeon, it's cool.
There are no good Gundam games.
>There are no good Gundam games.
So many good games, just outnumbered by the crappy ones...
most gundam games are certified mid
i don't know if there's any outright bad
Gundam is the #1 offender for Japan only gets the good stuff.
I've only played one(forever ago) and it was fun until the 4th level or so where you got these giant flat top planes bombing a city in the darkest fricking setting I've seen in a video game.
Journey to Jaburo, I remember getting stuck on that level forever as a kid. I really liked the 3 repeatable stages you could do post game(I think that's how it worked) from either the Zeon or the Federation where you would unlock different mobile suits to use. Your post mission debriefing would also change based on how well you scored
The PS2 games are okay, the SD Gundam games are ok shovelware, the SNES and PS1 fighting games is kino
They're all dragged down by bandai insisting on making the worst fricking choices ever
Gundam VS (Next Plus is emulatable with PPSSPP, Extreme VS is on PS4)
Gundam Breaker 3 (SEA version has English text and subtitles)
That's all you need
Once you have seen at least 3 series (not just UC) go and play SD Gundam Battle alliance, is a love letter to the series.
>Love letter
>Chibi shit
Yes, that "chibi shit" is a love letter to the series, playing riders in the sky and fighting Scirocco, no other game has done that.
So far my plan is
Origin > original series > war in the pocket > thunderbolt.
Any thing else I gotta put on that list?
Z, CCA, G (for the lulz) and SEED (Yes, I fricking recommend SEED)
>(Yes, I fricking recommend SEED)
gay.
Outside of the Hirai faces and the remastered Nicole death, whats wrong with Seed?
It's literally the most melodramatic shit in the franchise, I couldn't even watch the first 5 episodes without rolling my eyes at how forced everything felt. Plus it looks like shit aside from the actual robots, most of the characters look like they have down syndrome and the colors are way too strong. The SEED shooting pose and the Gundam designs are the only worthwhile things to come out of that shitheap.
Honestly i will excuse SEED look like shit because it came from Digital transition era.
Almost all of anime in that era can be really bad.
Quite literally everything. It is a complete failure on every fundamental level of audiovisual media. From the full library random shuffle background music to the endless fights which are either endless stock footage or even worse, unique animated versions of the exact same stock actions; there is absolutely no coregraphy or storyboarding in any of the fights.
And of course almost every single part of the plot, story and characters is completely reprehensible. On a grand scale it's literally just 0079 but told worse and with even fricking less happening for well over half the show. Almost all the characters are useless because the show gleefully dives fully into only coordinators mattering; it openly revels in the fact that the only way the normal characters matter is how they effect Kira, because he is far and away the worst mary sue character I have ever seen. Every single character exists purely in his orbit, and the plot bends over to let everything go perfectly for him at all times (see: multiple unexplained death cheats). Every single part of SEED is utterly terrible and I genuinely believe it is the worst thing I've ever watched by a wide margin. Including SEED Destiny.
>G (for the lulz)
More like G for the absolute best Gundam show ever
>watching origin before the og.
The only way to properly get into the franchise is.
OG>Zeta>ZZ>CCA after that you can watch whatever the frick in any order you want.
Watch 00
Anime when?
SDGO
I want to get an Eva Unit 01 model kit, but I don't know which to get...
I've only made the cheap gunpla that are available at stores like Target or Walmart, and never invested in a kit that costs more than $25
ah great here come the eva gays
Anon, I bought a Freedom kit that costs me $75 I'm not even from muttland so it was alot, but totally worth it.
All the worthwhile models are at the very least $50.
RG Eva's good, but it's like $50. Other than that, can't recommend any.
Also Eva is a shit series and Shinji is the worst fricking protagonist ever. The entire series is the antithesis of mecha and just pointless word salad shit that the writer and director threw in because "it sounded cool". Frick Eva, frick the damage it has done to mecha, and frick any morons that like it. I hold Eva in the same regard I hold western mecha, dog shit that needs to be scraped off the shoe of life.
Black person is your fault if you think eva is about mechas. And even if it isnt, mecha fights are fricking kino. Why we dont get good kaiju vs mecha more often, is literally the perfect match.
>defending Eva
Disgusting.
What damage did it do?
It's the F/SN of mecha. Mediocre shit that normies cream their pants over and is everywhere despite it's overwhelming mediocrity. A literal plague upon the genre by being so pervasive.
there is no normie alive that watches fate. the fact that you think a hentai VN turned franchise is "normie" says more about your place on the autist-o-meter than anything else you said.
>psuedo intellectual garbage with a teenage main cast and an insufferable MC, porn is unironically better than the shirry story. Fans have their heads so far up their ass they think their generic tropes defined a genre. Asuka is literally Rin
NTA but lol
i have no opinion of evangelion i just wanted to let you know youve lost scope if you think that any normie even knows what fate is.
Fate/Grand Order is the biggest money making mobile game ever made, normalgay.
Its actually 8th. But yeah, fate is bigger than Eva at this point
Motherfricker Fate has a goddamn game on the front fricking page of Steam. Not only do normies know what the frick it is, it's been mainstream for 10 fricking years now, at least. You're moronic, but I guess that is par for the course of some moron who watches Fateshit or defends Eva.
ive seen neither, and have no opinion on either. normies play xbox they dont browse steam. no one knows what fate is, but a decent bunch of them have heard of EVA. this is common knowledge for those who aren't terminally online.
Those are some extremely hard words for a Japanese businessman to say.
Based Tomino, shitting on Eva as everyone should.
Tomino is a fricking dick, Anno has gone in record to suck his dick and that's how he responds?
Its a really true statement however. He comes from a practical and pragmatic time. When every moment you're spending builds on the other to put you at your fate. He's just saying it feels dispiriting, and he's in anguish that some people could feel that way and be made to feel worse in that. That's pretty loving. If I knew a hardass who said that I'd think theyre like 5 seconds from a psychotic break. Take people where they're at. Old homie.
The man can't help but speak from the heart, he always tells the hard truths everyone is thinking but can't say aloud.
Tomino is quite literally the poster child for "director having a mental breakdown while creating multiple works and fricking murders most if not all of the casts in horrific and brutal ways in the process". He has a legacy of being in a bleak, dark place and inflicting it on viewers, and he fricking hates it, so it doesn't matter whether Anno praised him or not -- to him that's backhanded after he actually goes to see Evangelion and sees it spiral straight into the shit he wants to escape.
Doesn't EVA end with Shinji coming to terms with the fact that he has to make the most of life and make things happen for himself in order to be happy?
Hes choking asuka to fricking death??????? The whole ending sweet moment is she accepts that he's that fricked up in the moment he's trying to kill her.
Do people take End of Eva as the actual ending of EVA? I know it's sort of in the name but EoE always felt like it was a frick you to the fans. If you all want to be little b***hes about life then sure, here's your ending.
What do you mean? EoE is the improved ending. The original ending is third wall breaking garbage where the director just jerks himself off.
See thats the kind of mental illness Eva fans have. Bought into a franchise such that the idea of calling a whole fricking movie a middle finger is just another artistic angle. So deep. Truly Kojima tier.
No, Eva ends in a fricking apocalypse where Shinji is choking someone the frick out and everything is ruined. He didn't get over shit. And then the universe is rebooted like 3 times and he's still a worthless fricking c**t. Frick Eva.
No EVA ends (or rather ended, as the story was continued, and finally concluded in the most recent movie) with Shinji looking sad at the Ocean, after choking Asuka, and seeing how the world has quite literally ended around them. Then she calls him pathetic.
eva makes tomino seethe because of how much it reminds him of zeta and ideon. Eva digested Zeta's mistreatment of children by adults and turned it into the commercial megahit Tomino didn't get with Zeta or victory.
>Zeta literally the most favorite Gundam bit everywhere, only behind Char's Counterattack, every single time
>even beats out the chingchong SEED sperging
What fricking planet are you from you moron? Did Eva taint your brain this much?
What gunpla kit is this? I've been thinking of being an even bigger manchild and getting into gunpla recently.
This is the Master Grade for the RX-78, which was the gundam from the first series. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend starting out with a High Grade of something that doesn't look too complex like a Zaku or an early MC's gundam
That's the MG Ground Gundam you secondary.
I was thinking about picking up a basic RX-78 and possibly the HG lfrith
I picked Rx 78 mg Ver 3 as my first kit and it was shit. Bought zeta mg Ver. Ka. after that and was blown away by how good it is in comparison. As for games I'm looking into operation fairy as it is single player and looks decent enough despite being an asset swap from a multiplayer game.
Gundam games, like the gundam shows and movies, are straight up dogshit in general. Mostly crossover stuff too.
SRW for turn based tactics
G Gen for more fanservicey/open turn based tactics
ACE for an SRW style crossover that plays closer to Zone of the Enders
Gundam VS series for arcade brawler shit
Musou for braindead musou
I enjoyed playing gundam evo for the first month it was out last year but then it completely died out
gundam journey to jaburo was my favorite PS2 game as a kid
>got my first plastic model
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Gundam Breaker 3 for the ps4 is pretty arlight. You can emulate the vita version. Gb02 is fun. Sd gundam generation cross rays is interesting.
Make sure your room is well ventilated if you want to start painting. Stay healthy.
What gunpla are you working on, Ganker?
None. Stopped since earlier this year but I still have a lot of stock and got some more. Hope to pick it up again soon but I already did a fair amount of models and will probably start out again at a better pace. Also I remembered I mainly liked zoids as a kid before I had to drop the hobby due to economic circumstances, so I bought some of the neater gundam designs that appealed to me.
I bought pic related RG because it was super cheap at my local store, I'll be building it tomorrow, I've read it's kinda meh, but it was just 20€, it's my first real grade too
It's good, just the chest with the core fighter that connects to the waist tends to fall off.
Have fun anon.
Real grades are the worst
Master Shit kits are moroningly simple and easy to build like Lego due to its big sized parts and colour correction. It offers no challenge whatsoever and promotes the build being good out of box which goes against everything this hobby stands for and why Bandai has killed off the lone because they're getting consistent losses from selling them. RG kits on the other hand is a lot smaller and offers an actual challenge as a result, RG filters out snapshitters and leddit homosexuals who just wants a quick build out of the box that the Master Shit line has been predominantely about by intentionally reducing colour correction and making the parts small so the TRUE modelers will have to take time and effort to make a RG kit presentable. RG shits on Master Shit kits for a reason and why people avoid getting a Master Shit kit once the RG version is released since it's just better all around.
I just like how they look on my self.
Unfathomably based. I just love constructing them, smoothing out the nubs and feeling proud of my construction after the fact. Minmaxing gunpla isn't for me.
Gundam have hair now wtf?
but I just want a cool robot to display in my room
Go back to /gpg/
>1/144 scale
Sorry homosexual but 1/100 is the absolute minimum size a gunpla should be.
>he thinks RGs are a real challenge
every gunpla is a lego you dumbass. also, RGs usually looks better out of the box than MGs, so your argument is completely moronic. flexing over anime plastic models is moronic, get a better hobby for it, gunpla is just for fun
Anon I am saying this with the deepest sincerity I can muster: There are zero (0) gunpla models that are remotely challenging to a genuine hobbyist. I honestly cannot believe I am reading such a stupid post, it's like listening to someone that finished reading 1984 fancying themselves a political philosopher.
It's just a shitposter anon, don't give him more though then he deserves
The second I saw "Mastershits" I knew to stop reading
Being this much of an elitist moron over glorified legos, fricking loser
Finished the HG RX-78-2 revive and just bought the RG Nu Gundam and the RG Sazabi. Gonna take ages to arrive though, hlj is slow as molasses.
Any tips for good posing/photos? Everything I've tried looks lackluster.
I put everything in Katoki pose
Heres the revive grandaddy
>Any tips for good posing/photos?
Lots of light. No matter how much light you think you have, you need more. Bright LED's.
>Any tips for good posing
u might find this useful
Also, angles. Don't dutch angle everything, but sometimes it can help. The Getter up there is just a pretty flat shot.
Trying scribing for the first time on the darilbalde, and made a new set of purple blades for it instead of the green. I wanted purple for the future dark color scheme I'm going to go with.
damn, nu-gundam is gay as frick. what went so wrong?
>not liking Getter
Imagine being this much of a moronic shitter.
Your toys look gay, gay zoomer.
>so much of a zoomer moron he doesn't know Getter
Holy frick, are you even old enough to be on this website? Better run before the mods sweep you out of here, broccoli hair.
>nu-gundam is gay as frick
Get fricked Char
HG Zock, first time doing scribing and trying to make it look like GBO2's model. Already fricked up a few places but still looks cooler.
Putting waterslides on my RG god gundam, they look sick but god waterslides take forever to apply
Not gunpla but, I'm scared. First time working on a resin kit.
That's a piss easy kit, you'll be fine.
What the frick is that
absolute kino. They are a step above the snap'n fit of gunpla though, you pretty much need to be glueing alot of parts together.
Most FSS resin kits are easier than Gundam resin kits, Volks' quality control makes most parts near perfect out of the box plus marking all the drilling points for pinning for you, they have fairly simple color schemes, and they usually require far less masking than an equivalent Gundam kit.
Chink Gundam resin kits can be 6 month to a year long endeavors, you can knock out a modern GTM kit in a month from unboxing to finished paintjob. I'd say the hardest modern FSS kit isn't even a resin one, but the plastic LED Mirage V3 Inferno Napalm. Big FSS kits from before 2000 are truly massive projects though.
As someone who knows nothing about this series but has seen this particular design several times, explain why it gets so much power level wank
Hate the show, but love the suits building sexzette at the moment, but I haven't had a lot of time to finish it.
Man, I was so hyped for schwarzette, it's the coolest jeturk suit by far, but man did they ever do it dirty in the series. Jesus Christ.
i want this gal and the caluburn, they both looks super fun
Halfway through a RG Nu Gundam I've been slacking on for a year. I honestly might just buy a thin pen or something to panel line with because using Tamiya is annoying because I have to wait for drying
MGEX Strike Freedom.
ni hao
Finishing up the RG Nu Gundam. I also have the RG Sazabi waiting along with a HG Lfrith Ur and a Plaibot Gurren Lagann.
I hadn't built a single kit in like six months and got sucked into it again once I was able to make some decent money.
I need to finish my Zaku II Matsunaga Custom. Then I have a couple SDs I want to bang out, the Caesar and Sasuke. Looking forward to finally building one of my Megami Device kits or maybe the Krakendress from Dark Advent.
Working on a Darilbalde now, either going to do a RG Force Impulse, or MG Hyaku Shiki
i have MG Virtue, HG Baund Doc, MG Kampfer, and the Qubeley Embellir to build but im being lazy.
Crimson Gouf. Warhammer keeps getting in the way of finishing it though. I should just crank it out one evening
I fell off a while ago. I was making a digimon Machinedramon into grimlock. But I still have a leo/ zaku 2 to make. I just do not like hg's anymore.
Not into Gundam, so I mostly stick to SMP.
I've got a Eva Unit 01 colored Mecha Godzilla I need to finish and pray I figure out what I'm doing wrong with the water slides.
I really don't know what it is, I'm using room temp water, I clean the area with 91% alcohol and wipe it dry, but the damn things won't stick
.
After that I have an Arcadia I can do, and White Tiger and Tor are coming in February.
I just finished snapping the frame together on a MG Char's Gelgoog 2.0. I'm cleaning the armor up for painting. I plan on giving it a standard Mass Production paintjob since the MP Gelgoog 2.0 is unobtainium in leaf . It'll be my first painted MG. I'm a poorgay too, and I don't have a paint booth or an airbrush, so I'm gonna hand-paint it with brushes on a wet palette.
I got a Try Burning next to me that I wanna build sometime soon
What was his name again?

Frick you 08-MS is great
Aside from that horrible last episode with the time skip, I’d argue it’s a bit better than the OG series in terms of setting and character dynamics

Yes. MoMo's by their own lore are giant robots.

It's each character's first letter of their name in case ya don't know.
Damn it anon, I wanted to see who got it
Suletta probably has as low an IQ as DOMON KASSHU. The smartest gundam protag is probably shiro amada just because he's literally not 14
Kamille and Amuro are the only protagonists who have actually designed their own MS.
>designs own MS
>both pilots die or get turned into vegetables, and the machines end up scrapped garbage by the end
frick you G Gundam is amazing
Anons... I...
>Who could this mysterious man who has my missing brother's voice and build and seems to know me be? Also I need to find my missing brother so I can kill him
did you know that some animals are so stupid they don't understand the hand and foot they like belong to a person? they'll enjoy pets from someone's hand but get pissed when they see their face because they don't associate them as the same animal. domon is stupider than such a creature
G Gundam isn't necessarily bad, but is ShounenHispanic tier.
G Gundam is super robot you fricking zoomer. A genre long before your shounen term existed
G Gundam is unwatchable garbage. It halted my progress through this series for 4 years until I finally decided to just drop it and move on to Wing which has so far been good.
I'm convinced that the only people who like G don't like Gundam in general.
>G Gundam at the bottom
A sure sign that you're mentally ill with a warped sense of what is "good" and soulful.
>failed the IQ test
Anon, it's based on their names
>S - Suletta
>A - Amuro
>C - Char
Don't give the secondary information he doesn't deserve.
It would be funnier if Soran and Casval used a different letter for their aliases
>troony yuri gundam in first (00 is okay tho)
>Masculinity at the very bottom
No, this is bait.
see
Nobody cares about your stupid "gotcha" game. Literal renny behavior.
<100 IQ
>Who care about your stupid facts, what about my FEELINGS
YWNBAW
I can guarantee you weren't thinking of their names when making that chart. "Oh look they all have the same first letters in their respective tiers, now don't talk shit about my favorite troon gundam, or else!"
literally subhuman IQ
the fricking file name is "IQ test" you moron
See what I mean? You're literally foaming at the mouth right now. Go back to your troon general on Ganker if mods haven't already shut that image dumping ground down.
>See what I mean? You're literally foaming at the mouth right now. Go back to your troon general on Ganker if mods haven't already shut that image dumping ground down.
And he's a wojak poster too? Please, keep posing yourself tourist. Hahaha.
>And he's a wojak poster too? Please, keep posing yourself tourist. Hahaha.
You're so broken right now you can only spam wojak and AI garbage. Are my posts so great that they need to be quoted? Please anon, you honor me.
>You're so broken right now you can only spam wojak and AI garbage. Are my posts so great that they need to be quoted? Please anon, you honor me.
Damn, that one was fast.
>Damn, that one was fast.
Post it again.
>Post it again.
bing Dalle3 is down for me wtf does anyone know how to get it running on a localmachine
We might as well call this thread "mindfricked anon dumps his fat fetish folder"

>You're late, I was beginning to think you forgot about me.
Another one? Why don't you just post an entire mega folder.
>Another one? Why don't you just post an entire mega folder.
Don't ruin the thread by participating in bait.

Zeon MS rule
your gyan bro....
Nah, frick M'Quve
The MG barb and Rx 78 02 origin are peak master grades. Forget the games and just buy gunpla!
you should unironically go to /toy/ and go to the Gunpla/Plamo thread
>/toy/
mecha is way better >>>/m/
Frick off we're full
>transformers
🙁
>transformers, japan
🙂
Transformers are Japanese though. All of the designs were Diaclone, Macross, or Microwhatever, which were Japanese toy lines designed for and by the Japanese. Hasbro just licensed them and got Marvel to write a story for them.
Fricking moron.
You dont understand. In america transformers, their cartoons and how they tried to advertise to us is a reminder that we are house Black folk. It like the most american a symbol you cam get.
>What if my work truck could talk?
God I can’t wait till Armored Core gets some new kits. Really need both of Rusty’s ACs to build
based, Im also getting into gundam. Im finishing the original anime, although I started it just because I wanted to watch everything in release order Im fricking loving it, way more than I thought I was going to enjoy it.
Also this Black person frog was what finally made me watch it.
Extremely based, anon. Here are the model kits I've built. I also have Moderoid's Dynazenon on standby, waiting for me to finally be able to watch Gridman Universe. I'm also thinking about ordering some cheap HG (Zaku 2, GM, Guntank...) because I really loved Gundam Evolution, and I find it better to spend 35€ on those kits that 50€ or 60€ like I did for the RG Eva 01 or the MG Gundam Kyrios.
Barbatos is the best Gundam and im tired of pretending its not
>monkeys are cool
Yes
You're already a Gundam.
Generally is it even recommended to panel line HG kits all that much? They're so small that I can't think of anything beyond the small isolated indents making much of a difference
If you're not a cute JK, or a salarywoman cake, don't even bother getting into it.
panel lining is easily the biggest and fastest improvement that makes any kit look at least twice as good. Just don't use black on white kits, use grey, black is too extreme.
I forgot pic.
Ok well do you panel line before or after the build then? Because while there are crevices that are in the individual pieces themselves, there are also some that emerge from putting to together and I'm unsure if those can be lined
i just do it when each limb is assembled, or just fully build it then pull the limbs off after the fact and panel line.
Usually there is a sort of panel line on the visible seams anyway that you get some benefit from doing if you panel line while it's not assembled, but what
says is a good idea too. It depends on the kit, the newer HG kits are pretty easy to partially assemble, the older one like picrel has a lot of little panel parts.
Depends on how much else you're doing though. If I were only panel lining I'd probably just do it assembled.
alright then, there's a couple of gunpla specialty stores in my area that I'll check in on then
Do you recommend flowing ink or ballpoint markers for HG?
I can't say, I use homemade oil mixtures so I'm just talking out of my ass. But I assume the tamiya enamel panel liners are good. You just have to clean up any dabbing spots after using them. the panel lining markers are probably fastest and no cleanup (unless you make a mistake), but I would think give the worst results. The markers could still be a good place to get started though.
Yes, you should panel line HG's. Tremendous improvement with just that. Also don't bother with that Tamiya shit, just use a panel line marker. Tamiya fricks up the plastic due to the chemicals in it, you're only supposed to use it over a gloss coat, and if you're doing all of that paint work shit you're better off doing it on an MG or something.
In particular, I would recommend the GM302 Gray pour type marker, really easy to use and doesnt require anything besides Isopropyl alcohol to remove the excess.
>ENTER
LEAVE
The only good one here is the rabbit mech and even that one is kinda mid.
>Do some research
>Pilot kills herself
Yeah... that sounds about right for a rooster teeth show.
I didn't even know this was a RT show, but the minute I saw those things I immediately thought of RWBY after getting over how uninterested I was in the designs.
something about them feels so uninspired it's actually offputting
poast builds
scribin'
I really enjoyed the smaller Artifact kits.
Sorry for the /m/ text, I don't have the original images on me right now.
Shan't read guides. Shall ask stupid questions in the thread
smallgeese
Zionic Front on PS2. Played the shit out of that back in the day with my best friend, but it might just be nostalgia talking.
I once had a dream about a ∀ Gundam game that was on the ps1 and had the Mega Man Legends art style
>troony show
He didn't post any Evangelion movie or show though.
>defending woke mc

How has everybody's Buddha carving gone?
>guys help me get into gundam. I don't know WHY but I WANT to get into gundam!
Why are people like this?
You can like like gunpla and give no fricks about Gundam
Elitists can choke on a bag of dicks
I don't get how that's related to what I said.
>intimidating
bro it's just a cartoon
You are in the era of loregayging. No story is a mnemonic.
Because the mobile suits look cool and its a nice hobby to have that isn’t just playing vidya all day, moron
Dunno mate, it looks cool from the outside and you have gunpla and stuff but it may look intimidating when you see there's like a quattro bajilion different series and timelines spanning more than 40 years.
In FO76 I made a launch area kind of mishmashed out of whatever looked sort of gundamy to remind me of gundam when I wear the suit and take off. It was kind of fun.
>Release a mid 2000's film in the mid 2020's
SEEDbros are we ready for another train wreck?
JESUS YAMATO
I AM READY FROM YOU TO MINDBREAK ME AGAIN
/m/ would be a better place to make a thread like this. That said, the only Gundam game I like is maxiboost, never built Gunpla, watched literally everything besides yurishit and AGE. Start with UC timeline in production order and go from there. UC and G Gundam are the only good things Gundam.
>never built Gunpla
same, I just want to watch giant robots fight on warfields and anime romance melodrama subplots. i dont have the patience to put toys together.
>UC and G Gundam are the only good things Gundam
The Build series are good though
OG Build Fighters and Divers Re:Rise are the only good ones, everything else is mid at best. The first Divers series drops off hard after the first Coalition battle and doesn't pick back up until the finale.
maxibro, what region do you play from
Maxiboost is def the best Gundam game available at this time. It proves how small the gundam vidya scene is in the west. It's a good arcade game, but nobody plays it over here. At my work I hear nothing but Mortal Kombat and Tekken and Smash Bros crap.
PUT THE NEW GAME ON PC YOU FRICKING Black folk AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
WHO CARES ABOUT THE ARCADES
There’s a port of crossboost for PC. It wasn’t running great until a few weeks ago, but it’s pretty smooth now (for the most part). Setup is kinda balls though, takes forever to start up, it’s an arcade game so it has no spectating mode, bad menus with timers, etc. Still a lot of fun once you get through the bullshit.
>troonstation
No
>fighting game
>good
Let me guess... you're black?
Extreme vs next plus for the psp is pretty fun. So are the PS2 games like zeonic front and the other ones where you get to have your pilot OC in battles from the Gundam and Gundam zeta. Gundam vs Gundam zeta, journey to jaburo, encounters in space etc.
I like to paint my gunpla OP. The m not very good but it’s a very fun skill to learn. If you have a lady, she may have fun as this crosses over into arts & crafts neatly. My wife is a hairstylist and goes bonkers over the filing and fine detailing of the panel pieces.
As for games? Encounters in Space and Fed vs Zeon on PS2 are classic. If you want something more methodical, Zeonic Front is dope.
>Bandai managed to kick all the trannies out of Gundam before they could ruin it like how they ruined Guilty Gear and shit
Thank frick, hopefully Witch from Mercury ends up being forgotten.
God, what a shitshow that was
Gundams are sick, but it's more fun building and painting them than playing the games
That's some nice looking metallic paint.
>boring dogshit designs for years post 1990s
>most of the shows range from Okay to just bad, 0079 has a great story but even for the time the animation is really rough with the movies only helping a little bit. Best entries like 0080 and Zeta are oppressively bleak and hopeless
>can’t stress how boring the mecha designs and setting are compared to other less successful real robot entries like Zoids, Dunbine, Nadesico
How did gundam get so big?
>can’t stress how boring the mecha designs and setting are compared to other less successful real robot entries like Zoids, Dunbine, Nadesico
Those designs absolutely suck compared to gundam.
He outright admitted he's a Super Robot l gay, nothing bad about that but his opinion can't be taken seriously other than to diss on Armageddon.
the best super robot design is the hamster
>said id paint my kits one day
>never did
>tons of tamiya paint and unfinished kits sitting in my garage
Feels bad. I would still be buying HGs and HMMs if i could paint models
I don't have anywhere I could paint and also properly ventilate since my basement has no windows
Maybe next summer I'll get a paint booth and run a vent tube all the way out the door or something
I painted my first kit over a year into building them
It took me like a week because I decided to topcoat every individual piece and paint them all individually
Painting is borderline worthless anyway. Most of the kits are molded in the right colors.
>the good
Half the shows are good and the watch order isn't really important.
Some of the best model kits, even if only from an engineering standpoint, you can buy. Also typically reasonably priced and relatively easy to find.
The overall quality of kits tends to improve over the years.
>the bad
Half the shows are animu dogshit.
The vidya ranges from trash to forgettable.
Model kits are released/reprinted in batches. Not really manufactured FOMO, there's just a shit ton of kits and they tend to put out the better sellers for often. Variants are often subject to very limited release.
>the ugly
Trannies have embraced the IP, especially the model kit side. It's almost impossible to look around at custom paint jobs and not see that pink and blue shit everywhere, or not stumble on a video that has that troony vocal fry narration.
sounds like a you problem because I don't run into those issues
>Trannies have embraced the IP
More like trannies have embraced the Yuri highschool bullshit in Mercury
I’ve been to weeb shops in my local area that sell gunpla and I haven’t seen a single Genestealer skulking about
>genestealer
Kek. My local store is also generally fine but it's in Los Angeles so you'll see them wandering around from time to time sadly
>don't remember when the gays were calling the two protagonist in iron blooded orphans gay
They were brothers through survival yet they still called them gay.
>Genestealer
That's a new one.
Elaborate.
It's a 40k reference, Tyranid Genestealers spread cult alien worship on human planets and spread genetic corruption
Anon, i'm sorry to tell you but Troon has been embracing yuri and school setting thanks ever since Lovelive on Tumblr.
Bros. I love building gunpla, but i don't know about panel lining them and or painting. I feel i would ruin them.
Just buy shitty HGs you can snap together in 30 minutes.
In fact i like HGs.
MGs are too big and i don't like the floppy frames of the RGs.
some panel lining really does make it look nice but that's all I'll do. I might just pick up some thin markers because I just learned the tamiya stuff apparently will destroy the plastic so I need to be careful
Gihrens Greed, good luck finding a way to play it tho
Never built but they look cool. What's the most complex model to build?
Probably the one specific Perfect Grade Unleashed RX-78-2, just by virtue of it being the only kit in that category. But there might be more complicated small run resin kits that are more complicated, or at least more difficult to deal with just by virtue of them being resin.
Types of Gundam model grades, in order of typical difficulty:
>Perfect Grade (PG)
$150+ kits, larger scale, full autismo fanboy mode, people only buy and build them to say they did
>Real Grade (RG)
1/144 scale (6-8", dick joke), more complex (sometimes for the sake of being more complex), more gimmicks (moving parts, etc), fun to build but pain in ass to customize due to number and size of parts
>Master Grade (MG)
1/100 scale (9-12"), usually a lot of gimmicks, usually looks ok just snapped together and put on shelf, shit for customizing
>High Grade (HG)
1/144, most number of kits, quality highly varies (newer kits almost always better), even the shit kits are usually better than non-bandai stuff, about $15-$35 for most, highly customizable
>Super Deformed (SD)
chibi midget looking things
>Entry Grade
baby's first gunpla (they're still pretty good), very few kits
Do an HG first. All you need are a pair of nippers (every hobby store has them). Bonus points for a hobby knife (xacto knife, whatever) and high grit file (buy one of those multi-sided foam nail files for $2 in the beauty section of the store).
Gundam battle operation 2 got ported to pc recently
Absolute trashfire launch, and has only barely improved, but it has a billion and one mobile suits to play as
I'm much better at buying kits than i am building them bros
I'm going to raid your house
I don't have anything crazy in terms of kits, but despite having picked up like twenty different ones from thrift stores I've only built a little $5 EG kit.
Might set one aside for this weekend, though
I always tell myself today is the day to build but i always just end up playing titanfall 2 instead, or recently steel battalion simce i finally got my hands on the controller
The Hello Kitty is already built, but as regular Chars Zaku. Im in the middle of 1/100 full mechanics Aerial (the only good thing about witch) but my next build will probably be Hyaku Shiki since im watching zeta or the master grade SD strike freedom because master grade SD seema cool
The box that's a replica of the CCA poster is sick..
I've only got four models in my backlog, two HGs and an RG (last one isn't a gunpla) but I'm waiting to get a better pair of clippers on a trip next week.
You should build the Hello Kitty next..
>SD Unicorn
I have tried to get one but is it either sold out or waay too expensive
It was 16 leaf bucks
My city has a dedicated gunpla store though ans the owner doesnt jack the pricea up so we're lucky here
I haven't seen it for less than $50 Freedombucks, I was going to bite the bullet but then it got sold out, I'm not from a 1st world country so Bandai doesn't give a damn about us peasants, next time I won't hesitate.
Based. Gunpla is going mainstream. Invest if you have an opportunity.
That store has been here atleast 15 years, but 2023 is the year of mecha for sure
Play Gundamevo before it shuts down in a month
God I wish I liked Gundam. But the fact they are giant robots and not actually suits pisses me off.
Anything larger than a tank is impractical and moronic.
Looks like someone didn’t study up on minovskey particles
I got exactly the show for you then.
Why there must be always a moron complaining about muh realism in mecha threads? Do you go to medieval fantasy threads and complain giant creatures look moronic? No, then why fo this in a mecha thread?
congratulations on your coming out
anybody ever look at these kits
https://www.gundamplanet.com/nonzero-studio-thor-model-kit.html
It looks alright but I want to know if anyone has any experience with these things
Anons, how large is your backlog? I really need to stop buying Gunpla and work on reducing this pile. Currently working on an MG Sinanju that I’ve had assembled frame-only since pre-COVID.
I have 4 at the moment
-RG Wing Gundam
-HG Gouf Custom
-2 HG Gundam MKII
Uhhh....
18 kits, including 3 PGs that I impulse bought of HLJ, im still working on getting those shipped.
It's the first time I've had a backlog since I started the hobby. I have the RG Sazabi, the HG Lfrith Ur and the Plaibot Gurren Lagann. Currently finishing the weapons for the RG Nu Gundam. I don't usually buy so much at once, but I had the money and a story in my country had them. These kits fricking disappear in a day or two, so I went for it.
I'm like 30 kits deep at this point. I'll get some momentum going sometimes and build 2-3 at a time before going back to vidya.
Got this one as a first choice. Everything else was out of stock.
Anyone got the 1/100 aerial? Its the only 1/100 I can get and it looks good but Im not sure i wanna pay that much for a full mechanics (non mg)
RX-78[G] sexooo
How many anons go beyond merely snapshitting?
I panel line so I'm basically a veteran of the one year war
Which pens do you use
I have this Tamiya panel line thing my friend gave me. I actually might just buy a pen because it sounds like less of a pain in the ass than having to make sure I open my windows so the fumes dont kill my semen
I started from Warhammer so my kits all feel incomplete without painting.
It's honestly fricking exhausting and makes me backlog them, but the results are so good.
Just fricking use matte varnish over top of your finished kits, it's 90% of the look anyways
i fill seamlines, decal, panel line and paint using a basic highlighting method. kinda wanna try a shading method called color modulation, i mostly see tank modelers use it and rarely ever see it on gunpla, but when i do see it on gunpla it looks amazing
Ngl I just put the pieces together and put on the stickers they give me
I don’t know dick about painting and they look pretty cool to me as they are
I can't paint for shit, so I just paint a few small details and panel line it frick stickers and decals tho, they make everything ugly
The ones I do mostly look fine to me except the metal parts look like shit unpainted, but I just stick to acryllic and a brush.
I only like old UC gundam + Turn A + somw things from Unicorn.
Is 00 and IBO worth watching for a gay like me?
Yeah, 00 mostly. S2 is a downgrade but it's still good.
If you found any enjoyment in Unicorn then sure, watch 00.
IBO is like they played mad libs with verbs from the series and then made the entire series surface level dark elements and game of thrones memes
Give it a shot, you might enjoy pieces of it but I don't think anybody has ever said the whole series is good, just 'S1 is decent and S2 is rocky with a divisive ending'
You sound like a grunt guy OP.
Play Side Story 0079, Zeonic Front, and Lost War Chronicles. They are all easy to emulate and you can get the isos on the internet archive.
Gundam 0081 and Gundam UCdr are very good arcade sims for the PS3. Watch 0080, 08th MS Team, and 0083.
You are watching the show instead of those compressed to shit lighting pace recap movies right
based, FRICK movie gays, FRICK THEM. only worse are the "can I skip everything and just watch unicorn?" gays, but I never saw them again after the ova ended
Movies is how most of Japan watched Gundam, don't kid yourselves
I don't give a frick, they're shit no matter who watched what. I'm not a 80s japanese kid, I have internet access and can download whatever anime I want, frick you
make any excuse you want, if you watched the movies, you didn't watch 0079, you watched recaps
I startes with movies but my autism kicked in so i switched to the show, cant believe how much kino was cutout. The series is a must
I started by watching the first movie but after that decided to go back to the start of the series, amazing to see how much had to be cut to fit everything in, I haven't actually gotten to where the first movie ends yet though, maybe i'll sit down and watch some more episodes today
Playstation games
Super Robot Wars
Dynasty Warriors Gundam
Which Gundam is this. I like how chunky it looks?
Ground Gundam.
>I like how chunky it looks?
lots of OYW (One Year War) Mobile Suits look "chunky"
It's part of the early Mobile Suit charm, later they all become sleeker and can do crazy shit
watch 08th ms team
It's more important than a one night stand
I need the magic, when I touch your hand
Armored Core 6 is the best Gundam game
Armored Core 6 is the best Votoms game *
FTFY anon
v is more votoms like imo
Make sure you watch G Gundam, it's soulful and amazing, and any Gundam "fan" who says otherwise is a moron with shit taste.
Sayla UUUOOOOHHHH!
Armoured Core 6.
>Tamiya and vallejo paints are $2 a bottle for 17ml
>no mr color in my country
>buying online costs triple plus takes 1-2 months to get here
how can hobbyists live like this
One of the entire reasons you do a hobby is to have satisfaction later. I just smoke weed and jack off when I'm not partaking in a hobby. Patience, coomer.
>no mr color in my country
what country are you from?
Just finished the RG nu gundam, I realized I slept hard on RG kits.
you are going to panel line him and hit him with a top coat right anon?
I don't understand the GUNDAM fandom
Mechwarrior, Mechassault, Chromehounds, Armoured Core, Battletech, fricking EVANGELION
what is the point of GUNDAM?
>what is the point of GUNDAM?
Uhh... the big robots shooting things at each other. It's a pretty novel idea, really.
they aren't even big. That new GUNDAM overwatch game thing clearly they are not big they are human sized.
>says Battletech three times
But why?
t. soul held down by gravity
Gundam is Japanese Star Wars. Political shit and magical space wizards fighting big battles.
Play the extreme vs series, it’s a lot of fun
>wanna watch Gundam
>remember I'm stuck on ZZ
Once day I'll finish it and be free
This but IBO for me. I would really like to continue my production order journey, there's not even that much more
Only thing you're really missing out on is build divers re:rise.
ZZ is better than Zeta and 0079
Yeah I heard it gets good (don't know if better than Z/0079), but it's painful right now
ZZ gets pretty fun in a cartoony dumb way, but then gets really stupid in a cartoony dumb way (but bad) and then it ends while in peak moronation.
Most people say it picks up after Moon-moon (when they go to some throwback colony), but honestly I thought the early episodes of Judau just fricking around were refreshing. Not everything in war is super serious, and it established that the colony the story starts on basically just had a bunch of rejects that didn't know what they were doing. Yazan got screwed over but oh well.
I watched RIGHT after Z so the tonal shift fricked me
Yazan goes from penetrating people to falling down a fricking manhole like a cartoon character
Yeah if you watch it immediately after Zeta you'll probably get whiplash. I'd stick with it anyway.
Do people like moonmoon and after ZZ? I love ZZ filler episodes, since they’re so goofy and dumb. But when it actually tries to be series and have a plot towards the end it feels like a failure. But it’s okay because all following UC entries ignore ZZ’s plot :^)
Cartoon villain Yazan and dumbass lovestruck Glemy as the villains grew on me. The stupid filler episodes are comfy for me.
considering how zeta ends i really enjoyed zz being silly and it also makes judeau the first mc who actually feels like he's learning to become a pilot instead of 'lol newtype powers'
i liked zz more than zeta
ZZ wasn’t THAT bad for the most part. Parts of it actually were don’t get me wrong and it’s basically ignored by every series after it except (barely) unicorn, but I at least could finish it which is more than I can say about some other gundam series.
Enjoy it, ZZ is the last good piece of main UC content, if you don't count G-Reco.
ZZ is phenomenal for the earth arc alone. The rest is a mixed bag, its obvious that the early episodes were made without a grand story laid out while the last bunch feel like there are five directors with different visions all fighting for control
At the very least you can get a laugh out of a few character arc conclusions.
>watch ZZ
>Judau becomes more likeable but the side characters remain awful
They're actually preventing me from finishing the damn series. Also the Newtype shit is getting pretty stupid.
they're morons who act with morons and actually deal with the consequences of being morons unlike morons in zeta and 079 who just get carried by plot armor
except kai
>sell out the crew to Zeon
>"they didn't actually sell us out they saved us!"
I wanted them beaten
>they're morons who act with morons and actually deal with the consequences of being morons unlike morons in zeta and 079 who just get carried by plot armor
What are you talking about? Most of the morons in Zeta were dead by the end.
If it helps, ZZ becomes legitimately good halfway through when it drops the comedic focus for good.
Thread was good until some moron decided to start arguing with himself.
What do you mean? I don't see anything?
Man I really need to learn how filters work on mobile.
Finally got ahold of your emotions, ai troon?
Probably saw the there wasn't yet another ai thread so he made a boogey man as an excuse to post.
Just filter and ignore imo.
I don't know a thing about gundam and I don't plan on changing it but I like putting model kits together.
Frick stickers
that's fine, I don't know anything about maschinen krieger but I like the kits
I don't get it why do people say not to get a more expensive kit for your first one because you will mess it up? if you don't attempt to paint it what is there to ruin?
also my favorite gundam game was sdgo. rip playing with the lagging pieces of shit from /m/.
>what is there to ruin
The kit. Proper nub cutting, sanding, etc. You don't know how to do that correctly right away.
how hard can it be? I do stuff like this for a living
I used to be scared of supposedly more complex kits, but then I learned that they're the same thing as simpler kits, only with more stuff, so they take longer.
The thing about not buying an expensive kit is so that, if you're not enjoying building it, then at least you didn't waste 50-7-60 bucks. You can see what the hobby is about for like 15, so why go for the expensive ones when you don't know if you'll like it?
>double zeta
>mfw trying to put on a small sticker
>have only used GW Warhammer models
>Friend shows me some Gundam stuff
>No mold lines
>No sprue marks

Fricking opened my eyes
I bought the Grey Knights combat patrol since a friend kept bugging me that he wanted us to play warhammer. Putting them together was so fricking annoying compared to gunpla. I think some of the instructions even had numbers wrong. I didn't like painting them much, either, but it was okay.
Also, the ammount of plastic in that box was comparable to master or real grade kits, yet it was twice as expensive as a master grade. That's not counting the paint.
Frick GW.
Yeah I buy both and GW need to go frick themselves because holy shit the engineering on the gunpla
>tooless
That's only true for Entry Grade kits though
For the father of the "real robot" genre there is a lot of dumb super robot shit
Don't let Ganker tell you gunpla is for autistic losers. Gunpla is for winners, like you and me. We're winners. We may not have girlfriends or long penises, but we have our plastic robots. I personally have built only two gunpla. One little midget one with a cool sword and one proper one with a badass SMG. I didn't feel gay or emasculated while building either of them and that's because I'm a real man with real hobbies. Real hobbies like gunpla and my penis is average sized, despite what my ex says.
Trying too hard.
>obvious joke
>bro, trying too hard fr fr no cap
Sorry, I'll try make my jokes more Zoomer-friendly next time.
I know it was a joke. And you were still trying too hard.
