board of directors heard a bunch of buzzwords like "hero shooter", "extraction shooter", "microtransaction integration", "live service platform" and decided to ask them to do all that which ended poorly because they have no experience.
A 10 year old game is not "old". It might be old to someone who is 14 years old, but that's not reality. Battlefield 1942 that came out in 2002(21 years ago) is getting fairly old, and especially since it's the first in the series.
I think they're going to make a new Battlefield that is just the Portal gamemode from 2042. I think they will have all of 1942 and Vietnam at launch, then slowly add in the rest of the games from there.
They've been declining for a while. 1 gameplay was shite but it had nice atmosphere. V tried to salvage 1's gameplay but they ruined the atmosphere so not a lot of people were interested especially after that trailer (it wasn't THAT bad imo)
2042 was just falsely advertised. they didn't want to make a battlefield game yet it was advertised as one
I only played a couple hours of Battlefield 1 and only about 50 hours of Battlefield 5. Would you please explain what you mean by the atmospheres of both games?
I think what happened is most people aren't that familiar with World War 1, so the maps in Battlefield 1 were new to people. And with Battlefield 5, people are more familiar with World War 2, so when the maps weren't well known maps like Omaha Beach, Battle Of The Bulge, etctera, people were way more upset.
That was extremely minor compared to players unfamiliar with the fronts and early war period of BFV. Many players did not know of the nordic involvement and how the early european nations got flattened by the full might of the german army. It's a shame they didnt add Greece, Italy, France, Hungary like they did for BF1
>badfield 1 >WWI except everyone sprints aroudn with automatic machineguns and submachineguns that ware at best prototypes at the time >because all the adhd kids would struggle with trench warfare and bolt action rifles
I want a somewhat futuristic Battlefield game
and no I don't mean cringe "MW2 with wallhax" futuristic or 2142 futuristic
I mean I want red alert futuristic
they saw the likes of Overwatch and R6S and thought >yeah we really need unique characters with special abilities instead of classes and customisation
and then you end up with a team of 6 grannies
maps were fricking shit too, they wanted cinematic maps that looked cool instead of good maps. who the frick thought giant open maps with very few buildings relative to map size were a good idea
It's alright, their problem is almost every BF game since 4 has had a horrendous launch that they then have to spend the next year trying to salvage a decent game out of. BF1 somehow launched just fine, but people here still hated it because black guy on the box art.

WHAT THE FRICK BRING ME BACK
they wanted apex legends but realistic
they paid the price
I'll play BF4 until the end of times
They will pull the plug always before that.
Its alright, not good though like the old ones. I like 4 the most myself but i have only played 4 1 and 2042 so idk if my opinion means anything.
>not good though like the old ones
>but I have only played 4, 1, and 2042
anon 4 is about to turn 10

best battlefield still is 2
4 is just a modern and good version of btf.
the questions here is:
are they going for another modern-era shooter or are they going straight to 2142 3.1?

Battlefield 1 was insanely good and dripping with sovl
Operations mode was fantastic. I wish it was as good in BFV

Everything from the artstyle, voice acting, sound design, graphics. Elements that sells the sense of a battlefield https://youtu.be/ltDjOmnAIj8
V wasn't as strong but it doesn't matter because gameplay is king though I can see why some people gravitate towards 1

Yes. there was also a bit of understandable backlash against females in WW2

I can never win in BF 1
BF 1 have no american players
Battlefield 2 and 4 are my favorite. The rest of them can kick rocks.
it's ok but it's too modern for me

Planetside 2 but not shit?
Yes anon
Better off just downloading ARMA/Squad mods. This is what all my sci-fi bros do.
brain drain obvs.

the entire series is fricking awful. Cope. The only serious differences between 2042 and the others is aesthetic.
