This has completely ruined all other mobile games for me. Is there anything remotely as good? Not just gameplay but atmosphere.

I think HyperRogue is pretty atmospheric.
This does seem good
What are the in-app purchases like?
I think you can pay to remove the adds, which don't run anyway when you're offline.
Caves is pretty atmospheric.
yeah that ESL description in the play store is a no from me dawg
>Is there anything remotely as good?
No. Not even his other games are as good. B100X is okay, but you eventually get to a point where you need more inventory space and the only way to get more is to buy it with $$$. I just hope Buriedbornes 2 is good and is not B100X with a Buriedbornes skin.
DFFOO is the only other phone game I have ever stuck with, but it is an EoS gacha with servers going down at the end of February.
It's really good though if you like customizing a build and dungeon crawling or roguelikes. Some of the translations are definitely rough and I am positive that I could do a better job, but once you play it a bit, it's pretty easy to understand.
>how do you even play?
You need to play it like a for real game. At least that's how I finally understood it. I had it on my phone for literal years, only ever playing it for like 10 minutes at a time while waiting for stuff irl, and I never got to floor 100 this way. Then one day I sat down and actually played it like a game and then it clicked. You also at some point need to set up a Soulstone farm character if you want to unlock everything.
>You need to play it like a for real game.
This is why I like it. It's actually a real game.
Yup, same.
I accidentally made auto farming on the first try, made 5000 ss, then I updated the app to .18 & it's unplayable, always stucks on loading. Now I lost everything because I forgot to save to cloud after reinstalling
how to earn 2000 quickly? for moon queen
>how to earn 2000 quickly? for moon queen
I dunno, man, sorry. It's been years and years since I had to start from the beginning. I think getting to floor 10 or floor 50 or something for the first time gives you a good amount of those?
I would recommend Miner first, btw. You can get Productive skills, but that's completely random, whereas Miner's skill is not random. If you have the ability to set up some sort of auto clicker, Moon Queen's usefulness for Soulstone farming drops off significantly.
The beta has been really good so far. There's still some things that need a tweak, but the core gameplay loop is almost the same, just with more depth.

how do you even play? i gave it a shot but my character was dominating everything until it wasn't. And after 45 something rooms i find out i didn't unlock shit cause i'm still at the beginning?
You unlock "parts" you can use at the lab to unlock permanent upgrades for your classes
I guess I'll post the rest of these
>Which class should I pick?
>Brief class guide/summary
>How to correctly use the monster Jail
Even after reading this, you should still practice on bullshit monsters before trying to extract a part that you actually want. I fricked up my first Eternal Darkness and also my first Party Time by not practicing on shit monsters first

I tried it for a couple of hours, I'm not sure I get it yet. it feels completely random.
>it feels completely random.
Well, it is basically a roguelike so in that way it's random, but in terms of you being able to win (i.e. get to floor 100), that is mostly *not* random. I also thought that it felt random back before I actually tried to play it like a real game. Once you start trying to play it like a real game, it will start to feel less random. Still, at the beginning, it will probably feel random because you don't really have Lab Parts or Contracts or Amulets, and you probably don't have very many Jobs to customize either.
>Job
Starts with certain skills and abilities
>Contract
Basically an "accessory" that you can customize with up to 5 abilities
>Lab Parts
Basically functions as another "accessory", except its "grafted" onto the Job itself (can be removed later). Can customize with up to 5 abilities
>Amulet
Lets you choose any active skill in the game to start with (in addition to whatever the Job naturally starts with)
>Taking Item
Basically it's like an item to use outside of battle, in between rooms. In my opinion, mostly useless if you have a well built character, but can help cover for weaknesses (ex: I think Teleport Stone can be useful if you do not have Teleport/Phasing/Scout, but I value the Teleport/Phasing/Scout combo very highly, so I always have it)
In true roguelike fashion, it will take many runs to start building up your resources so that you can more freely customize your Jobs, but once you can, then you can essentially assure victory with a well constructed character (and/or by choosing or avoiding certain rooms). The first Job anyone should get is Miner, so that they can set up a Soulstone farm. Once you have a Soulstone farm, you can more freely buy different Jobs. You can also buy every Contract and Amulet in the game this way (via a sort of "gacha", but it's with Soulstones). Lab Parts take more time to acquire, since you get the good ones mostly from using the Jail.
Playtest ending tonight, any questions you guys want answered?
What's the biggest difference or change from 1 to 2? Is there anything that took some getting used to? Is Demon in yet?
>What's the biggest difference or change from 1 to 2?
That's actually a hard question, a lot of things are very different but at the same time not that different. I'd say my two picks would be combat being a lot more deeper (no longer spamming everything before enemy one-shots you), and dungeons being shorter so it doesn't feel like a slog. Or the way you build your character before starting a run, that also has some big changes.
>Is there anything that took some getting used to?
I guess learning to build a character well? Some of the new stuff felt useless, or even detrimental early on, but it eventually clicked and I rely on them a lot to pilot my runs.
>Is Demon in yet?
Demon's in but I didn't unlock it. It's no longer a sexy chick too. Gimmick is that you gain triple skill boost but pay soulstones for it, and die when you run out of rocks.
>It's no longer a sexy chick too. Gimmick is that you gain triple skill boost but pay soulstones for it, and die when you run out of rocks.
RIP. I guess I'll need to find a new favorite
Kek, a link to the closed beta trello is posted at the bottom of Android version's patch notes.
It's mostly bugfixes that don't make much sense out of context, but you might find something cool.
This game is a ridiculous knowledge farm..it's super RNG, I've been trying as mage but I can't get a decent build that doesn't just die to random encounters
I tried dragoon, my first run I got double hp double damage and hp = strength + frenzy and went to lv96 before fricking up an item and dying
I used to obsess over this game until they nerfed witch, and got So Fricking greedy with micro transactions and ads
>got So Fricking greedy with micro transactions and ads
What? This game pays for itself. The season passes give you more currency back than they cost, ad you are able to by the pass with free currency. You can also buy what I consider to be the necessary upgrades, again, with freely obtained premium currency. And there's one (1) ad across the bottom of the screen, which apparently disappears if you even spend $1 on the game, and I don't get any ads at all on Steam
>nerfed witch
what was she before?
>BB1
>so fricking greedy with micro transactions
ho boy, you're in for a surprise when BB2 comes along with its textbook definition of pay2win
Do you know this for sure? I was hoping BB2 would be as good as BB1, but of course I've always suspected it would just be more or less the same game but with aggressive microtransactions, like locking classes behind microtransactions or that it would just be a recreation of B100X, which is a fricking inventory nightmare (which is conveniently solved via microtransactions)
Nah I'm screwing with you. Unless things change before release, it's not much different from BB1.
There is a "cash shop" with items you can buy, but the items are pretty mediocre. Of the seven items on sale, there's two notable ones, an item that gives you 100 soulstones, and an item that passively grants Scout. I found a bunch of weaker (50) soulstone crystals, and a few of the Scout items, from just random drops within the low level dungeons.
But technically, if you're a highscore autist trying to get first place in rankings and plan on grinding a lot of runs, this does give a slight edge in the early game, letting you get extra points, so it technically is pay2win.
Biggest gold sink are the Unions now. You pay a one time fee to join them and get quests to unlock useful stuff. They're kind of like season passes actually, except permanent.
There's also no inventory space now, at all. Only things to "upgrade" your account are extra character slots and loadout slots.
Witnessed
>There's also no inventory space now, at all. Only things to "upgrade" your account are extra character slots and loadout slots.
Holy based. Considering that the inventory shit is literally the only thing "wrong' with Nussy games, I wonder how he's even going to make any money at all on this one. Character skins? BB1 the inventory shit is very manageable with just the free currency purchases, but in B100X, once you get to a certain point in progression it gets so bad that I just stopped playing the game, because it's either you stop playing because you don't have the inventory slots anymore, or you buy the inventory slots with real money
Maybe the ad money is just that ridiculous.
Oh right, as for skins, one big change is that they're no longer job-locked.
>they're no longer job-locked.
That might be enough to get me to buy a skin actually
I'll be honest with you, most of the time I don't know what I'm doing in this game.
4 days! if it's the same as beta updates, it should launch at 15 JST.
I'm moronic with non-US timezones so I'm just going to be watching Steam
steam has an earlier countdown time than 15 JST
wonder if it will release a few hours earlier as per the steam countdown
It won't, unless Nussy changes his mind after people flood in asking why it's not up.
He said on discord that he'd need to get in touch with Valve to fix it and that it's probably too late for that.
Look,
All my atk skills are Strength based, but I am being throttled at max HP currently being 9999, so I need that damn limit break. And the penetrate is also vital. I guess I'll leave this then.
What do I do?
These are my equips
They're tempting me with PIE!
literally the next batle I fought, now it shows limit break+2!!! Man one thing I hate about this game is that if you stupidly change out a piece of armor your whole build is destroyed and you will get wiped next encounter.
There should be a system in the game which allows you to re-roll specific attributes on pieces of equipment, and the guy who offers you upgraded equipment is not good enough.
So ~6 hours until actual BB2 launch?
I'll see you all tomorrow, I hope Nussy keeps BB1s grittier looking art and UI
where is it? dead game? no real?! TAKE MONEY AND RAN?!
20 minutes
So there's only 2 unions? And it costs 300 premium currency to join one? And it looks like there are a shit ton of benefits from being in one, so obviously you have to join one
Which did you pick? Which one is "better'?
There's 8, three unlocked by default for 300, and five more from clearing dungeons that cost 500. The game does give quite a lot of goldshards though.
Also this thread is more active.
Cool, thanks bro. I didn't see Necromancer. Even if the game gives you "a lot", it will run out eventually. BB1 gives you a decent amount also, but you're kinda fricked if you didn't spend it on the right stuff
Unions give gold shards at levels 11+ and that seems to be infinite, but the amount seems so low that a new dungeon will come out before you earn any significant amount that way.
