For one, you posted A SELECTION of 10 CoD games while there are many many many more in the series, and 7 Soulsgames plus a Remaster, that being all the from souls games.
Secondly, CoD is trendchasing SO FRICKING HARD it's unbelievable. Every now and then they come out with a pretty good title, but it's just so fricking recycled. Shocking moment in Modern Warfare was a fan favourite? Ohh the next 5 games need shocking moments now! And now they're doing battle royale.
Souls games have similar themes and shit in them, but you get the impression that it's there because it fits the genre and vibe they're going for, not just because it's popular. It feels like people still making art, instead of just rushing to make the most amount of money on earth. There's no fricking Battle Royale in Elden Ring,
Hell, they could probably have gone open world years ago, but they waited before they had a really fricking good way to make open world happen without it just being pointlessly huge for the sake of it. One of the only open world games I've ever played outside of GTA where it feels like it makes sense for this to be open world.
