This game could have been the next evolution for survival horror games. Unfortunately the combination of faster more aggressive enemies and more difficult puzzles didn't go down as well with the casual masses.

I think dinosaurs are a somewhat weak horror enemy, raptors and T-Rex have just a bit too much personality/intelligence to them to really be any creepier than a game based around say lions or tigers. a scarier premise would have you facing off against enlarged amphibians or fish or insects, completely dead eyed eating automatons.
survival horror was a dead end genre in the first place
born out of technical limitations of the time
they were never intended to be games with action games in the first place: the first one Alone in the dark was a puzzle game where nearly every fight could be avoided without combat
This game takes survival horror to its most extreme, logical conclusion and I love it.
>survival horror
Dino Crisis isn't survival horror, it's panic horror
I remember you saying this while ago. It was moronic then and it is moronic now. It is 100% a survival horror game, you're just a god damn moron.
Survival Horror and Panic Horror are equally meaningless marketing terms.
Survival horror is a genre though, panic horror is not.
Japan tends to use "panic" as a term to describe anything that's action-packed and suspenseful. Pic related is a football violence film described as a "panic movie" on the back.
Unfortunately it's about dinosaurs which is only appealing to autists and redditors
If you want a fast paced survival horror action game then pick Alien Vs Predator 1999 , scarier than AVP2.
>survival horror
>action game
these are mutually exclusive
You know your stuff, well said
Funny how they restarted work on RE2 because it was bland and boring, yet Dino Crisis aka "empty office building: the game" was perfectly fine to them.
>"empty office building: the game"
If it is the first time you play it you don't know where the fricking dinosaurs are, so in every single room there could be a deadly monster.
But I agree that if you play with save states it is just a big run with some re-loading of states
>save states
Yes I'm LGBTS
Why?
Dino Crisis is a nice reminder that Biohazard 2 Prototype could have been a great survival horror game with the right design choices (and more truthful to what the series was originally). I'll concede they were right to scrap it if they were looking to make money off it and span a very successful franchise though.
The puzzles were not hard, just poorly explained
Post Regina’s fat ass.
Daaaaaayum Gina!
It is like the central focus in the game every load screen
The map is pure garbage and every area looks the same.
Dino Kino 2 is a much more fun game
