this game is unironically the worst diablo game. any class that isn't sorc is trash without enigma, and to get enigma you either need to grind for 500 hours, cheat or rmt on d2jsp if you're playing online.

i'm not being ironic, it's an overrated game. now i never played classic and i know most of these issues are because of lod, the skill tree is awful. there are only a few viable paths you can take and synergies railroad you. itemization is lame, rares are mostly worthless because of runewords. the potion system is also awful, it's way too easy to just spam spells and easily teleport back to base to buy more potions. the charm system is stupid, the only drawbacks to using a bunch of charms means you have to teleport back to base which just makes the game more annoying.
diablo 1 had great atmosphere and was solid throughout the whole game. it also didn't make you replay 5 acts (3 of them are bad) multiple times.
i have multiple times. offline and online. anything besides a sorc is suicide fuel and teleport staves are tedious.

i really cant see how warrior/barb are viable in torment tho... you NEED shaftstop and to slowly pull rooms. even sorc the most OP class cant kill quad immunes. i THINK bone spirit does melee damage but i didnt get it to work
in the end rogue with heartseeker is the best. with their blood star ability and gear they crit like 15k nonstop. and diablo was STILL hard as frick on torment

It's easy to get enigma, takes around 50 hours on SSF if you aren't Sorc and Paladin, online any class gets it very soon.

Yep, after replaying it recently i can agree with that. D1 has peak atsmosphere, D3 has gameplay, D2 doesn't have anything

not for botting, it gives you a better map and marks champion packs/bosses for easier farming. Also you can set your game to X amount of players up to 8 for slightly more items but i can't remember if that was prob already an option originally

Lk (lower kurast) is usually ran with a simple goal - to farm runes for OP runewords. Normally, included are CtA and Grief, but those are easily farmed, however real gold of LK lies in farming Enigma or Infinity due to its massive amount of Sur+Ber patterns. Obviously, when farming Enigma or Infinity, we talk about cubing Sur runes into Ber, or Ber into Jah to make it done. So, easiest thing to check is how often do you farm/cube Ber rune by running LK.
to farm Sur rune directly: ~993 runs
to farm Ber rune directly: ~3641 runs
to farm or cube Ber rune: ~1285 runs
So, at average you farm or cube Ber rune once in 1285 runs. That is actually really fast by diablo standards! For Infinity you need 2 Ber runes, while for Enigma you need 3.
to farm Infinity from zero: ~2570 runs
to farm Enigma from zero: ~3855 runs
to farm Infinity AND Enigma from zero: ~6425 runs
This is just expectation, it doesn't mean it will happen in that amount of runs. I know for a guy who farmed Infinity in under 100 runs, also one player farmed Enigma in like 2k runs. But, this is expected amount of runs it might take you to farm runes for those items.
If we stick to theme of 30 seconds running, this means that player will at average farm Infinity in ~21.5 hours and Enigma in ~32 hours of farming. Or, if he wants both, then we talk about ~53.5 hours to do it. Or, we could say 30 seconds Lk running at average nets you both Enigma and Infinity in ~50 hours of running! If player speeds his pace to 25 seconds, it will take him 20% less time than that. Someone dedicated who has time and aims to do the running at 25 seconds pace could farm CtA, 2x Grief, Fortitude, Hoto, Enigma and Infinity in 2 weeks, if he starts from zero with only some Meph gear. And assuming average luck on runes, otherwise it might take him less time than that or more.
LK drops also bunch of good items for trade, so you get enigma faster online (even though /players 7 command evens the field somewhat). I got plenty of bis items for other classes and some OP israeliteels.
