So let me get this straight. You like this game, so you made this thread specifically for people to talk shit about it while you offer nothing to refute them? That's a strange way to promote it.
>fight robots
Easily one of the weakest points of the game. Sentinels are fricking obnoxious. >build empires
Completely false. The closest you can do to that is establish a settlement (and only ONE settlement. You can't even have more than one settlement) and that's about it. There's absolutely no depth to it either. You just interact with a terminal in the overseer office every now and then, choose some dialogue options, and occasionally swing by the settlement from time to time to gather whatever resources it's producing. Hell, even the building aspect of it is completely automated. The only role you have in actually building the settlement is occasionally delivering materials

Based town mayor role
You go to a planet, scan a few items on it, maybe mine a little ore, then fly to the next one. Repeat until you realize you could be playing something better and then uninstall the game. Also you can collect ships but they're all functionally the same, just with different stats so who gives a frick about them.
i tried it out for 30 min a couple years ago and was put off by the art style, just a personal taste thing, im not saying its objectively bad, i just found it subjectively bad - please feel free to have your own opinions on things and not be influenced by my own opinion on this, thankyou for your time
I go on my fleet and follow the will of the Atlas, and I basically larp as emperor calus from destiny. I got a treasure room full of exotic relics and tech, all of which is worth shittons of credits, but will simply sit in my collection, as I collect bones of long dead civilizations and tablets and shit, all while on my never ending cruise to the edge of existence. Sometimes my friends join in and I make them exotic foods and shit, and every now and then I plan to build palaces on certain planets that I find. I collect world glitches too, and have them all in a treasury. Life's good. Grow fat with strength.
Terrible first impression & core gameplay is still shit, despite all of the content being added over the course of several years.
But I imagine running around in the wilderness of space with your bros would be a pretty kino premise.
The game is shallow. Everything is just surface deep, the storylines are incredibly short if you get passed the time gating, end game is you doing moronic repetitive tasks for gold stars to buy furniture and stickers. The only thing the game has going for it is meme autism builds where you destroy every star systems economy, every 'expansion' or update they've done to the game simply spreads their shallow water further with pointless time wasters that amount to having another ship(which you can't store anywhere because of the tiny limit)
All space exploration games are fricking boring, exception Outer Wilds
How the frick do you put so much effort into making a game with only 2 actual planets? >habitable >oh no le air bad
And then try to patch it up by throwing in boring as frick space politics and economy sim
I don't hate it. This just gets old very quickly. Narrative bankruptcy, nonsense NPCs. But just getting on your ship and go off planet is absolutely beautiful. Empty & gorgeous, like a Stacy. And there's not many things you can do with a Stacy, no matter how imaginative you are.
it's the same with Cyberpunk 2077
it started out bad, today they are absolute great video games but some morons will continue to mark them as bad games
Because it still is a bad game. They've done absolutely nothing to address the glaring issues with planetside stuff, especially the points of interest. Take the manufacturing facilities. The whole gameplay aspect for them consists of >go to manufacturing plant >shoot down door >sentinels around the manufacturing plant get pissed >go dig a hole and hide in it for a few minutes since there's no point in fighting the sentinels since more just spawn in when you kill them and the sentinel AI is so bad they can't find you if you're hiding in a hole >go back to manufacturing facility and waltz in because the sentinels forgot all about you and apparently don't care about you walking into the facility >use the terminal, choose the right dialogue option (or Google it if you don't know which one to pick) >congrats, you're done with that point of interest
Or how about those abandoned buildings? >Go in >Hit use on the terminal >pocket the goop to sell later >skip through gay ass lore >get nanites >point of interest complete
00
>>go dig a hole and hide in it for a few minutes since there's no point in fighting the sentinels since more just spawn in when you kill them and the sentinel AI is so bad they can't find you if you're hiding in a hole >>go back to manufacturing facility and waltz in because the sentinels forgot all about you and apparently don't care about you walking into the facility
You don't even need to do that. They don't shoot you when you're accessing the terminal.
>havent played since 2019 >launch it >at one point find a desert planet >motherfricking sand worm comes out of the ground >scares the shit out of me
at that point on I realized how amazing this game was
I don't. I really enjoy the gameplay loop of hunting cool ships. No other game really gives me that kind of experience.
Survival games are tedious to me. What they promised was cool but what it turned into isn’t for me in the slightest.
What do you do in it?
What's the gameplay
Look it up dumbass
You fricking shoot gay lasers are coloured rocks bro, there's no game there, it's just collecting rocks and food. Frick you!
can you just give us a quick rundown?
Why? Just so you can say "LOL what do you do though?". You know exactly what the gameplay is you baiting troll.
well just post it for the people lurking and they can decide for themselves lmao
you frick rocks
You FRICK rocks?

>NMS fans can't mention the gameplay because it'll deter anyone from even pirating it
So, jack shit?
Collect shit. Build empty cities with nothing to do on them... that's all.
Gather materials, build stuff, fight robots, space combat, build an empire, setting up bases, buggy race, uncover mysteries

>game
Stutters on my 4090, shit optimization, bad game.
It's a genuinely inventory management game. No kidding, core mechanic is inventory management and everything revolves around it.
Every planet is the same thing in a different color.
Don't lie anon. Every planet is at least the same 9 things with different color
What do you want out of planets?
Not the same anons but I'd like for the goddamn megadinosaurs to be real
got chu covered, senpai

First impressions are difficult to change.
Like my mother always said, FIRM!
>Fist
>Impressions
>Really
>Matter
and how many years did it take to get to this state?
less than 25
why 25?
its boring
Terrible first impression & core gameplay is still shit, despite all of the content being added over the course of several years.

It's fun but I didn't like the loop of building your base, played as actual nomad with like 3 bases from edge to center.
are there mods to make myself into a sexy woman?
