This is stupid. You dont get any ammo at all if you have a lot of it in your inventory.

This is stupid
You dont get any ammo at all if you have a lot of it in your inventory.
But if you are running low then all of a sudden you get 10 pistol bullets from each zombie.
Really, whats the point of making my shots count when the game does what it wants behind your back.

because it's not a survival horror game, shitdick
that said, you're prolly playing on standard... yeah it'll try to not let you run out of handgun ammo in hardcore, but it'll test yo ass since you can't just shotgun crutch through every encounter

I played hardcore and finished with 80 shotgun ammo and 600 tmp from crafting never had to use them since the game constantly gave me handgun ammo

already finished it on hard and im on professional rn

You can literally craft ammo now
      Your complaints mean nothing

i tested it in the room where the little bridge lowers you to an ambush.
I started it with 10/10 pistol bullets and 6 S crafting shit
i finished the room and ended up with 10/25 pistol bullets.

i reloaded and crafted all my pistol ammo to have 10/95
when i cleared the room i literally got 0 bullet pick ups. absolutely nothing dropped only money.

This kinda fricks me up bro, i feel discouraged playing now, its kinda lame tbh famalam.

why is that lame? it's just a fact of the system not wanting people running out of ammo. it's not a survival horror game mechanically, it's an action game. with scares.

it sucks cause i got to trick the game itself as well.

if i constantly play on low ammo the game will give me ammo and i can horde my crafting material.

If i craft all my ammo at once i wont get any ammo drops.I will eventually drop down again to 10/10 and i will just lose my crafting material.

its stupid the game works that way. just have constant drops, no matter if you suck or if you are good.

Yeah i don't know since when RE games have been doing this but there should
have been a bigger shitstorm about this mechanic. It keeps the games balanced but in an annoying way

    Dynamic difficulty.

The classic RE4 balanced that perfectly to be unnoticed by players. So the Demake obviously fricked that.

You misunderstand. I am saying that the original RE4 had such well balanced dynamic difficulty that the vast majority of people never noticed it.

          you're moronic
entire ass enemies disappear from dynamic difficulty in the original, and it's very obvious if you die once at any chokepoint

All the dynamic difficulty did was remove enemies from encounters, it didn't gave you more ammo, and it was very much noticeable

        Anonymous

He's saying the original had better balancing. You don't tend to notice enemies dropping more or less ammo than usual since enemies had no health scaling. RE4make has the same design philosophy as RE2make where enemies can take a million bullets to kill, so bouts of ammo shortage becomes way more apparent.

it's the same exact thing between the games tbh..although OG re4 is so easy even on professional that it's rare the mechanic is even needed. remake is a shitton harder, or if nothing else, requires a shitton more shooting

        Anonymous

        >shitton harder
        not really
        >shitton more shooting
definitely not. they removed a large number of encounters and the demake wants you to run past enemies.

Shotgun shells almost never drops from enemies and crafting shells is requires too much gunpowder. I fully upgraded mine, and it was my favorite weapon, but I barely used it due to the lack of ammo.

After being the remake I think they removed too many of the silly things like the lava room in the castle. Still a great game but it really put the fact that games are less fun nowadays because they take themselves too seriously.
Minecart part was amazing in the remake.

The grail ambush in the original ends in higher tier knights that have the longer white things busting out of their head. This didn't happen at all in the new game.

The idea is that you're relatively limited on ammo for your strongest weapons on any single encounter. In the OG, you could build up dozens (or, for the handgun, hundreds) of rounds relatively easily and be able to absolutely decimate later encounters. The new system makes it so that you're never that loaded but you're also always stocked up between major encounters, while you can also use crafting to give yourself a boost during fights.

I don't know if it's better, but it's well thought out.

the exclusive on the striker alone broke any semblance of difficulty in re4 on any difficulty setting tbh... 100 fricking rounds, and you get that amount (minus current clip) for free, instantly. i haven't used the striker in the remake yet, what is it's exclusive now?

        Anonymous

Same idea but I think it doubles its capacity, for a max of something like 42. That said, while it won't give you free ammo, in my experience, the game seems to check if you have ammo in your inventory to increase drop rates for a given ammo type. So, if you keep your gun topped up as you pick up more ammo, you may end up with a significant amount of ammo in the weapon itself.

I haven't tried it myself since I'm running the Riot Gun right now.

what happens if you dont have ammo at all like for example in the sword/picture puzzle?

can you get soft locked in this game or the original?

I doubt it, the game seems to have checks when entering those type of areas to cue ammo drops, always enough to complete them and then some..and non-professional also gets an autosave at that point too usually

Meh i still think thats stupid, if im shooting accurately and scoring headshots, i should be rewarded with plenty of ammo thanks to that. I fricking hate this bullshit. re2 penalizing you from killing zombies by making them stronger. Might as well just toss your gun away at that point.

That's fair. The original game was a lot more arcadey and this game does betray a lot of that in the name of keeping difficulty/tension up. I love what they've done with 90% of it but the difficulty level I think is a bit overtuned.

Saddler is an absolute pain in the ass. He'll be getting the rocket launcher treatment in future playthroughs.
