For real its the last game in total war franchise that's comfy and full of soul, despite its flaws it still has

Also its the last total war game where you can get everything by just buying the game, to this day empire and onward straight up sell op units and shitty reskinned factions a modder can make in a day ontop of the base game
I only played warhammer TW but I agree with OP that med 2 is hotribly overrated. It looks like shit soz not gonna lie. Maybe it was good in the 1900s but warhammer unit diversity and graphics will always be better. Also you can never play cool factions in med 2.

The AI got fricked up from the transition from disc to Steam. Theres a youtube vid somewhere that shows how to change the code to make the AI competent again

Did they ever fix the charging cav bug, where you had to target the unit then press the 'run' button instead of double clicking or they wouldn't drop their lances?
Stainless Steel is great but there are a bunch of good ones. Honestly the best part of med2 is trying all the mods.
The cavalry bug is (I think) caused by being too close to the enemy unit when starting the attack order. So move further away first.
Thanks gents. I don't have much desire for a total conversion like LOTR or Warhammer, since I still want the medieval setting, so might give Stainless a try!
