Why did they copy 'Octopath Traveler' when it's garbage? Looks like chinkpigs are even worse than jarpigs.
should they have copied your gay sex simulators instead?
literally anything and everything that country produces is a ripoff of some kind. why should video games be any different?
What's worse is that they are trying to hijack the culture of Japs. WeabBlack folk are ignorant of this.
A lot of people see this, but there's little to do about it, other than try to ignore chink garbage, which I do.
>WeabBlack folk
It's Weeb not weab, also any real weeb would notice in an instance that the setting isn't anything weeb.
t. weeb but also read Jin Yong novels.
There's always been an interplay, especially if you look at the history of the Asian Internet. I would bet that the amount of weeaboos in China has always been much higher than in the West, which is why, for example, Mandarin was one of the first languages that the original Ace Attorney game was fully fan-translated into (and released long before the official English localizations), despite the fact that romhacking was in its infancy back then.
And then there are almost 30-year-old sites like PTT (older than 2ch), which has been discussing ACG for decades and is still active today. Niconico also gave rise to Chinese sites like AcFun or BiliBili early on, which are still very popular today.
Nothing like this ever happened in the West.
Stop trying to explain things to amerimutts, let them wallow in their moronation.
that shit is so true, the chinese have zero shame about ripping things off. it's like they are completely incapable of original thought. i read a xianxia story a while back and it had iron man and hulk analogues in it.
Wait until you learn that the Japanese rip everything off, too
there's some holdout ainu blood in japan though, but yeah, they are basically chinks.
From the looks of it the game is more of a rip off of live a live then Octopath at least from a gameplay perspective unless your just shitting on the hd-2d thing at which point just admit you hate the graphics and stop wasting peoples time.
Being a contrarian on an anonymous image board isn't an interesting personality.
Ugly Art = Ugly Game = Do not Play
getting fricked in the ass by 20 men in a single day isn't considered originality by anyone
No, but then again, originality isn't your mother's strong suit.
Don't recommend even pirating it right now, it has a lot of minor issues that will require patching
the first update is live and it fixes most of the issues I had with it
what issues in particular? i stole a release copy but haven't been motivated to actually launch it yet
missing resolution options
you can option the menu during cutscenes which locks you, forcing you to restart the game
that is some authentic indie dev issues, kinda love it
easy enough to avoid at least
Why is this board so shit? 16 replies and only one is on-topic.
The only chinese games I have enjoyed are from Heluo Studio and the things that made them work are not really here. I will give it a try though
>chinkshit
What did you honestly expect
>Chinkino
Brb. Day 5 pirate.
How's it compare to tales of wuxia or any other game from that studio?
Only compaeing the open world part, Wandering Sword is better than the 2 Tale of Wuxia games so far. I'm still at early game though so who knows if it will fall apart later on though.
I just have zero interest in medieval Asian settings and when the game looks that similar to Octopath Traveller without being made by Square-Enix, I feel a bit suspicious and want nothing to do with it at all.
No but I want to cause it has cultivation.
Too busy with RL shit for at least another week tho.
I saw the dev shilling it on the noveltranslations subreddit so I'll take a look soonish
will play it tomorrow but to the anti's that don't like them ripping off octopath's visuals here's a similar game without the rip off visuals but it's EA and a lot more ambitious
>the anti's
the what?
He means people who don’t like the game
Twitterspeak is weird. First antis were anti-fans, then anti-communists, then anti-koreaslop, now back to anti-fans.
Anti has always meant "oppose"
just play this while you wait for heluo's next game, it's the product of taking elements from all of their games and if wandering sword becomes a hit maybe tencent will finally put a proper en translation for their next game
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2340650/_/
No.
>heluo's next game
>https://store.steampowered.com/app/2340650/
Is Path of Wuxia already out of EA and finished?
it's been done since nov last year with a monthly updates for the translation
https://github.com/Magxm/PoW-Loader/releases
oof... I've been skipping it during sales because I thought it was still in EA. Chinese games usually get stuck in EA for very long.
they even release a side project called Traveler of Wuxia, it's a spin off/sequel to Ho Tu Lo Shu and its wuxia + slay the spire
ok so I took a look and they're asking me to give em 20 eurobuckaroos for an indie game from an unproven indie dev? the risk is too much homie, where the demo at?
>where the demo at?
There was one in the next fest, it was really good. Don't know why they don't still have the demo now.
I picked up the full game but I haven't had much time to play it yet. The gamepad controls are fricking horrendous though, I don't remember them being that bad in the demo, you definitely want to play this with M&K.
It's okay. Have a difficulty spike soon at Mount Wanzi main quest right after the open world open up so I've been doing sidequests.
The story is classic Wuxia stuff. Game doesn't explain all the common Wuxia tropes so newbies can expect to be confused.
Translation is competent. Not perfect English but miles ahead of other Chinese games like Tales of Wuxia.
just wait a month. and download it for free once the issues are fixed
While I will always love the idea of being a young master who aligns his yin yang and destroys several multiverses worth of enemies with a forbidden palm technique Tale of Wuxia taught me to be cautious with Chinese games. I liked Tale for the moments where it was fricking legible though
>Tale of Wuxia
>b***h be jealous
My god, what an awful translation. This is why I can't play Chinese games.
I honestly think chinkglish is part of the charm, like a terrible dub on a martial arts movie
Ah, yeah, I'm a sub only kind of guy.
>eop problems
If you ever had to learn more than one language you would be able to parse most of the mtl shit just fine, having sensible chuckles over unintentionally funny shit in the process.
Nah, I used to play Jap VNs with text hookers and I obviously got the gist, I'm just done with that shit. If they don't care to provide a quality translation, not overly localized either, then I don't care to play their game.
Fair enough, i like wuxia, xianxia etc so i get by with what is available. I would kill for something like Jade Empire gracing us again but at the very best we get things like Sifu, which is while decent not exactly the style i want.
I love xianxia and wuxia too, but even there I cannot abide poor translations. It's even worse when I know the lingo and meanings myself and the translator doesn't and fricks it up. When there is stuff done well like I Shall Seal the Heavens or Jin Yong, I don't want to deal with mediocrity. There's supposed to be a better translation coming for Tales of Wuxia, eventually, though progress is glacial, so I'll wait.
wasn't this getting fan translated or something
is it still buggy?
Can't self-insert in it so it's a hard pass for me.
Can't you autistic sons of morons keep this shit contained in actual BG3 trheads?
They can't, anon, they have nothing intelligent to say and crave attention. So, don't reply to them, anon, that's what they want.
A shameless rip-off of Square-Enix, with zero creativity. Shame on you.
Of course moronic BG3 fans would approve this game, because they have never heard of creativity in their entire lives.
all it did was rip the style. There isn't a single Square game that really plays like any of the wuxia RPGs. You're moronic
You will always remain a creativity-free, dishonest scumbag with zero integrity. Insects are above you in the social hierarchy.
looks like I hit a nerve KEK
Keep shilling your gacha mobile games.
the game is neither gacha nor a mobile game, though.
Sure it is just like all those squeenix mobile gatcha games it is ripping off..... Wait a minute!
Yeah, just eunuchs, mongoloids, and other Asiatic mongrels.
this shit reminds me of some chink java games I played when I was small. How nostalgic
I might know exactly what you're talking about, but there were a ton of wuxia/wulin chinese java rpg's since pc games were dead in china at the time aside from browser stuff
Playing it for some 30 minutes makes me appreciate what goes into "normal" RPGs
Something simple like text appearing in a box word by word rather than instantaneously adds quite a bit.
You're telling me you don't immediately go into the options menu and set text speed to "0" to make it appear instantly?
5 hours in I am enjoying it quite a bit
I expected it to be more linear than it is
Are there actual characters/npcs involved in the story or do you just go beating up people/enemies from crisis to crisis and getting stronger?
theres a central plot with lots characters and factions but I've spent most of my time doing side quests
Plays much better on keyboard and mouse than controller. What the hell were they thinking with those bindings.
It looks pretty good, rpgfan mentioned some good things that's up my alley
Anyone know where to find Sturgeons?
>30 minutes into the game and everyone betrays each other
everyone is a fricking rat except my groomed wife xiaotang
>30 minutes into the game and everyone betrays each other
realistic simulation of working with chinesicans.
Us this tame/sanitized wuxia. Like taking western sensibilities seriously.
Where are the jade-like beauties?
>bawd
Where's my pure untouched jade beauty harem?
All these games UI feels very similar to each other, but not exactly.
These games are closely inspired by Heluo games, the meridian system in wandering sword is copied but a nerfed version as it's your primary source of stats but in HTLS you get hidden stat bonuses like intellect, physique in select tress but provides more on crits/eva/combo/debuffs and it loops back around itself, want I want they ripoff more is the ingame achievements that reward your current save for accomplishing a task like get to level x in 7/30 days in game time
Internal power looks like Internet Power, of which mine is 99.
>prefers crude drugs
hot
>MP, not Qi
>Strength, not Wugong
>Constitution, not Qigong
>Agility, not Qinggong
>Internal Power, not Neigong
Yawn.
>something legible not chingchong
might as well keep it in chinese at that point
Why are the points to cast spells called Mana in normal fantasy RPGs? It's part of the fantasy. Maintain the fantasy in a translation, play to the setting's strengths.
Qi determines your turn speed moron
>moron calls me moron
I assume that's "Qi G."? Another horrible translation of Qi gathering?
calls me moron
that means you're a double moron btw
A moron calling me moronic when they are too moronic to know when something is moronic doesn't make me moronic, moron. If anything it'd make them moronic2.
>If anything it'd make them moronic2
that makes you a quintuple moron btw
>t. moronic^4
>2 morons with brain vein blood blockade arguing
I already won my argument. Now we're just joking around, moron. Relax.
>t. moron courting death
>nooooooo, you can't court death
Is she your fiancée or something, homosexual?
moron, you dare?!
I liked the demo. But the most important question is: how are the waifus?
I'm 8 hours in and I'm still yet to find any aside from these two
I haven't run into any bugs yet.
Good to know, fellow cultivators.
So far I have found three: Generic sword waifu that learns how to dance, genki pure machete waifu that is kind of a dumbass genius type and most recently found tomboy spear waifu who you fake marry to get her out of having to actually marry and she constantly teases you. However the characters are kinda weird because after you finish their quests they just become kinda stat sticks and you can finish their quests VERY quickly.
I am ready and eager to download after a few bug patches because from what I hear, it's a mess now.
It's fine so long as you use M+KB, the controller support is mostly theoretical right now.
massive difficulty spike after leaving the first area
jeez
Seems like you're expected to follow the story for a couple more events before trying to do any open world stuff.
The next plot area gives you an op escort who babysits you and lets you easily grind the Bandit Leaders for good drops
something funny, items you gift to npcs appear in their inventories that can be dropped from sparring them and I've been gifting the same item 3x now and triggered his companion quest, I'm still doing the tutorial
>Give a girl a flower
>Punch her and take the flower back along with her food recipes
Do you need to keep the cultivation methods equipped to gain the effects of their level 5 passives?
So far only the incomplete sutra has specified an equip condition
Sell me this game. I like me some Wuxia setting. Do you learn any highly dangerous martial art that require you to cut off your dick or drink blood to keep you blood from cooling? Or it just preset skill sets for every characters?
>Do you learn any highly dangerous martial art that require you to cut off your dick or drink blood to keep you blood from cooling
This game isn't set in california, no.
Tale of Wuxia does have the 'remove balls' inner art, but that has to do with Eunuch culture
>eunuch culture
Nah, Bixie is a b***h, see?
It's a reference to a martial art called Sunflower Manual. Basically it got invented by some enuch but later got moved to Shaolin Temple and got stolen. Only men can practice it but they have to cut off their dicks first as a requirement. It's a metaphor about how men ready to give up everything for power.
morons going straight up mathematical
>new update gurantees drops from sparring
Thank god I've spent 4hrs cleaning out the starting village now I can clean out the world much faster
it was based on affinity
does it do nothing now?
still needs affinity to at least reach 20 where previously it was drop rate percentage was equal to their affinity
Patch notes mention you can now get 1 to 3 items from sparing once. Affinity probably affects that
>Patch notes talk about characters dying
It's a good thing I can't remember any of these Chinese names.
it's really remarkable how godawful i am with that
korean names too
years of reading chink novels has given me the ability to remember han chinese names with ease but any other ethnicity like cantonese is fricking impossible
same with korean
>years of reading chink novels has given me the ability to remember han chinese names with ease but any other ethnicity like cantonese is fricking impossible
What's the difference?
cantonese names go like Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor
and mandarin han names are things like lin feng or something simple
It's literally the same thing just with different pronunciation. If you weren't a pleb you'd just read the 汉字 and there'd be no difference
Tummy
finally not a sausage fest anymore
WHERE
do the toad hide quest in pingwink city
pingkang*
do recruited characters talk to you or are they just voiceless party members
they all have quests associated with them to even recruit them and then further quests as you raise their affinity to gain new skills
How do i farm points efficiently?
do you get a bonus for maxing out the basic cultivation method. you know le solid foundation meme
each cultivation method level gives you max MP and HP and "meridian points" which you use to buy "perks"
>each cultivation method level gives you max MP and HP and "meridian points" which you use to buy "perks"
so you keep the increased stats. I thought they were tied into the cultivation method
man, back when I played the demo, the devs assured everyone the lack of difficulty and stupidly bloated numbers would be fixed in the end product but it's still just as braindead as before.
Any other Wuxia titles that offer more mechanical complexity? Heard good stuff about Ho Tu Lo Shu
HoTuLoshu has an interesting open world approach where you cna take multiple quest resolutions, reputation matters for shit available to you, martial arts and party members and there are tons of builds to make. However, if you only go each time for things close to your powerlevel and steal a lot of sutras, it's easy to avoid challenges. Plus, quite a few things are hidden in a weird way. Also, translation is ass and this matters more in this kind of game where clues and people mentioned span far more shit compared to Tales and Path of Wuxia
Hero's Adventure has similar systems and has a more open world approach and more ways of iteractions with
How is the updated controller support?
easy way to grind martial points?
Is the stuff they've been updating major enough that I should wait a little longer to start on the game or is it fine to just start now?
start now they let you easily regain your gifted items
alright, successfully shilled me into this
>no character creation
fuggggg
oh well
what meridians should I focus on?
Always focus on the ones directly to the left and right initially. One will give Agi and IP, the other gives evasion and movement speed.
Ip makes you get more turns (and MP) and the agi/move speed from getting the first 3-4 in each of these should give every character +1 move range which helps massively.
Also a bit later on get the meridian that gives you a 15% chance to get another turn instantly. Costs 600 points in total but it's a massive help and can trigger multiple times in a row (I've had 4 turns in a row with it)
when you talk to sun the physcian. pick the second option. he'll give you stat boosting items
Xianxia bros, how's Sword and Fairy 7?
Watched a gameplay vid. Translation seems MTL but the higher grade of MTL where at least most things make sense. Still, the dialogue is weird and stilted
By Chinese game standards the translation is superb.
Conception > penetration > yang meridians. The rest dont matter
>Conception > penetration
normally it's the other way around hehe
Girdle gives you a lot of Evade chance which is really strong if you stack it. But in truth you should just be shoving every Meridian pill into the MC so he can just dip into everything anyways. Only way he can stay competitive, dudes stats are weak as hell.
Salvation staff is fricking disgusting
>mfw when I realize "sparring" for items is essentially legal mugging
Am I an butthole for cleaning out regular folks inventories?
Most of the items they have are worthless, I only bother doing it if they have a recipe I haven't learned and even then you can sometimes get duplicate recipes from chests and other stuff so it might not be worth doing
>beating the shit out of the weak and elderly just to get a cooking recipe
chink-sama, I knee
Has anyone found any recruitable characters that use fists? The only one I've found so far was the Pingkang City Martial Club guy, but doing his quest made him go psycho mode because I kicked his ass too much, so he's no longer an option.
>but doing his quest made him go psycho mode
what do you mean?
I did his quest and I got a full party with him
my MC is a fist weapon user to I'll need to replace him with someone else
having 5 movement range also means you can just keep stringing back attacks on enemies
Have you done part 2 of his quest, where he asks you to come with him to investigate a frost palm based murder? After I finished that quest he went nuts and tried to murder Yuwen Yi when we next went to town due to CYCLES OF GUILT or some shit since he got gaslit by an evil monk.
Huh, the only guy I can see in the Shaolin Temple that has the recruitable symbol is the badass saber guy (who I don't know how to recruit anyways).
yea, sorry he's not recruitable
i meant the young guy that challenges you to a duel or something
he's also present during main quest i think, idk, they ale rook the same
about badass saber guy
if you mean the redhead barbarian looking dude, go to the yanfu town next to the shaolin temple and theres a sidequest with him and some chick
There is a monk saber guy too. He wont be recruitable until much later on because he's strong as frick for how early you can encounter him.
in shaolin temple theres a guy i think
just finished it, ending is lackluster but overall really enjoyed it
can't help but feel either I missed something or theres a lot of plot points left unfinished because a few sidequests set things up and just never resolved them
theres the Condor girl you can eventually recruit, she uses fists
How are the girls anon?
all very pretty, even the generic girls
the character art in this is great
I have no idea, you get her after a sidequest in the red area in the west, I think I missed the other one she showed up in because the only other time I saw her before that was the sword tournament
most of the other standouts have been posted already but this is the main love interest
So you can't pick who you romance? The girl in red is pretty hot. I saw her on a lot of promo materials so I assumed you could.
>theres the Condor girl you can eventually recruit, she uses fists
She's not mutually exclusive with the guy you save from her, is she?
>just finished it, ending is lackluster but overall really enjoyed it
hope for more updates in the future then
thats the plan
its the kinda game I enjoyed but I'll wait 6-12 months to replay, to give time for enough updates to come out and for some other autist to write a full sidequest guide so I don't miss anything
still a little annoyed I didn't do Shangquan Hong's sidequest until like halfway through the game because I had no idea it would have a companion
Nope. For all the marketing that says your choices matter, the story is very railroaded. You only can join one sect, you only frick one girl. A shame too, because the red girl is a major character and most of the plot twists that work out in your favor are because she wants to frick you
>most of the plot twists that work out in your favor are because she wants to frick you
Absolutely based.
How long did the game take you?
>You only can join one sect
fricked up
can i at least steal everyone else's inners/skills?
yes, and its basically required if you want the MC to keep up with companions
about 35 hours, with as much exploration and side content as I could find but I'm still pretty sure I missed stuff. That or some side stories just don't have endings, which would be disappointing
>Nope. For all the marketing that says your choices matter, the story is very railroaded. You only can join one sect, you only frick one girl.
Fricking ruined
stealing this from steam forums
>but the endings only involve the main story characters and their affection with the MC.
> The main story characters' affections can only be raised via interaction events (no gifts) and not all interaction events are clear and easily found
maybe the different romance endings is based on the girl who has your max affinity? I really can't believe that your only have one romancable character in this game when the chinks are massive coomers, and if it is guess I'll just go back to Hero's Adventure to get my harem again
I really doubt that, as the ending has the MC leave their sect and journey with Xue, ending with them on the ledge from the title screen. Shes the clear intended love interest, down to the chance meeting for one day as children thing.
the chink guide says here there are 3 romancable girls and highest affinity gets the ending
https://www.bilibili.com/read/cv26593640/?spm_id_from=333.999.0.0
also maybe a harem ending? if you managed to have the same high affinity among the potential wives
>Whoever has the highest favorability in the end will be the outcome.
>Then the so-called harem ending is like most butter, controlled until the favorable feelings are consistent
yup
huh. 3 is an interesting number of potential romances. The bigger problem now as I think of it is I can't really think of any way to not end with 100 favor for the default girl. I can only remember one actual choice that would've impacted her favor, and there was more than enough moments in the main story for her to max out anyway
>Nope. For all the marketing that says your choices matter, the story is very railroaded. You only can join one sect, you only frick one girl. A shame too, because the red girl is a major character and most of the plot twists that work out in your favor are because she wants to frick you
I don't mind this honestly. When devs give you "choices" they tend to be lackluster. I'd rather have a railroaded main questline with large side quest scenarios
the bigger sidequests actually did have choices that mattered, as most of them had a main objective to do but unmarked side objectives that would really change the outcomes. Some recruited party members also had unprompted lines and even extra cutscenes for being in my party during the sidequests, like the wheelchair detective during the crow woman Beggar sidequest
I kept a save right before the point of no return so I might try and get the others favor up when I think its possible, to see what happens
>the bigger sidequests actually did have choices that mattered, as most of them had a main objective to do but unmarked side objectives that would really change the outcomes. Some recruited party members also had unprompted lines and even extra cutscenes for being in my party during the sidequests, like the wheelchair detective during the crow woman Beggar sidequest
good to know
just loaded that save and ran through a bit to get to the last time they're in your party, I don't see any possible way to max out either other potential option, so I must have missed some affinity options very early or something. Bummer, but this is why a guide would be handy for a second playthrough
Star Ocean 2 did it right 25 years ago and for some reason no one else copied them
what did they do
NTA but there were a huge number of endings.
Each of the 12 party members had an individual ending, a paired ending with every other character, and a few more complicated endings possible, so there were dozens of possible endings based on how your characters friendship and romance points with other party members ended up.
In addition to that there were various items you could use to raise or lower affection values, and it could also be changed in battle by having characters get KO'd or win battles in the same party. That's in addition to all the story-based changes throughout the game.
So you can actually romance other characters?
Yes, although the system for doing so is pretty unintuitive. If you don't look at a guide then you're very likely to have the main two characters end up together, but you can change that by manipulating private actions and using certain items (portraits).
Can you elaborate? I haven't started playing game because I heard it has its issues, but I have my eye on the chick in red
Sorry, I was referring to Star Ocean 2.
I don't know how it works in this game.
Wandering Sword does have multiple endings but it's looking like getting anything but the default girl's ending is like trying to get anyone but Colette on a blind playthrough of Tales of Symphonia
It's not that hard technically, since you get 3 highest options to choose from . But Collete not being the first, let alone one of the 3, that's unlikely on a blind run.
for me, it's sima ling
>stole the hidden weapon from the cripple as soon as he got into my party
>his abilities are so busted that he didn't even need it to destroy the 5000hp boss
at least I got some great gear for free
i regret not going into fists
I usually go swords but decided to go fists this time and it's pretty good
Getting a combo 5 times in a row with a 20% chance will never not be fun
Also, like they told you in the tutorial it's not too late to switch if you want
game would be pretty great if theyd let you join whatever faction you want
uh oh someone spilled their spaghetti
About rarity colour, from common to rare: grey, yellow, green, gold, red?
Is there a way to delete save slot?
Rarity is grey, green, blue, yellow, orange and red. This applies for items and martial arts.
>Is there a way to delete save slot?
press the cross button on the save file screenshot
Is anyone else getting random lag on the world/region map?
upgrade pc
Nah PC is less than a year old and can run PS5 ports fine, problem has to be game side.
Man the fight for Sima Ling's sidequest was actually pretty hard. But it was worth it because godDAMN her version of Baidi Whirling Sword is crazy. Sima Ling is kind of a monster in general if you build her the way she wants to be built (all in on crit).
Baldi's Basics - Swan works well with Drifting Cloud Swordplay
Can you only recruit 9 characters total out of the 14 possible recruits?
you can have 8 party members with you
if you dismiss the ones you have they go back to their home and free up your slot
okay that's good
Pretty certain you can recruit more than 8. The list expands and you can scroll down it. I haven't found any others I can recruit to test it yet though (know where a bunch are, just can't recruit them).
Have you gays experienced difficulty finding sidequests, doing optional content, that sort of thing?
some sidequests required me to go into high level areas or have hard mandatory encounters
as for finding them, just talking to NPCs in towns ends up drowning me in side quests.
sidequest npcs have a little scroll icon
but some sidequests trigger later in the main quest by just visiting the place, like beggars sect
Man, I only barely made it through the Crippleman's first quest and then we end up on a peach forest hill and he's like "ok you should rest up before we continue" and I just sort of left him there for the past several hours as I did other stuff. That forest doesn't seem very wheelchair accessible.
He has a DnD chair, he will be fine
So what is the current version of the game on steam?
>you are not strong enough to give this character a gift.
How am I supposed to learn new moves?
get stronger with better gear
your power ranking should be close to their power ranking
Get stronger. Remember, always focus on learning cultivation moves first since they are how you get stronger. You will get a bunch from the main story and side quests and some of the early characters you recruit will teach you some for cheap.
holy frick this game is a lot more fun in real time
>lost a few hours of progress because I entered a high level area
are there any similar games? i hear chinese arent translating a lot of them.
similar as in setting?
yeah, a lot of chinese games on steam are based of wuxia
thanks brothers.
yeah wuxia rpgs, from rags to riches stories, like a lot of old kungfu movies.
i cant stand wrpg homosexualry anymore and while japs dont have as much it's usually all accumulated in the protag.
There are more I'm waiting on translations if they ever release one or a fanTL amd if it's in unity you can use MTL, the negative reviewed one has 3 chink curators recc it and I follow the most followed curators even the not eng ones

You might want to make the distinction between Wuxia and Xianxia then. Both have Qi balls and CULTIVATION, but Wuxia is usually more grounded with some romanticized historical context, set in some specific Chinese Dynasty and characters become powerful demigod-like sect masters at most. Xianxia is often all made up with ancient evils awakening, gods intervening freely, MC being the chosen one from some fairy race, etc. they can go anywhere.
These for example fall under Xianxia.
>Gujian 3
>Sword and Fairy 7
>Xuan Yuan Sword 7
>Tale of Wuxia is in semi-understandable English and it's all-around decent
>Path of Wuxia from the same devs has an English mod. The third act/year supposedly sucks.
>Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion is a bit more open and still in EA but it also has readable English
>If you want something more grindy there's Scroll of Taiwu (mod) or Tale of Immortal (in-game translation)
>If you want chink Harvest Moon play Immortal Life
That's all what I played. I heard that HoTuLoShu is also fun and if you want "classics" Xuan-Yuan Sword III appeared recently on Steam
Fate Seeker got TL by the same guy that TL Ho Tu Lo Shu but the puzzle are too chinese so you'll eventually need a guide for it
Faith of Danschant got it's fanTL done last month
觅长生 hae a fanTL in the workshop
Matchless Kungfu is out in EA
Also some chink 3d action games
Gujian 3
Sword and Fairy 7
Xuan Yuan Sword 7
The Wind Road
there's rainblood chronicles mirage, which's a mediocre action platformer, and amazing cultivation simulator which pretends for an hour to be a base management sim but then turns into autistic xianxia nonsense
What did Yi mean by this?

Who wouldn't want to travel with little girls that can HEEM mike tyson
>Wei Huo has substantially better stats than the MC
>Wei Huo acts slower, takes more damage, and does less damage than the MC
I don't get it.
Qi Gathering is speed. Kind of strange name for it but that determines how often a character gets a turn.
Outside of that, probably has to do with weapon mastery. Wei Huo has awful weapon mastery for most everything, even polearms isn't that good.
MC gets a free +100 qi gathering talisman in the opening
Polearms are a defensive AOE support weapon
Your gear matters way more than your attributes which is why Yang meridian directly boosts your crit rate and attack instead of strength
Copper where?
There are deposits on Mount Wanzi (the bandit camp). Also maybe in the snake cave?
I like swords but how are the other weapon types. Sabers seem cool.
fist > saber > sword > polearm
i cant really tell where to put hidden weapon, seems like shit and op at the same time
From what I have seen of weapons so far...
Swords are pretty common but solid. Decent damage and range but nothing too fancy or wild.
Sabers have short range but can hit large groups of enemies. Damage seems ok but the moves for them are harder to find unless you go out and look for them.
Polearms have even larger AOE than sabers, but seem to lack damage. They have a ton of self buffs though and seem to be focused around increasing survivability.
Fists have short range and are usually single target. They have ok damage but a lot of their attacks either buff yourself or debuff the enemy and you will quickly build up and do insane damage.
Hidden Weapons, high damage and long range. Probably the rarest weapon type to find attacks for. Most of the attacks seem to inflict status effects like poison and bleed for even more damage though.
If you ask me, I'd say over all fist is the best weapon type. They do start out a bit weak but middle of the game they are insane.
Sword and hidden weapons are about the same to be honest. Good range and damage.
Then sabers after this. They have damage but the lack of range hurts them a lot. They also don't often get to use their AOE attacks optimally (they might be able to hit 3-6 enemies at once, but you'll usually only hit 1-2).
Then last is polearms. The defensive buffs they have just barely seem to matter. You might get +50% defence and evasion but take almost the same damage anyway and the loss of damage just isn't worth it.
you can get salvation strike really early in the game and its pretty broken
AOE attack and sets up regeneration on your character. At level 10 heals every ally in range for 10% of their HP. You send in your polearm user and let him absorb all hits while giving the rest of your team easy formations to land AOE attacks.
Yeah but it very quickly falls off.
Maxed out it has 389 attack and costs almost 600 mp. The healing is ok but it's 8% a turn or 10% to allies, which isn't a whole lot to be honest.
Boss enemies can hit me for 1000-2000 damage easy. That 10% healing I receive is equal to about 550 hp. (I've got a fist move that heals the user for 800 Hp plus heals 15% Hp/Mp to the user and all allies in the AOE).
That healing just isn't worth the really low damage it deals.
are the saves cloud-synched? about to head to the hospital and won't have access to my pc for a few days
I just installed the game on my laptop to check, and my saves are all there.
You can also find the saved files at (C:Users<your PC's name>AppDataLocalWandering_SwordSaved)
if you want to manually transfer them over.
aight, thanks anon. good to know.
This game is good. Any other good wuxia/xianxia rpg games?
Oh frick you game
I like the aesthetic, thought I'd never say that about this hd2d style
anons i have never played a game like this before but im getting really into wuxia stuff after I started watching some shows
should I pick this up or something else first?
You can start with this, it's pretty easy to get into
Tale of Wuxia is also good as a starting point if you think you would like it better
>Currently, gathering levels do not do anything, but we're aiming to address this in the future! Stay tuned for updates 🙂
>steam forum screenshots has a picture of the final boss slaughtering the Shaolin temple
What the frick, how
>possibly the harem ending
damn, looking through these screenshots and seeing some of the stuff I missed is making me want to do another playthrough now instead of waiting for a guide
didnt' spoiler it last time but Xiaotong is the 3rd girl
Considering what happened with her father and the previous high priestess, I was fully expecting her to be the main love interest
would have been kino if all that adventuring had actually resulted in time passing and meeting her later as a young woman but this is still an indie game and can't have the possibility of western backlash
I don't think a chinese indie studio gives a frick about western backlash
not this one thou, they've paid multiple youtubers for coverage of this game and most if not all of the youtube coverage are paid, this is one is probably the first wuxia game that has a proper english translation and they're practically responding to all the reviews and questions in the forums
wtf? you okay but I'm not asking for time travel bullshit more like his travels lead him all over the place searching for her and insert time skip
They're responding and shilling here too obviously. This is the most embarrassing post they made so far
i was just trying to make a todd joke
>thinks we follow toddshit in this thread

>t. obsidiot

theres definitely more to it than I thought, because theres variations for the final scene based on what girl is with you, or potentially none of them
Do you have to complete Shangguan's 70 affinity quest before you can start Sima's questline, or is Sima's quest started by something else?
how long is this game?
devs said 20h but i finished the desert area and i have 40.
If you do all the side stuff, it's considerably longer than 20.
I'm already over 20 and haven't been outside the central overworld zone yet.
And while the areas to the West and North are smaller, I would not be surprised if their combined content is around the same amount of stuff I've already done.
Can you just sit on the world map and mug NPCs for meridian pills?
NPC personal inventories don't restock.
should I learn these skills right now or will I get their manuals?
if possible max out EVERY cultivation method you can find.
but to answer your question, maybe you'll find a manual, maybe you wont.
sometimes it's a random drop from a (mini)boss or a quest reward, but i wouldnt count on it.
Zen Demon Subduing Spell has a manual from a side quest but it's a fair bit into the game. I've not seen a manual for Golden Bell but it's a really good cultivation method for most of the game (maxed out you start every fight with a shield that blocks 20% of your max hp as damage and get +100 defence, and using it gives you another 20-30% hp shield).
Is there a list of all recruitable characters yet?
anyone got a list of people to consult for cultivation methods?
I'm only interested in the 2D horse riding.
Is it 4 directional or just side-scrolling? Or is it just a cutscene?
Horses are cutscene only I think, but I've been running around doing sidequests instead of the main one so I haven't met the girl in the picture
I just met her about twelve hours in (mostly side quests). She's playable and uses swords, not too far in if you rush the main story, event happens after three or so missions from the martial arts school you join. Feels like the end of zone 1.
25 hours in and I've just met her too
Kinda sucks how you're forced to lose all these fights in the story when I'm just crushing them
At least you sometimes get manuals out of it
It makes sense. MC is shit unless you run around and consult everyone. The hidden weapons guy carries my team and Wei Huo takes all the hits
Motherfricker, how? You realize that's the tutorial zone, right?
going by your hp you're insanely overpowered for that point in the game, thats like endgame tier
although I don't blame you, doing the fricking wheelchair man investigation mission early almost requires being that OP
thanks chinks for putting an endgame level fight in the first third of the game, and making it must win even though in story the MC is running away
Since you seem pretty far, do you ever get ice dick puncher back or is he permagone?
he's in the middle of some random forest
theres a way to keep him alive during his last quest and keep him as a companion, but if you already did that then its too late
there are 2 more fist companions later that are much better than him anyway
He didn't die in my game yet, just got arrested. I figured there was more because the evil monk guy hasn't been dealt with.
I'm taking things slowly and trying to see all the side content I can without a guide
I'm at the point where I'm defeating the elders and consulting their skills when I haven't even explored the other cut-off areas of the map
I was surprised by the wheelchair guy quest being that difficult for when you get it too (wasn't that hard for me though, for obvious reasons)
Here are my current stats for reference
Where do you find eyepatch guy? I just got to the desert and haven't met him. Who is the character beneath him, the beggar's sect hat guy?
Eyepatch guy is to the east in Yanfu town, near Shaolin
The other guy is Ye Fei, you have to complete wheelchair guy's quest in the south and then go to lotus lake to recruit him
frick, I remembered that guy saying he was taking the strategist's body somewhere and meant to follow up on it but I couldn't remember where
something to do next playthrough
There is a hard fight there that you're not supposed to win ( you can recruit him even if you lose) but if you do win you get a manual for this pretty cool saber skill
neat
I still want to put off another playthrough for a few months to let things like updates go through and guides get ironed out so I can actually get everything
Theres a weird number of dead end plotlines and unused areas. like the 2 forbidden parts of Wudang or the crow woman
Crow Woman is recruitable through the Beggar's sect questline apparently.
she shows up through that and gets affinity, but no one actually knows where or when to find her at the end of all of it to recruit her
We've found the fist user shes with, but she fricks off somewhere as part of their story
Maybe she isn't recruitable yet. Developer said there is 14 characters but with her I count 15.
shes marked as recruitable, but that does make it weirder. These are all the recruitable ones I can remember:
Wei Huo
Bai Jin
Chen Linxi
Shangguan Hong
Sima Ling
Kong Liang
Lu Xian'er
pointless sword girl
Ye Fei
wheelchair man
Frosty Condor
saber monk
former beggar fist man
beggar stick man
Crow woman
yeah that does make 15. So what the frick is her deal?
Damn, he's not at the lake despite my completing that quest. Must have missed the window.
his quest starts in Yanfu town, to the west of the shaolin temple
I missed him on my first playthrough too, as his quest becomes unavailable after a certain point in the story that I'm not 100% sure about
and yeah it looks like the Beggar's Sect hat guy underneath
iirc letting him get arrested is actually how you keep him alive, but I don't know all the details about his quest yet
Weird, both the dialogue options at Fancheng resulted in him not getting arrested for me.
going by the steam forum, it depends on his affinity, whether or not its over 70
apparently being under 70 is required for him to live
What's up with the event at the river crossing into the jungle zone where you can run into one of the dudes who tried to kidnap Xiaotong at the beginning of the game?
He was dying of poison so I tried to help him, mostly because he might have information, but he exploded anyway.
Seems like a really non-sequitur scene
I here I thought I was overleveled for that section with my 4k hp, but you've got half again as much as that.
Best reward I've gotten so far from winning an allowed loss fight is the crazy AoE blood cultivation method from when Condor shows up to kill Eyepatch in his recruitment quest
You mean this one right?
It isn't bad but the infinite four symbols that you can consult the wudang sect elders for basically doubles your attack so I mostly just use that even if the AOE is shit
That's the one.
Consult only lets the MC learn the skill.
That one if from a manual so your whole team gets it.
that event is just worldbuilding stuff
Xiaotong is going around getting revenge on the last few people left alive who killed her dad
you see her say something during that scene, her portrait is silhouetted but its her
No, I didn't see her during the scene because I ran into it before the visiting her dad's grave part of the main quest.
theres one more time she does it too, and you're guaranteed to see it as part of the main story when you go into the western region
You need to choose not to save the dude for her to appear
just a cutscene I think, the way you move in the overworld just you and your party running around
cutscene only
weaksauce.
"you can ride the horse" should be the next "you can pet the dog".
I mean for 2D games, it's never been done well.
do minibosses respawn?
a quest requires me to kill the boss in tigeroar cave but I already killed him before accepting the quest and now I can't progress
yes
>learned Soft Palm Strike
Fists are certainly the strongest weapon
This seems to be pretty powerful for being so cheap
Finished the game and the last fight was a pain in the ass. Tons of missable stuff that could make it borderline impossible (lot of characters vanish or die and you permanently lose recipes and cultivation methods if you haven't got them already).
How the hell are you expected to beat the second phase of Cao Yutian?
Figured it out for myself
You just need to survive 5 rounds. However, on turn 4 he does his frickhuge AOE ultimate so scatter everyone as wide as possible
whats the max level for abilities(forging etc)?
10?
I noticed that higher levels of forging gave me like 3 cinnabar per cinnbar ores
max is 10 yes
fun fact, the collecting rank does absolutely nothing. Its something they'll fix in an update
So, how much it follows the xianxia tropes? Do i get an harem filled with jadelike beauties? Do i have a best friend named fatty?
yes to the harem, damn near every girl falls for the MC with the personality of a doormat
no to the fatty friend, every fat person in the game is evil
>every fat person in the game is evil
Unexpectedly realistic
its wuxia not xianxia
Can you actually use items in battle? Some of the descriptions imply you can.
No
some items have extra effects which apply in the next immediate battle
>Your sword technique is very interesting, can you tell me about it?
>This is the Fluttering Sword, it is named after the fluttering of a butterfly's wings by the founder of our sect Lord Queshengguanxoxie, who developed the style after growing up as a poor slave and wishing to be as free as a butterfly, however he died after completing it and none of his successors ever masted the style because it requires ten million years of cultivation of Flapping Sword expertise, the style named after the flapping of a duck's wings, created by the teacher of Lord Queshengguanxoxie, Lord Shenquinghuanhuo, who developed the style after growing up as a poor slave and watching a duck struggle to escape before being butchered, these two styles combined represent a lifetime of sword mastery
>Hey look I just mastered it while you were talking about that
>Wow you are so amazing, let me join your party now, thank you for being a true friend
Every time anyone in this game starts talking about martial arts disciplines I just zone out.
DO NOT SLEEP AT THE BEGGAR'S SECT
YOU WILL MISS THREE FRICKING CHARACTERS
maybe you should pay attention when the MC says it feels like theres more to the story and you should go investigate
I may need some help here. I've been putting off going to the Wudang sect after the red girl splits and have been exploring a bit. I've given Wei the Salvation Staff, both Shangguan and Sima have their Baidi thing, I've met wheelchair guy at the lake and he went away and met crow lady when she killed those bandits. Am I in danger of missing or locking myself out of something? I'm already a master, apparently. Also, how do I raise the first village vendor lady's affection? She's stuck at 10 because all she does is sell shit. Everyone else I've gotten to 80 and some to 100 but it annoys me that she also has an affection bar for some reason even if we can't observe her.
There's a missable dude in Yanfu village, and in a few hours after you do the cripple vs. pirates quest to completion go immediately to Lotus Lake or you'll miss a dude.
Crow lady isn't until after you beat the second region's first arc.
Speaking of Crow Lady, where does she hang out after you beat her questline and get the "traitor" to join?
no one knows, its likely something unfinished that'll get added in an update
I bet that she's just standing somewhere awkward nobody has checked.
well as we figured out a few hours ago, despite her being tagged as recruitable, she would be the 15th recruitable party member and all the marketing was specific about 14 people so theres something off about her
She also very deliberately fricks off as part of her story so it feels like its just not completed, just like the evil dharma cult
Uh bet et es tome samthink rolatoed. No waoy doy shilled a game ta yuutube unly futlr ret nut to bb finished.

>wrong pic
>no enTL
>the cripple vs. pirates quest
How do you even start it?
After you meet the first of the four detectives in a Wudang mission, he'll give you the tip that he needs help. There's a village in the far south of the first zone where he's chilling.
I've done the quest about recovering the goods at the mountain but it hasn't given me any more steps to do after that.
The one given to you by a shopkeep in Gusu City?
As far as I know, that *isn't* part of the quest chain, in spite of involving pirates and sending you to the same place.
Chain would be
Main quest in Pingkang city to catch corrupt merchant Mr. Li
Main quest in small fishing village to stop weapon smuggling to Tianlong Gang (You might need to take specific actions during this quest to get told about wheelchair guy and access the next part)
Wheelchair guy quest
so which of these countless chink rpgs are for english speaking normies?
like skyrim for westerns.
Ho Tu Lo Shu would be the closest to a true skyrim-like open world but MTL
Hero's Adventure has the same systems as Wandering Sword but more open world, but is still in EA
Path of Wuxia has the most decent fanTL of all the Heluo titles and plays alot like persona
thanks man, will try them out.
don't be shy to ask around because you will eventually hit a wall if the translations aren't doing enough lifting or if your playing in higher difficulties
>my chink game credentials
so tell me about tell of the immortal, i dont know that one.
why 400+ hours, grindfest?
a single playthrough from qi condensation to transcendent is like 40+ hours and it the mats for each breakthrough get harder to get the higher the realm thus more grindy, even more grindy in higher difficulties and I've played it in EA
you're crazy
Of the ones I've played, Tale of Immortal is pretty good. Basically a roguelike survivor game with a plot. Starts of very slow though and some of the systems to advance can be weird.
Hero's Adventure felt kind of bad. Haven't played it much but it's just a open world RPG you're dropped in and not told much. The translation is awful and the gameplay didn't impress me.
Sands of Salzaar also didn't impress me. The gameplay is absolute ass and nothing else about the game interested me at all.
I've also played Amazing Cultivator Simulator, which is great but really, really fricking obtuse and grindy and there is massive potential to just frick up and lose the entire game 50+ hours in. It's basically Rimworld but Chinese with a bunch of other shit.
Are any of those like this game where we can rise in power and get our ending with a cute girl?
Yes, play Tale of Wuxia if that's what you want
From the screenshots, Path of Wuxia and Hero's Adventure seem like the ones more to my taste. Does Hero's Adventure have the romance mechanic then, even if it's in EA?
Would avoid Hero's Adventure if I were you. Even if it had romance, which I don't think it does (it's a comedy game, almost everything in it is played for laughs) it's translation is really bad. Like worse than machine translation tier so you're not going to get anything out of the writing in it anyway.
Oh, alright. I'd rather have something that has a decent TL (even if I need a guide for puzzles), takes itself generously seriously, has beauties with swords and has a good amount of content and cultivation.
>my harem
they're a total of 9 women that are available for marriage w/ 5 coming more in an upcoming uppdate, harem's are the optimal way to play since marriage grants a unique passive perk for the couple if they're fighting together, most of the women only have a companion quest and it's piss easy to marry someone as it requires 100 relationship and a wedding stone
Also try and give it a pirate if shitty TL's were enough to dissuade me I wouldn't have played any of these games anyways and I'd had most my recent fun in Hero's Adventure that I'd already 100% it
I'd rather get a passable TL since my time has become very limited due to IRL obligations. Something along the lines of Wandering Sword is more than enough. The other anon also said Hero's Adventure is somewhat comedic and that's not really my cup of tea since comedy is a very personal, hit or miss thing. I'll still try it to gauge the tone and TL, rhough. I'd love more suggestions too, I'm looking through most of the games posted and I'd say that something like Wandering is more my lane.
What is it with japanese/chinese made translations and the word "scumS". The plural of scum is scum. It doesn't get an extra S.
If that were all my gripes with most translations, I'd be in EOP Heaven. At least it doesn't have indianisms, those don't the needful on me, sir.
Literally all of them have a romance in some way or another, life sim mechanics like relationships, farming, crafting and romances are half the fun for me in these games alongside the rpg mechanics and to take a break from their usual combat
also chink sidequest guide by the chinks stolen from rpgcodex and their resident chink

If you are going to gimmickpost this hard, can you please namegay?
This game is very front loaded. I'm at the third region (badlands) and there is pretty much no side content initially. There's a fairly large quest chain after you complete the first major objective but that's pretty much it.
For the late game "become chief disciple" quests, you can skip the fishing/alchemy checks. The alchemist master in Wudang is carrying the item he wants, so just duel him. The fish can be won from the swordsman in the quest location where you're supposed to fish.
Just beat it. Was fairly impressed. I missed 3 characters (eye patch, saber hat guy and saber monk). Didn't get ice puncher back but I didn't look very hard.
If I ever play it again I'll go hidden weapons, did saber this time and rofl stomped everything once I finished the Tailong Gang arc due to the boss dropping his fred unique attack.
Solid 8/10
As of now there's no known way to get crow lady or kill Kama, right?
>As of now there's no known way to get crow lady
can you not meet her in nianjing?
I just finished her quest and saved her in the western pier which ended up raising her affection to 60
I never found her there and searched every nook and cranny
honestly by the time you get to nianjing you're like two hours away from beating it anyway

Is there a list of which skills can only be learnt through consulting?
No, and I'm pretty sure the game alters the drop rate to accommodate your highest weapon stat. I played saber and by the end game had twice as many saber manuals compared to the other weapon types.
I'm pretty sure the manuals are set drops.
am i racist if i say that all the guys in the right column have the exact same face
Am I racist if I suspect the majority of art in this game was done by AI
if it was aI surely they could have generated more than 5 different villagers
although it does look like it for some chars
Of the field skills, Forge/Tailor is the way to go. Fishing is never relevant (you get tons of fully made food to give the HP/MP at end of round buffs and the final required fishing challenge can be done via combat), but making your own items boosts your relevant stats by over 200 compared to "out of the box" items.
Easiest place to boost forge is Miajian(sp) Manor, you can run back and forth to the free rest area very easily and the tutor (Xue's dad) is lvl 8.
So the multiple endings thing was true but not the way people think. All three girls show up in the ending, provided you actually beat the final boss. If you lose, you get a scene of him killing various towns of people, which is pretty based.
theres definitely an ending for having all 3 main girls at 100 favor, that shot of all of them at the lantern festival
I had just Xue at 100 and it had a special scene with just her
Yeah I got the three girls ending. It isn't particularly romantic. They just go "and we'll all go on an adventure together!"
There must be even more endings then.
I lost to the final boss the first time, and my character went full autismo and trained for a year to beat him. After that we met on the mountain again for a duel that lasted 3 days and it was never mentioned who won.
>Scene of the corrupt politician telling you that you can't go after him because if you do you'll be making enemies of the government
>Yuwen about to give in
>Mowen shows up to say that the Wudang sect doesn't care for the government, only for justice
>Daotong
>Daowei
>Daocheng
>Daomiao
>Daoxuan
>Yuanji
>Yuanzeng
>Yuanfeng
>Yuanmu
>Yuanqi

What the frick is Wudang Sect's problem
Assumed names, hence why a lot of character bios talk about the "Yuan" generation
new update, and it removed the recruitable symbol from the crow woman
>removed the recruitable symbol from the crow woman
fricking tragedy, means there's no max power hidden weapon user but the MC if you choose that route
to clarify, your "sis" is only temp available and crippleman can't learn movement techs (of which the only one worth learning is the Condor "Ghost" tech)
>of which the only one worth learning is the Condor "Ghost" tech
Did you not notice the passive Mov and Agi benifits from leveling up Lightness skills?
its a shame, it means theres 3 of every weapon type companion except only 2 hidden weapon users
How do you get ice puncher back (if arrested) anyway?
My team endgame was MC (saber), dancer (saber), crippleman (hidden), Frosty (fist) and traitor (fist)
>Still no update to make the gathering skills actually do something
Did you forget Bai Yu?
You mean Bai Jin? He's hard mogged by crippleman.
Isn't that the point? Needles on wheels is slow but does immense damage whereas Bai Jin is faster but does less damage.
Sure but every other weapon type is less obvious trade offs.
can you buy anywhere those special gems used in crafting high tier weapons?
not that I know of
they come from jade ore
but that shit is so random
guess i'll have to translate chinese tutorials
You can also get them from deconstructing high tier equipment.
are there even tier 1 weapons?
havent even seen one and i think i'm nearing the end
The highest tier equipment I've seen that can be crafted needed level 8 in forging/tailoring. I've seen nothing above this.
But if you deconstruct equipment that needs level 6/7/8 crafting it can give those gems.
They also drop from minibosses
getting to this point was fricking grindy, game is fun though, any suggestions to similar games?
I want my old clothes back, the Wudang outfit is gay
PRO TIP to anyone who's thinking of playing this game, download cheat engine and prepare to use the speedhack a frick ton, saved me many hours traveling and farming shit
i think it looks good
The new update just added 2x speed which is pretty nice, only for battles though
Looks like crow lady was never meant to be recruitable too, probably cut content
Seems like there are a bunch of things that got cut so they could get the game out the door.
>blocked off areas that never become relevant
>can get tokens associated with several sects but have a faction reputation system that only works for Wudang
>large fall off in the amount of side stuff the further you get in the game
Hero's Adventure
Path of Wuxia is more beginner friendly and lends it's mechanics from Tale of Wuxia and better fanTL than ToW official ones so I suggest PoW and then ToW,
Also just pirate ToW since the steam version's original portraits got replaced and the money ain't going to the OG devs in the first place
knowers help
path of wuxia or tale of wuxia
sequel should be better but both have mixed ratings
Tale of Wuxia is touted as the grand-jewel of Chinese language RPGs... but I'm having a hard time getting into it due to the Flash-era minigames myself.
All the later games by the same dev can't seem to live up to the standard set by Tale or at least that's what the Chinese reviews say. For Path, they seem to dislike how it ends at year 3 of the school setting compared to how the school part was merely the introduction in Tale.
>Tale of Wuxia is touted as the grand-jewel of Chinese language RPGs
I think you mean Chivalrous Heroes 3.
I think the changs have their bias in favor of ToW since it's a remake of the classic game they've played in their childhood called Legend of Wulin Heroes, it has more content and added the cut parts from the original and it was the game that put made them the premier wuxia developer and they have the hardcore fans to prove it so they expect their newer games to have equal or more than ToW but can't deliver because it's a remake++
I have to admit though, the translation of this game is fricking good, kudos to the devs
Good is a bit excessive, but at least it's better than most Chinese games
better than most "american" games
American games typically don't need English translations.
whatever you say
This guy sells some gems but not the high tier ones
you think some chinese sperg dropped negative rating coz of inclusion of westerns
do you guys recommend Tale of Immortal?
I don't know, I am pirating it myself right now
do keep updating us how it goes
I only managed to download the updates from sketchy russian sites
https://mega.nz/file/4nZz0JBZ#1dBRihbJrViye2izvJHqYwKpEu4GVs4mTw-fdTn4k68
they should work on the fitgirl repack but I don't have 20 gigs to spare right now
>Tale of Immortal
i've been watching some guy on yt playing it an it looks like an autism simulator, looks very grindy
also randomly generated world
I mean, all wuxia/cultivation games are grindy as frick
It's not a bad game, but you will need guides to understand a lot of it. Despite what people say, it's not actually that grindy, it's just a lot of stuff is kind of RNG and if you don't know what to expect you'll miss out on stuff then have to wait for it to happen again.
My advice if you get it is always get herbology and alchemy skills up as soon as possible. You need them later on in the game and if you get to this point and have neglected them you will have to grind them up.
Also debate people frequently. You need the exp from this to get more skill points to get stronger passives. Again this isn't that important early on, but later you will struggle and need to grind if you don't.
If you do these two things throughout the game, you'll be fine and shouldn't hit any roadblocks and wont need to grind. Most everything else will just be RNG based.
The official companion guide is up
I recruited Frosty Condor but how do I follow up on Kama and recruit Di Zui?
You need to have the +10 affinity from the ogre's recruitment quest and get the +50 from Frosty's questline. Then you just walk up to him and ask him to chill, he's in the cemetary in Shaolin.
by ogre you mean Kang?
I missed that
I started playing this a few days ago. I'm just about ready to start challenging various sects for their secret arts. Being a punch-man is pretty rewarding. I got a Shaolin technique that protects me from a few hits every time I use it, and it's been letting me challenge way too tough opponents as long as I can match or surpass their speed.
Also found a great cultivation technique by flinging myself off the top of a mountain to discover the cave of a dead hermit. Which is fantastically in-genre. It's pretty funny that the way I get money and materials in the game is by having my group of murder hobos clear out mountains of bandits. But I appreciate the real-time mode making it so painless to grind against them. Also that the way to get techniques from other people, is to donate items, then mug people to get them back and donate them again. "Here's a book. Now give it back along with everything in your pockets, you son of a b***h!"
>mug people to get them back and donate them again. "Here's a book. Now give it back along with everything in your pockets, you son of a b***h!"
There's a late game quest where the quest giver has the item he wants in his inventory. You can just beat the shit out of him and give it to him and he'll treat you like you did something amazing.
>Also found a great cultivation technique by flinging myself off the top of a mountain to discover the cave of a dead hermit
which mountain
Precipice, in the northwest part of the map when you start. Gave a yoga cultivation method or something.
>Also found a great cultivation technique by flinging myself off the top of a mountain to discover the cave of a dead hermit.
I tried doing that and I just got a game over.
You might need to do the bai ji precipice quest and hear about the treasure from the bandits
That could be it. I'm finding that I played some of this game in a haze. Bai Ji is in my party, and has no side quests.
bai jin*
did you raise his affinity? he gives you the precipice quest after the sake one
I remember him giving me the precipice quest. I don't remember completing it. But it's out of my quest long so I assume I did it at some point.
done that quest and still ends on a gameover
would be nuts if there is a stat check behind it
Is your HP over 3000?
HP: 4685
I got the cultivation method first try
These were my stats when I tried jumping.
Its the Yoga Sutra manual which is really useful for companions.
probably a hidden stat check, at least i found a hidden treasure with 100 meridian point pill and some nice armor
You need 5 different maxed Lightness skills, like the game over text hints. Or maybe just one high grade one? Not sure.
Ah, that might be it. I maxed out most of the lightness skills as I got them.
ok this did it
3 maxed = fails
added swan steps and it worked
might be an AGI check too, because maxed out Swan Steps adds 15 AGI
Or it might be tied to having Swan Steps itself.
Nah I had swan steps maxed out and still died
Still failed with these stats.
Heal to max. You need 3k HP and around 50 agi
Weird, the fall did exactly 3000 damage to me so I figured that was the check
>miniboss does multi hit attack
>all of them crit
>which triggers limitless multiple times deleting half his HP
get owned idiot
Whats the best way to grind tailoring?
I just bought linen at a trader and crafted a ton of level 1 shoes, it's pretty expensive though
first soft-lock encountered while pummeling the beggar sect elders, avoid using real time 2x speed or save beforehand, lost an hour of grinding 🙁
soft lock how?
soft-locks in the enemy turn, there is nothing you can do about it because the ai never finishes their turn.
i think is some wonky interaction between unique moves being used simultaneously during real time 2x speed mode
anons should i level up the basic white skills or save my martial points?
also can I just sell the books for the basic cultivation and stuff? not sure when I will get a new one of those
think Im gonna go with sword on my main guy, seems pretty good so far
also how do i craft? i got a shit ton of ore
>anons should i level up the basic white skills or save my martial points?
level up your main weapon skills and all the cultivation skills, they give you weapon mastery
>also can I just sell the books for the basic cultivation and stuff? not sure when I will get a new one of those
don't sell move manuals at all.
>also how do i craft? i got a shit ton of ore
you can craft in cities
based thanks anon, i just found a city and made a sword
so even if I dont use the white cultivation skill I should level it to get the meridian points?
yeah
Can you beat Wuming in the first battle against him after getting to the full cultivation method?
I was so close to beating him but having the dead weight "masters" instead of your actual party was annoying
Finished it after 80 hours. Really enjoyed my time with it.
>didn't recruit kong and di zui
>didn't do bai jin or chen linxi's quest line completely
>didn't find a single class 1 crafting recipe
I used fists which were pretty strong though I can see how broken hidden weapons can be with six knacks.
It really needed some super bosses and multi tile enemies as some of the late game abilities I got were really strong(all the fist techniques from the cultists) but I had nothing to use them on. The level design in "dungeons" was really lack luster too.
>Obtain Infinite Four Symbols
>Damage output triples
Limitless is rather OP. Everything Wudang is top tier
Shaolin fist moves are OP as frick. With the mighty and special moves plus golden bell you can be practically invincible so long as you have enough speed to match turns with the enemy.
Did anyone manage to beat the guy at Liao?
every fight like that just ends early if you get them to half health, so you can't actually beat him
If anyone runs into a bug during the long-ass Sweetwater Village quest line where the game skips the fight with Frosty Condor in the cottage via a weird double load screen and then you can't continue the event, I found a work around.
Undeploy everyone else from your active party except the MC
Theres some spaghetti code shit going on with that cottage.
I left Sweetwater out the right side exit to the world map and ended up inside that cottage instead of on the overworld
Can I recruit Soulwrecking Bird?
Holy shit I love edgy chinese girl so much
Sadly no.
>This is all you get for taking out the red swordsman at Mirage Waters
What a scam
anon...
disassemble that armor piece
Don't do this, it destroys your meridians and shatters your dantian. This is how my brother died.
I have heard that anon's brother mastered the Wind and Cloud method...
Save that fish, you need to catch one for an endgame required quest.
For hidden weapon thief guy... any way I can tell if I did his first quest, after recruiting him, or not? I think one of the updates messed up my quest list. The machete girl's quest disappeared too, but I managed to complete it by going to the village to observe the fish. Climbing Precipice doesn't seem to help out with the dude, though.
try and raise his affinity, if the first quest is complete then the next will trigger
So where's the "how to not frick up your beginning first <insert subjective amount of hours here>" guide?
you can't really frick up unless you want to do a 100% completion playthrough
For anyone here who have insight in wuxia, what is a Gu? Some type of special poison?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gu_(poison)
you throw a bunch of poison shit in a jar, wait for them to kill each other, and what you get leftover is super poison
Please tell me you don't miss anything significant by refusing to agree to the fat moron's ploy in the cave when asked to gather magnets.
its required for getting Yao Ji to max affection
you need to do what the fat moron asks, then when you leave after a cutscene happens you go all the way back there again and have a scene with her
