Quake on Steam for a long time (years) came with no music, an absolutely pathetic oversight. This looks to be the Nightdive re-release with the music included, though I don't see why you'd play that over using Quakespasm Spiked.
>copyright issue
what about the expansions, Quake 2, Hexen 2? all copyright issues? or is it more likely that they were too lazy to patch the executables / provide the CD and a way to mount it?
I never bought this on steam because apparently it didn't have the music, but maybe that changed at some point?
they've included a de-emphasized rip now, which is arguably worse than not including anything at all.
Get wads and play them via GZDoom
Rest of /vr/ would say to play them in Chocolate/Crispy Doom - and they'd be correct but you seem to be so noob that you can't even find the Doom general to ask this in so use GZDoom
VkQuake for extra performance.
it a Quakespasm fork running on Vulkan if your graphics card supports it.
helped me maintain solid framerate in 4k and some demanding mods llike Arcane Dimensions
Lack of music in the original Steam quake release is not a copyright issue. It is just laziness. It is just the Quake file and a dosbox launcher. The ISO isn't included, so it can't find the music to play. Zero effort release. And yes, the remaster is pretty cool.
no sound 0/10
no sound?
It has sound; it has no music
I thought you were supposed to enjoy your favorite metal cds while playing. That is how the developer intended.
The developer can suck my dick.

It wasn't an oversight, it was a copyright issue and they decided to just be lazy about it.

Cringe and kys
>no TDM, even though it was a part of original game
Thanks, but I'm sticking with DOSbox.
did they fix the underwater color mismatch?
Alright gays not gonna make a separate thread for this. Is Doom a good PC port or is it shit? Just bought it on Steam thats why
>Doom
The original Doom? You can just get the WAD file out of whatever you bought and play it however you want.

*in some
I bought it both for PS4 and Switch, it's really really good. Plenty of options to customise the graphics, and the gyro aiming is really crisp.
The new one is quite good yes, ignore the autists
Meant for
Is it just "Quake: Enhanced"?
