I think that gets hazy when straying from what is considered bog standard sexy. Because as a man I'm definitely not interested in the sort of "sexy" man some women like that is more effete and lithe. Not all women go for the burly tough guy, we're seeing more sensitive meek men depicted because a not insignificant amount of women go for that sort of thing.
The point is, there's practically no seething jealousy prominent among men whenever they see a sexy dude in video games.
Journalists will have a problem with actual sexy men (sexy from the point of view of straight women) if they ever succeed in their mission to eradicate the things they have problems with right now. The devs currently remove those men largely and replace them with ugly women anyway.
