Offline MMOs are shit. They miss the point of MMOs completely. No one likes the brainless grind. People play MMOs either for PVP or end-game dungeons and raids. Xenoblade just takes the grind and amplifies it.

>muh all MMOs are shit now
The only reason anyone pretends FFXIV is shit is to a: be contrarian or b: they heard it was shit in 1.0 and refuse to accept it has gotten as good as it has.
>this game is the most successful MMORPG right now but surely someone saying it's good is just lying to me to upset me on purpose there's no other explanation
I'm sorry for making fun of you for being a contrarian. Your fedora looks super cool, anon.
You forgot C: poorgays.
Forgot about that one since I stopped hating sub-based MMOs the second I was old enough to get a job.
Besides the aforementioned, does anyone have any more recommendations for offline MMORPGs. For some reason, this style of game interests me.
There aren't a lot of options out there.
You could maybe look into Wurm Unlimited. Pretty sure you can do whatever the frick you want with that game including hosting a server for your friends, but I haven't looked into it much.
>Wurm Unlimited.
I actually did several years ago. I bought it, but never got around to learning it and properly having a go at it. I should probably get back to it.
I hated Zodiac Age. It took all the imagination out of making up classes from the license board railroading you into 12 shitty jobs and locking spells behind jars in tge middle of nowhere. Every xhange from FF12 was worse.
Ffxii isn't an offline MMO, positioning doesn't matter and it doesn't work off cooldowns. It's a RTwP rpg, and a bad one at that.
I wish ffxi worked offline on it's console versions
I'll take ffxii rtwp over most other implementations
>It's a RTwP rp
If positioning doesn't matter it's not RTwP
Also, positioning often wasn't very important for MMOs of that era, either.
It is a offline mmorpg.
You mean .hack//G.U.
It's literally an offline MMORPG.
there's something about games simulating real life players with npcs

Zoomer post
This must be what morons actually believe and thus why MMOs have become the shit they are.
Thanks moron. You ruined everything.

I am just going to assume you are either a willing attempt at trolling or a terminal case of brain trauma and let you be.

Loved XBX, FFXII made me fall asleep.

I never played XII outside of TZA but I enjoyed playing it. Would love to mod in 3 Penelos and just enjoy the ass show tho.

are there any offline mmorpgs with char creation
Kingdoms of Amalur has one, but it's nothing to write home about.
