the pokemon point has always been valid and I thought that since the inception of this very fricking concept. I don't know how people let them get away with doing that. The only thing that could possibly justify it is the very slight differences in adventures so you could tell your friends what happened in your game, and then the in person trading that was eventually developed. But all of that barely justified there being two versions of the same game released at the same time at the same fricking price point for barely any fricking difference ahhhhhhhhHHHHHH

pokemon has always been about encouraging you to trade with people, thats why there are multiple versions. You dont need more than one. Complaining about this is akin to complaining that you have to walk somewhere to catch pokemon in pokemon GO. Thats the game genius.
there's barely enough difference between game versions to justify the split in the first place. it's disengenious to imply the game is primarily about trading when it's a linear jrpg where the real point of the game is to get a decent enough team to clear the elite four and potential post game challenges. I'm glad people make custom roms with everything included on one game version.

Top left literally happened when it released because i remember me and my friends and boomer family members saying it was the black sheep of the franchise and it was the least liked of them all. It wasn't until in more recent years that people just started looking at it more fondly.
