Aren't those "details" just autistic lore written on 1000 different books you can read in game

              I played 3 and 4
I enjoyed those 2 games and I can tell they put efforts on designing environments and guns and people's clothing to make the game look more apocalypse-ish
              But I don't think it's as detailed as RDR2
Characters moves like robots and map is just copy and pasted huge wasteland with few hyper detailed cities

Name a book character better than him then. You can't. The fact of the matter is that RDR 2 is an amalgamation of the best aspects of all other mediums combined into a single video game. The people in the world are characterized through miscellaneous dialogue, Arthur's journal and story cutscenes. Arthurs personal journal alone is probably better than most books out there.

Okay let's watch some cutscenes on YouTube and compare him to Arthur.
                John is:
                >sarcastic and cynical
                >stoic and professional
                >helpful to those who can aid him and friendly to the few characters that actually have any personality beyond being caricatures
He is literally just a generic western protagonist like clint eastwood in the dollar trilogy only with a tiny bit of more personality defined by the rockstar snark that was popular at the time.

Compare that to arthur who literally has more personality in the first mission than john had in the entirety of rdr 1.

His interactions with Charles, Pearson, John, Dutch and Hosea for example. I think 1 could've probably been better if the game had some actually serious characters for John to interact with, instead he is just the straight man in a world of parody characters. Rdr 2 just has a way better cast and more time is taken to explore them.

I mean, it's for sure the most believable open world, only Kingdom come deliverance can compete but that games budget really shows.

My main gripes came with everything content related, there either simply wasn't enough (robberies, bounties, random encounters etc) or they were too linear (every main mission).

    Graphically yes. Gameplay wise, no.

Pretty much this. There are cool easter eggs, and there are a lot of different species of animals, but there's not much to do.

        >but there's not much to do
And sadly this is R* intended design, to hook you so you are forced to play the online component. They literally did this with GTA5 as well, big world with little side content so you go for the online if you want more.

there's plenty to do? Don't tell me you're an autistic Ubishit enjoyer

        >robberies (store robberies)
        >train/stage coach robberies
        >poker
        >other minigames
        >hunting
        >fishing
        >stealthy home invasions
        >duels

That's just in terms of SOME of the random encounters, you also have more scripted bounties etc.

A lot of these get old after 2-3 times of doing them, like robberies. Duels in this game are lacking and shit compared to 1. Hunting is pretty dull, and gambling isn't anything special. Fishing is the only thing I'd say is enjoyable more than a few times. Also, replacing the dice game witth dominos was fricking stupid.

Go low honour full bounty and kill everything in sight, causing chaos in this game is really fun. Too bad people are scared of being bad, i guess that says a lot about how immersive it is though.

Already did that on my second playthrough.

As opposed to what fricking open world games?

You didn't get bored with the 20th shitty dungeon in Morrowind, or 50th dogshit fetch quest?

Going apeshit in a town isn't much fun because the AI just keeps spamming NPCs at you in conga line. You have to escape eventually.

The greatest open world ever created wasted on an overly scripted and linear movie game with dogshit controls and zero replay value.
