They won't. By they I mean capcom. They wouldn't take the chance for a fixed camera playstyle unless they knew precisely that the majority of gamer would purchase such a game compared to a fps or tps game.
If RE7 was like that and sold the same then village would've been the same. Same reason why every remake played the same, the movement and shooting mechanics appealed to the masses.

I like 7 and 2R but 8 just plain sucks. It's good for the first third of the game but then after the castle it nosedives and never even comes close to recovering.
This is literally just a scripted movie game with less gameplay than a CoD Campaign, it's awful especially as 7 was nowhere near as bad.
7 also railroaded the player to hell. It was like a cheap cardboard and bubblegum imitation of the mansion;when you actually consider its design and and the game's progression you realize it was made for brainlets that need guard rails to progress

It's OK. Just very front loaded. The middle part of the game is whatever. The "final" zone seems divisive but I liked it. And then you get to play fricking CoD.

It won't be. RE9 is gonna be the last of the Winters trilogy which means Rose will be the main protagonist. She still has her powers which means she's going to be another Alice. Also seems like she might be a girlboss as well because we clearly don't have enough in games nowadays.
I enjoyed the game, but it left me thinking what the frick even is the Resident Evil lore anymore, much like 6 did.
It's because each section of RE8 felt like a sad imitation of another game.
