You can get a demo on steam. I tried it, it was fun but for me its too deep (excell like) if you have autism it must be a great game, but its not a quick and simple city builder. Can get quite oberwhelming but its certainly unique

I don't think this is much of a mystery. At the end of the day, most game reviews are advertisements, regardless of whether the reviewer was paid off or not, and a small team getting their marketing substantially boosted by some guy would be foolish not to respond in turn.
Doubt he even has to get paid off though. If a game is autistic enough, they do it for free plus he has patreon dosh.

I'll think about it when it leaves early access. Factorio chads that have played Songs of Syx, would you recommend it? When I played Factorio for the first time I was heavily filtered for ages in many areas, almost quit at oil processing until I finally figured it out, fired the rocket using shit mostly I crafted myself instead of using the assemblers because I was moronic. It was a really fun game figuring out most shit without a guide. I am much better at Factorio now and when I load up my first save file I just look at the atrociousness and quit without making any changes to remind how shit I was and how better I am now.
it's something completely else, I'd argue much easier than Factorio but it kinda sucks to compare these two. If you like city builders but consider them to be too easy and hand-holding then this is like a good blend. It's like a crossover of Dwarf Fortress minus the autism plus city skylines.
Thanks. I still might give it a try much later on when it leaves early access. I remember anons talking about this game in an older Factorio thread so I assumed the games was similar/comparable but I don't mind playing different stuff as long as it's good/fun
It's a resource sim like factorio (to do X you need Y, to get Y you need Z etc.) but that's where the similarities end. The dev said that the next patch is probably the full release so maybe it's out in 1 year.

It's badly designed with many moronic gameplay decisions.
Half of your population need to be scientists/librarians all the time because of a stupid system where you need to constantly pay the cost of ALL your existing tech or your people forget how to do farming or build toilets. The other half of your population will probably be carpenters or toolmakers because all that equipment that boosts your production is consumable (furniture breaks after a few years, etc) and you need to be constantly producing them.
It's like 80% of your people are just doing upkeep so your entire town doesn't collapse overnight.
Agree, you also didn't mention that somehow mining is so goddamn low and the demands for steels and tools skyrockets in mid game.
Devs would have to do a lot of resource rebalancing if he wants his game to be popular on release.
