After quickly realizing how shit Diablo 3 vanilla was, I discovered Path of Exile open beta and have never looked back. I will never give Blizzard another penny, especially after all that Diablo Immortal bull shit.
PoE is better than D3 in pretty much every imaginable way. Loot, crafting, end game, build diversity. The best part about getting the D3 Collector's Edition when it first came out was that it came with a flash drive copy of Diablo 2 lol. MUH BIG NUMBER GOOD!! Lol. Hell, D3 had to keep copy PoE's challenge leagues to introduce "seasons" into the game. I tell everyone I meet who plays Diablo 3 to play PoE instead because it's a a far deeper and more complex game. D3 is for bird brained morons, not much else to say.
D3 was absolutely shit when it released, but I thought RoS was actually pretty fun. There isn't much in the way of endgame and builds are extremely restricted to sets, but the actual combat itself is very satisfying.
It's sad how immeately uou made these dailies after the catastropfic last D4 trailers and reveals.
PoE is better in every single way.

PoE at its worst is still better than D2 (ok for its time but overrated) and leagues better than D3.

I don't like it, I think it's boring and unrewarding but who cares not everything has to be for everyone
D3 is a great game to play while listening to a podcast or an audiobook

For me, breach was the peak, honorable mention for legion. I think bestiary was the first league I skipped, now I play probably 1 league per year
D3 is for the most part an ok game that you can casually play for a while and have fun.
It obviously doesn't nearly have the depth and build or crafting autism of PoE, but for people that mostly care about gameplay it's really not bad.
I have played neither game in years but as far as I remember D3 had these cookie cutter sets and builds each season without much build diversity, but they were fun to play.
I fondly remember the raekor barb charge build for example, PoE builds on the other hand when I played it were never that fun in my experience.
you have to be literally autistic to enjoy end game PoE, it's all running around the map at light speed killing everything that touches the edge of your screen, and then accidentally dying to any bosses attack or traps in half a second.

the later you are in the game the less likely you will use more than 1 active skill for damage, it's the same every build, 1 button offensive skill and 1 movement skill and bazillion buff. piano builds just aren't a thing
