Postal 2 does it better
You can just do whatever
Don't kill anything, it doesn't care
Wasn't some advertising for it "It's only as violent as you are?"
Doesnt beat you over the head for killing fake aggressive monsters
>Don't kill anything, it doesn't care
the game doesn't react to anything to anything you do, and according to this anon, that is a good thing >Wasn't some advertising for it "It's only as violent as you are?"
there is nothing to do in the game besides violence >Doesnt beat you over the head for killing fake aggressive monsters
it does make the game tedious and almost impossible when you try to go pacifist
Disingenuous or pseud. While you can technically do it, it's barely accounted for by the devs, more of a challenge/exploit run.
Iji is a great example of thoroughness and responsiveness, but my favorite example is Metro 2033. It's not obvious at all that you are opening an ending. Both endings are satisfying. IIRC good ending is an option you unlock, but can make the other choice as well. Ties beautifully into the story how various acts of mercy, trust, and curiosity add up to a whole other resolution.
And then Last Light beats you over the head with >mutant child will remember that

your goals are specifically non-violent. that's not an accident. and they track kills and give you a ranking at the end based on how many people you killed or not.
they understand how people play games and designed P2 to be open
Just because it's technically possible to do it doesn't actually mean there's any expectation to actually finish it that way.
Hell this goes for Undertale, too, which was deliberately designed in several places to try to get you to kill a monster, but go back and fix it.
Really the only reason people DAY 1, went through the entire game not killing a single thing is because the demo existed and Toby nerfed the Vegetoids.
the whole "pacifism gimmick" isnt even the main focus toby had with UT either.
its a metanarrative about how you as the player are essentially a god to the NPCs, and questions your moral authority to give the characters that you love the "best outcome possible" using said god powers.
even then, there are two times where the game gives you shit for killing a monster >killing in the ruins, which is just flowey being a shithead >killing papyrus, who is the one singular monster in the game that absolutely cannot kill you under any circumstance.
People that actually like Undertale like both
Well sometimes.
I know there's a lot of people that play Undertale that really don't like swear words and indecency.
>because toby piggybacked off of homestuck's fame.
Undertale got popular on starmen.net and Ganker first back in 2012-2013.
The literal 1 homestuck thing that Toby even mentioned in the Kickstarter got bought by a pedophile cultist grifting fatfur.
Yes you dumb animal we know Toby Fox composed for homestuck and put the funny mpreg song in pokemon for the lulz, that's not who showed up for Undertale.
and several times better at that
cope
how is it better?

I beat the game pacifist
Sounds like you need to get good
Lmao
and isn't it significantly harder and less fun than pacifist?
I've only played Postal 2 once
I did it pacifist
The only annoying bit was the gimp part
>I've only played Postal 2 once
>I did it pacifist
Sure aniki
I did
Really the biggest problem with the game is Postal Dude moves so fricking slowly
Harder yes, but nothing is stopping you from kiting and having fun that way. As long as YOU don't make the kill, it doesn't count as a kill.

the 2033 good ending is not about pacifism
pacifism is only one of the 999 things that may help you with that goal
>don't kill anyone
>piss on everybody
this one did the whole "the npcs are real people!" thing the best
can't believe an hour went by before I realized I forgot the image
Alright.

that alone shouldnt leave much up to imagination about why the fanbase is the way that it is.

Enter.
But there's no reward or pay off for being a pacifist in Postal 2 asides a cheevo.
I got the Jesus rank
God I love this game. Postal 2 and the expansions (including the post apocalyptic one) are amazing.
How's 4? Is it worth it?
>How's 4? Is it worth it?
NO
Sadly no, the game sucks as much as Postal 3
>Must do morally good run to get the good ending in Postal 3
