No held items, no abilities, focused on mindless ball chunking, less Pokémon than Gold Version. It's legpiss 2.

Didn't ask.
ok now explain how any of those are bad
They are bad because they make the game less interesting.
less interesting how
> how does removing mechanics impact gameplay?
> how does having less things to trade for what you catch impact gameplay?
> How is losing a customization option that affects gameplay in an rpg with crafting a bad idea?
> How does shifting focus on how the player interacts with the world away from the appeal and name of series to something boring make it boring?
Truly a mystery.
>yet another battlegay who thinks catching pokemon is boring
You use repel just like the rest of us, you fricking hypocrite.
How can you call yourself a catchchad if you support the dexcut?
>catchchad
how is catching pikachu every game being a chad
ive already caught everything
give me new shit to catch
Play SV then. Legpiss 2 has like 5 new Pokémon.
>Play SV
no that game is fricking dogshit
Based/ Frick catching 50 rattata. I caught the fricker enough times as is in previous games.
The last time it was possible to catch the entire natdex in a single game (pair) was gen fricking one.
I don't "support" the dexcut and would absolutely prefer if it never happened, but it has very little impact on me.
It's also not at all relevant to the discussion of PLA's gameplay changes.
> not trading Pokémon
Do you not understand what the origin of the series was?
Thus why I said "pair." Between Red and Blue, you can obtain every non-mythic pokemon introduced up to that point. If you count glitches, you can even get the one mythic.
This was never possible again, although gen 2 and gen 6 both came pretty close by allowing you to catch the entire national dex with just two pairs of games.
Dumbass before the dexcut you can trade any Pokémon you like. You weren't limited to one pair of games
And now that I think about it. You're wrong the dexcut is totally relevant to the catching focused gameplay because Pokémon caught in Legpiss 2's catchathon game can be used ad trade fodder. Trade fodder is more useful without the dexcut.
>Dumbass before the dexcut you can trade any Pokémon you like. You weren't limited to one pair of games
Why does that matter? I still couldn't actually catch the entire dex.
>Trade fodder is more useful without the dexcut.
True, but that's why they centralized the GTS in Home.
There are several anons who are convinced that "the appeal" of this series "has always been" battles and that no one cares about catching.
They all hate PLA because their ideal pokemon game is one where you pick any 6 pokemon at the start and then do an endless gauntlet of battles.
>Why does that matter? I still couldn't actually catch the entire dex.
WHY DO YOU NEED TO CATCH THE ENTIRE DEX IN ONE SET OF GAMES WHEN YOU COULD EASILY GET ANY POKEMON YOU WANT ON GTS YOU STUBBORN FRICK!
> "ere are several anons who are convinced that "the appeal" of this series "has always been" battles and that no one cares about catching."
The appeal of the Pokémon is the Pokémon. You don't use the Pokémon you do catch in PLA as much. The real time action is all on the human. Hence focus is shifted away from Pokémon on P side of PvE. This isn't rocket science you shills.
>WHY DO YOU NEED TO CATCH THE ENTIRE DEX IN ONE SET OF GAMES WHEN YOU COULD EASILY GET ANY POKEMON YOU WANT ON GTS YOU STUBBORN FRICK!
Because catching them is more fun than trading, moron.
>The appeal of the Pokémon is the Pokémon.
Yeah, collecting them.
I hope we get more stuff like marks, shinies, etc. that encourages catching large quantities of pokemon.
I hope they add sidequests where we have to catch a specific species that's above or below a certain height/weight threshold.
I hope they add a ton of grindy shit that emphasizes catching over battling.
A battle frontier would be nice, too.
> implying trading isn't fun
Trading is the origins of the series you fricking brainlet. You catch Pokémon (fun) than you trade them (more fun). You still have more fun before the dexcut because you get to catch more Pokémon with a purpose.
Illiterates. I said catching is more fun than trading, not that trading is bad. I think they should add more trade evolutions.
You showed anti trading behavior by saying the being able to trade for any Pokémon you want before the cut didn't matter
> likes collecting Pokémon
> doesn't like trading
> trading is the only reason why Pokémon exists
> trading cool Pokémon was the appeal of Pokémon
Antitradecucks are the worst kind of Pokémon fans.
nah trading is an expensive pain in the ass
> expensive
GTS has been free since gen IV dumbass.
Nice strawman, moron. Catching in the core games is an extension of it's battle system. Pokémon wasn't about chucking balls.
>Catching in the core games is an extension of it's battle system
Other way around. The battle system literally exists to justify catching, in the same way that Total War added a strategic campaign to justify the tactical battles that are the heart of the series.
Why do you think we have a pokedex? SMT didn't bother with shit like that until after Pokemon got big, because it actually was about battling, not collecting.
Yeah so playing down the thing that justified it was stupid
nope, i don't use repels
>how does removing mechanics impact gameplay?
apparently it doesn’t since you’re having a hard time explaining how it makes the game worse.
>no abilities
>less moves
>WAYYYY less mechanics in battle
>status effects and stat buffs/debuffs made simplistic
>level correction that is so significant something way below your level could do enough damage to kill you
>the most important part though is that battling pokemon is completely and utterly useless, a literal waste of time even when fighting legendaries, its 100% more effecting to backstrike and use sticky balls for stun
You literally just like the game because its not a turn base battling game its an auto aim pokeball thrower and this is like an actual unironic objective fact that you literally cannot argue which is fricking ironic because you’re hating on the guy for liking the game that gas actual battles and battle mechanics. Its a literal stop liking what I don’t like autistic screeching from both sides yet you somehow manage to be more pretentious.
I am 100% glad pla got sidelined into a different kind of series and mainline kept being the same at its core, its what they needed to do.
>shifting focus on how the player interacts with the world away from the appeal and name of series
>a monster catcher game putting a bigger emphasis on catching monsters is "shifting it away from the appeal"
nice to see that the people seething over PLA are as stupid as ever
> "On how the player interacts with the world"
Nice to see Legpiss 2 fanboys can't read.
catching pokemon is a method of interacting with the world, dipshit
Catching Pokémon without using your Pokémon is interacting with the world without using your Pokémon shit for brains.
PLA doesn't have megashit though
that doesn't automatically make a game good. other games since lgpe didn't have megas and those games suck
No, but it IS a marked improvement over leggo all the same.
I mean most 2nd entries in videogames are better than the first.
I mean yeah, I think that was the idea. It's the 2nd game in the "alternative mainline" series
nope it has wild battles which makes it way better
Yeah i think Legends ArceusCHADS won.
There will never be another Legends game.
