I think many glowing reviews were from the hype train, and people that didn't get farther than act 1 before writing a review. I think a lot of them are just people with poor taste as well, but that's life. The game is certainly popular, it sold very well. I just think it's bad. I went into it wanting to like it and expecting it to be good, too, it's not like I wanted to hate it from the get-go.
>Really? That's how you're ought to play OG BG
Yes. Getting 5 friends to form a party of minmaxed custom characters for a pure evil playthrough where everyone must die is the most fun you can have in these games
>1 good run >1 evil run >1 co-op run minmaxing characters and fricking around with friends.
this is how you are supposed to play it.
you're probably a zoomer homosexual posing as a crpg gamer, but before you were born RPGs, both tabletop and computer were a social activity.
I never had friends who would play this kind of games with me
I just did my own party the third time
I once tried to play Heroes 3 with my friends it didn't end well
All they would play was CS and PES on the playstation
Man I want to like MMOs. I love the idea of a living game world filled with other players. I want to be part of that. But I just don't. I've tried to. I want to. But I just never can.
Don’t. Do something in person and together - it’ll be much better for you and for your friendships.
Set up a regular night to actually meet up and do shit
If you want a real MMO with real communities and social interactions, you want to played Ultima Online Outlands/a SWG server/FFXI Horizons. However, as aforementioned, it will take you hundreds of hours to make any real "progress", and is a tremendous time sink. Furthermore, the nature of private servers is ephemeral. They are often started up by people during a brief period in their lives when they have a lot of free time, but after a few years that window is over and the server begins changing hands or closes down, and sometimes the mods are known to cheat or bully people.
If you play a modern MMO like GW2, it's not really an MMO. It's pretty much an action game that can be played co-op. You're not going to get that community interaction or that immersive feel, but you can have fun playing with friends in those games. The best modern MMOs to play with friends are probably GW2 and ESO, and if you like doing mythic+ dungeons, then also retail WoW (but be warned that the new player experience in WoW sucks).
>any reccomendations?
Yes. Don't.

Only normies play singleplayer games in co-op. Learn about things like immersion and freedom. D&D is not a singleplayer game, you miserable fool.
>freedom
>plays crpgs
anon, I think you should learn a thing or two. Get some friends and play D&D. You'll find crpgs a bit lackluster after that.
I never had friends who would play this kind of games with me
I just did my own party the third time
I once tried to play Heroes 3 with my friends it didn't end well
All they would play was CS and PES on the playstation
get new friends
You could give guild wars 2 a shot

Play PSO1.
MMOs are hamster wheels of brainless cattle like you so I'm sure you and your sheep friends manage to find one all on your own.
Classic EverQuest Project1999 (Green) Server
you mean Project Quarm.
I'm feeling a bit generous, go play Bannerlord's 'Persistent Empires' mod, pleb.
Is bannerlord good yet?
Yes, only if you're not a homosexual. Are you a homosexual?
NO IM NOT
i just heard its unifinished in development hell that all
Ultima Online, it's still the king of the genre. But I would highly suggest you to play on a free shard.

How many friends? You'll need atleast 2 to make a good treasure hunting party in Ultima Online.
What other good games can i play with my bro besides the ones described in this thread. I've heard of Outward but idk if its good enough yet.
Worms Armageddon
Dungeons and Dragons Online
Minecraft is the best mmorpg currently in the market
ragnarok online
Guild Wars 2.
Base game is free and expansions are one time pay only.
You can get to max level even in the base game.
FF14 has the first 2 expansions for free now. That can give you guys months of gameplay to go through if you do all the side content etc.
