Puffy is uniquely moronic. Kate Sith is moronic. Aeris sounds so much fricking better.

    >anti-capitalist
Not exactly, its more so anti-industry
Its kind of if you just put a natural setting into fast forward and they suck their world dry for advancements
Free Market and money is barely if ever brought up

And its not totally pro-environmental, the environment itself decided mankind is a plague that had to be cured by releasing the weapons

All that goes out of the window once Sephiroth becomes the main threat and the ShinRa are treated as borderline allies. More so in Advent Children when they're literally just there to help and oil of all things is shown as an acceptable substitute to Mako.

Then it gets even worse when they start connecting FFX to it. Why even bother with shit like Mako or Oil when they can just use whatever magic that powered machina in Spira?

it always felt a bit fricked up to turn them into borderline comedy characters after they dropped the plate

      >takes them prisoner and tries to publically gas them
      >allies
Sounds like you follow the Israeli definition of "ally"

its more anti-corporate than anti-capitalist, which aren't the same thing. i dont really recall any commentary on economics in the game. the characters are anti-shinra because shinra fricked up their lives, not because shinra makes a ton of money and corners the market, and their outlet is domestic terrorism with an environmental political stance as their collective rally to justify their personal agendas, which is based and kaczynski pilled.

It's not anti the free trade of goods and services and the ability of any individual to be able to own things it is just suggesting a world where evil people could abuse that freedom to do harmful things like destroy the environment and become the de factor authoritarian government that owns everything and prevents anyone else from having any power which is what socialists want but instead of at least having to make stuff people willfully trade for the few at the top with all the power are decided by popularity contests that are suppose to happen every few years.
