I agree that it's a shame it never came to PC, modders could've made the campaign good, and the multiplayer with bots was fun.
the PC port was cancelled by Ubisoft at the last minute, so it's probably out there somewhere on some intern's hard drive.
Should have turned into a stealth game with you overdosing the soldiers as the main mechanic instead of being a generic shooter despite trying to go for the "fps are bad you guysss"
or at least have you stay on the soldiers' side for a bit longer. you have a neat drug mechanic and throw it out the window within like 2 levels because the story demands you go to the resistance's side.
They didn't think it through lmao, they should have started you as a member of the resistance who then infiltrates or gets captured and becomes a super soldier who destroys them from within, not the other way around.
Sony banked a ton of shooters end up being Halo killers, since it was top dog before CoD came out as a standard for console shooters.
They tried with Killzone, Resistance Fall of Man(though that could be argued as a Gears of War competitor), Tau Firewarrior and a few others.
>Tau Firewarrior
what a bizarre one to throw in, Fire Warrior was never touted as a Halo killer and it was a multi-platform release from THQ, not Sony.
not really, just that it's a first person shooter with a two weapon limit, recharging health, and 4-player online co-op in the campaign.
all things Halo 3 did the year before.
I believe some magazine, EGM or PSM or something, called it a "Halo killer" and the meme spread.

Have some respect. This game was filtering people before you were born.

Filtered so hard they never even bought it.
it runs pretty well on rpcs3 and you can at least bump it to 60fps

It was a generic halo 3 clone. Every PS3 fps was "halo but with x"
Yes, it was a very yellow filter they used.
Why was this game called a Halo killer? Like did they try to emulate Halo's gameplay loop and feel?

I recall advertisements at the time saying stuff along those lines in magazines for it. I'm probably thinking of something else.

my cousin showed me the cinematic trailers for this and hyped it up to be the next big thing. i was pissed when they dropped some actual gameplay.
it was trash. fun for one playthrough but man did it look and run like ass
No, I finished it because I am a hardcore gamer.
