I'm not even saying the game sucks because of mechanics. It sucks because it's boring, the npc's just stand around doing nothing, the world is dead. The quests are forgettable at best. I'm leader of the mages guild, thieves guild, and morag tong and I don't remember one interesting thing from any of those quest lines. The dungeons also suck ass.

How are you the leader of all those guilds when the mages guilds skill requirements don't at all synergize with the thieves guild and morag tong? Also the side quests and faction quests don't make the game, the main story does along with the replayability, the game has a very in depth character creator

I have yet to play a single game with a better magic system. A single game period across any genre. You can literally create your own spells to how you wish. You can also exploit the game through enchantments or if you really want to exploit it you can do so through glitches to create ludo powerful spells to really frick with the game mechanics and even crash the game. On that alone its better than Skyrim.
NPC schedules would add nothing except make the game fricking obnoxious to play. Oblivion was only playable at all because quest NPCs had floating quest markers above their heads. If you had to find a specific NPC, and there was no quest telling you where they are, then good luck with that, homosexual.
