The PSP remake is the best version of the first game though. Seethe.
the only thing psp version has going for it is the fact that it runs flawlessly at 80mhz clock speed on real hardware, see my thread on

It emulates better than almost any other PSP game you can think of though.
The series and the way it plays is probably just too niche to make money. Best you can hope for is someday 3 and 4 get translated too.
Oh wow what are the odds, I just finished this like a week or two ago with the PC-98 version. It really is a fantastic game, highly recommend it for someone just wanting to crawl a dungeon. I'm gonna do 2 sometime soon.

New anime art is so clean and surgical it lost something in the way.

The PSP version has tons of soul. What is wrong with you? Falcom was one of the last devs to lose its soul to mindless japanese mainstream consumerism.

it's an ok shitpost, except it doesn't take much effort to remember that a character rotating doesn't turn the entire world around them in most any game that isn't 3D. In that vein, you should rewrite the first shitpost to be about Doom instead.

The PSP version improves that by showing the rotation, which is less jarring. I agree that the SNES version boosters are crazy though.
Only on Ganker can you find people that say an acclaimed game that spawned two sequels with the same style is "made wrong"
My only complaint about the PSP version is that they didn't make the other games in the series

PSP remake is too slow, PC-98 is where it is at. Dela mode was fun though.

It's awkward at first but it's easy to get used to it. I'm surprised how overblown the controversy is regarding the camera.

It's because an entire generation of kids who never played tank control games and are used to their games holding their hand every step of the way discovering these older games and they can't grasp the concept of tank controls because the games aren't telling them how it works, they just expect them to already be familiar. Same thing as with old games that expected you to read manuals when modern games don't even have manuals at all, so the concept is very foreign. Also, they've never been challenged in their lives so they give up immediately.
