Enemies don't respawn after you die in the Wii version. It makes the game a complete joke. There's no challenge to the levels at all.
That doesn't cancel out the fact that past-gen TFU controls better, has a better feel to the combat (the "realistic" physics in PS360 makes it floaty as frick) and more streamlined level design. I work in game testing. Trust me, the dev build even today is far, far worse than the release. You complain about playing at 25-30 FPS on release but during the beta it is 5 FPS with constant crashing.

Remember this generation is just literally an iteration over the previous hardware. Everything is theoretically possible on the previous generations of consoles. Games are still made with these machines in mind, devs just crank up the meme effects. Consoles from now on will be just more expensive prebuilts running better versions of games. The only reason many Series S ports are shitty is because the low effort it goes in this machine due to the small marketshare. Look at RE4 or SF6, it runs perfectly fine on the PS4 because the publisher wants their money.

How? Early 2022 I followed two Twitter bots and within like two days I had a disk PS5 purchased for MSRP. It wasn't even the on-time for the special invites, this was the one random plebs could join in. I just had my phone and my computer on the queue and one of them got in while the other loaded indefinitely. I don't even buy PS+, I've bought a month like twice in all the years it's been paid.
I got into two queues on playstation.com and didn't get it and I got the buy button on bestbuy 3-5 times and also didn't get it in the cart. I followed wario64 and was never looking at twitter when he posted the links so that never worked either. I'm happy it didn't work out though because I got something way better, and I won't purchase any Sony games that make their way to steam because of this. They had they ability to get the consoles to customers but it was satisfying to enough to see them up on ebay and play games with the supply. Also "cities can rebuild Zach" was was probably the finishing touch.

The correct way to do a console transition is to release a new console every 2.5 years and stop supporting the current console after 5 years, that way each console has a useful life of at least 5 years. Oh no, I see some odd justifications and less than practical decisions behind people getting their Xboxs, but I just haven't seen them give that kind of cope in particular, as it's been a generation since Xbox abandoned exclusives as a part of their value proposition. It's with the PS5 -which hasn't abandoned exclusives but also doesn't get them- that I see push back against the idea of sticking with your PS4 or just getting one of those when there's almost no downside. The PS4 is going to have an insanely-long lifespan for a console. Remember how they kept producing Wii U and 3DS eShop slop right-up until the very end when the stores were shut down because of lenient indie game certification? It's basically the same deal and there are going to be low-spec indie games coming out on PS4 for years and years to come, even long after it's discontinued.
I don't think that's a bad thing. The smartest move Sony pulled with PS4 was x86 architecture, which enabled easy backward compatibility with future consoles, so your library stays the same. People who invested thousands of dollars in their Steam library will never move to EGS. Imagine if Gaben suddenly pulled the plug and made Steam 2, rendering all your previous purchases obsolete. Well, that's how moronic console business was before PS4/5/6/7... Now those who only play FIFA, service games or simple indie games just don't feel the pressure to move to PS5 while Sony still gets its 30% cut from every sale. Recently leaked PS5pro specs indicate the strategy going forward will remain the same. If you buy PS5pro you probably won't be needing PS6 well into its life cycle.

It makes sense because it will still be much more affordable than buying a 4000 series GPU. The DF guys said it will have 72 compute units, double that of the base PS5. If they manage to double the performance as well, it will be in the range of the RTX 4070 (1:1 raw power) or in most cases much better if we consider the performance gain you get from superior optimization capabilities than your average PC (in some cases, there's a 500% gain). The RTX 4070 is $600, but compared to the TI version, the PS5 looks like an even better option (if Sony prices it correctly). Basically with PS5pro you'll be getting silky smooth 4k60 in all next gen titles like GTA 6 while PC ports will struggle even on a 4090 GPU.
PS5 Pro will likely launch around the same time PS5 gets actual games worth playing, just like PS4 Pro did.

This. The diminishing returns on increasing hardware specs is going to mean this console generation is going to go-on for a very, very long time. I don't expect to hear a peep about the PS6 until 2030 at the earliest.
PS5s were consistently sold out yet it seems like hardly anyone owns one.
This is the first gen where I haven't bothered to get a console at launch. I got all the PlayStations at launch excluding the PS5. I just don't see any games worth getting a next gen console for yet. Maybe in 2024.

This is actually a smart move, current gen console sales are bullshit. Nobody is buying ps5 games.
Most games nowadays (and it’s odd many anons don’t point this out or are even aware of it) you can get literally anywhere. Fortnite? Anywhere. Armored Core 6? Anywhere. New GTA? Anywhere. It’s not like the old days at all.
I’d suggest getting a PS5 or Xbox if you really cannot afford PC gaming at the time and you really want to play new games now and you just want easy gaming.
The only one who is standing out from the crowd of PS5, Xbox and PC is Nintendo since you getting a Switch for Nintendo games you can’t get anywhere else.

They don't want to see every major release is a sequel or copies something what was before. Even open world was pretty much maxed out in the previous gen. The XBO/PS4 was somewhat justified in this regard because the 360/PS3 really struggled with open world games.

Judging by the reactions to the game being ported, they don't want their games being optimized either.
It's like when inFamous Second Son came out and got knocked for not having 'next-gen gameplay', presumably because some journos were looking for some novelty to scratch the itch of new generation itch with the diminishing graphical returns. I remember Killzone Shadow Fall getting similar treatment, but when I played it years later I found a lot of interesting twists and moments that weren't conventional of traditional FPS, which made it even weirder.
This gen, that stuff sticking around longer makes sense because there almost aren't even games exclusive to the new hardware generation outright.
