>can't even play switch games let alone struggles with PS2 games
>>can't even play switch games let alone struggles with PS2 games
I play ps2 games at 2x res and haven't struggled with one yet.
>can't even play switch games
Provably false, it plays them better than the switch even, why tell such obvious lies?
lmfao
>1 year old webm
>buying an early access console to beta test the meme OS
do steamgoys really?
Things get better, moron
To be fair it still struggles on TOTK last I checked on mine, which was maybe 2 months ago at most. Steady ~25 FPS or so, only reaches 30 FPS in less demanding areas. So near and yet so far. I'd go back to playing it if I could do it on my Deck.
Stop cranking the resolution so high like a moron.
Do you emulate gamecube games at 4k on your phone as well?
>steamgay
>used to getting everything on 75% off sales
>want a switch
>only $200-300
>BUT every single fricking game is $60
>going to end up spending 1k+ on it
unironically how do people not just emulate when faced with such odds
Almost every game I've tried runs better than on switch, the exception being ToTk.
Goldeneye 007 with gryo aim is surprisingly great
wrong but the oled one is
>kino
Why are newbies so fricking stupid?
Yes, you are.
>Download PAL version of game
>FPS locked at 25
Why would they do this
>download inferior version of game
>WhY iS tHiS vErSiOn InFeRiOr????
same recent a lot of games run at FPS lock of 30 in regions with 60FPS
Objectively wrong
Came in to post this. Deck is good but spec alone don't make something kino.
Meh, I bought one, put onionos on it, was deeply disappointed. It only has the power for the crap cores and you have to accept audio stutter and frame pacing issues as standard like all these cheapy chinese devices. The deck actually has CPU grunt AND supports a wide range of fame rates so that you don't have frame pacing issues.
Speaker on the miyoo is attrocious too and the headphone socket is so noisy the speaker is the better option.
what the frick are you trying to run on a miyoo mini that you're running into any kind of emulation problems? up to PS1 it's golden and it'll only stammer on dumb shit like bloody roar that nobody plays but uses for benchmarking
Love my Mini but the damn thing's so lightweight it's impossible to actuate the R/L buttons. You press them and you just lift the system. Makes a lot of games very hard to play. Currently trying to sell mine but no biters in my local area... going to try ebay soon. I think the incoming Miyoo Flip will be giga kino.
yeah even as miyoo's strongest warrior the L/R buttons are a bit awkward, it's better on the mini+ but it's just a limitation of vertical handhelds, L/R buttons are always gonna kinda suck on them
They just need to increase the button angle so you're pressing down into your palms instead of up into nothing.
>vertical device
no
>no analog sticks
>no customizable controls built into the interface of the UI itself
Lmao
Lol
Any game worth playing can be played on this.
>brick that you cannot fit in any pocket short of meme gangster pants
No
>Any game worth playing can be played on this.
Can it play PS2 games?
>Any game worth playing can be played on this.
Is that a yes or a no homosexual
You're a grown-ass man; read the words
So that's a yes then
No, but it can play interracial gay porn
(You) (You) (You) (You)
Is that a gamegear? Agreed
Its so kino i cried myself to sleep yesterday
I gave mine to my brother. Hardly played it these past 18 months. Should I try the OLED instead?
>hardly used it
>should I get it?
Probably no unless your circumstances changed and you would get lots of opportunities to use it.
Does anyone know if I install emudeck on the SD card, can I plug the card into my computer and copy over all of my roms that way?
I just upgraded from lcd to oled and the last time I set it up I did it in batches using a usbc thumb drive and it took fricking forever.
Yeah you should be able to point emudeck to your SD card, you can also just use warpinator/winpinator to transfer files over your network
Thanks.
I'm not setting up a whole network if I can just plug it in.
Install DeckMTP and you can plug your Steam Deck into your computer like a USB drive directly
This doesn't work anymore IIRC, it fricks up using the USB port for normal purposes (besides charging). Can't, for example, plug a USB stick in anymore, it won't get recognized.
If you turn MTP on yourself I believe that is the case but the plugin gives you a toggle to turn it on and off without going into desktop and using the command line.
The toggle needs to be done in BIOS afaik. I'd be happy to be wrong.
Let me test it I suppose. Give me a few minutes.
Just tested with a usb and I was able to mount and use it just fine anon. Try it out.
I found there's an open bug report about it, the problem appears to be intermittent or something... They know about the problem but it's an upstream issue.
With how busy they must be fixing other more important things I don't expect this to get fixed anytime soon.
Ive been using it for months and its been totally fine. Do you even really need to use a usb drive when you can just connect it also?
just ssh into a shared network windows directory on the deck.
On the deck, go into the dolphin file browser and in the location field put in sftp://USERNAME@LOCALIP for the PC on the network you want to connect to. It will prompt for it's password.
I strongly recommend setting up syncthing, it's a bit of a pain but once it's done it's the shit
I will look into it. I just tried to plug the SD card into my windows pc after installing emudeck and it won't read it. I thought the deck formated in exfat. Oh well.
>I thought the deck formated in exfat
Nope, ext4, which Windows has no way of using
Yeah it's amazing, best we've had since the good old days of the PSP. It's gonna be hard to top it honestly.
If only it could emulate bus rides long enough to warrant its existence. In the real world, if you want to play Pepsiman, you could always do that.
Deckies are posers prove me wrong.
>remember i have an unused 32GB SD card somewhere
>the USB HUB im using as dock has an SD slot
>idea
>turn that card into a small emulation library, all the emulators and roms there
>try emudeck, gives me the option to install it on the card
>COMPLETE FRICKING FAILURE
>flatpack apps can only be installed on the internal drive, no way to have all emulators and roms in a single external drive
i ended up just installing a couple of steam games there and calling it a day
Skills issue
Why not just have them on the sd card in the deck already?
because that one is already full of games
im not that big into emulation, but i figured it would be nice to have some PS1 and PSP and maybe some super nintendo at hand
unfortunately, it couldnt be
also i didnt want to go experimenting with flatpacks, i got my deck just how i want it, and its way too easy to frick up things on linux
earlier today i was going to factory reset my deck after the emudeck experiment, cuz even after uninstalling emudeck, i was missing a shitton of GBs on my internal drive, i found out stupid emudeck doesnt actually uninstall the goddamn emulators, i had to uninstall them using the discovery app
You can pick just the ones you want and linux is not that fragile. Just install those 3 emulators and put a couple games of each system on there.
>try emudeck, gives me the option to install it on the card
>COMPLETE FRICKING FAILURE
did your SD card's name have a space in it?
no
looking around flatpacks simply dont work this way by default, they are installed on the OS drive, all emudeck did was place a rom folder on the SD card and little else, citra, ppsspp, duckstation and so on, were installed on the internal drive
you need to install flatseal to give the emudeck flatpak permissions to use your SD card. Flatpaks are sadly moronic.
ok, im intrigued, is that on discovery?
should be yeah, it's pretty simple to use. You just tick boxes to add permissions to installed flatpaks.
for me it's my phone.
FOR ME it's my sneed
sell me on it for someone who never leaves the house
neat to play PC games in a portable format, lots of stuff is playable with gyro and trackpads that wouldn't be on a normal controller setup
it's still a full computer too so in the event you do go somewhere you'll have a full PC at your fingertips
great for plugging into your TV in the living room and play on the sofa
I tried one out recently and it is just too W I D E
I love the girth actually
I get you, and if the next version was a flip-up screen thing I'd love it, but you do get used to the width, and the button/stick/pad placement is intended for a wider "stance" or whatever.
I would rather it had a 4:3 screen with 2048x1536 resolution. I don't want to have to settle for the Chinese knockoff equivalent.
Nah
4:3 is the superior aspect ratio. There's no good reason for PC gaming handhelds to stay loyal to 16:9. We should demand more from developers to support various aspect ratios.
>with 2048x1536 resolution.
Portability is a power compromise, you ain't getting 1440p-ish with anything even remotely resembling a good battery life *and* performance.
Anon you don't know what you're talking about in this matter.
2048x1536 would be amazing for emulation with shaders, and then you'd upscale whatever newer games couldn't run well at native resolution.
Power consumption would be hardly changed.
derrrrr i'd be running it at 720p anyways so it wouldnuh matter
yes
Recently I've been using the Ayn Odin 2 for emulation. Sure the system isn't as powerful as a Deck or an ally, but I really like how light and small the size is compared to the other systems. Pic related isn't mine, but my setup is pretty similar, and with grips it's really comfortable to use for long periods at a time. Dunno if I'd recommend it over the previously mentioned devices, but it's good if you're looking for something lightweight and less bulky.
I love this little homie. I even use it as a internet browser. It's kino
Why are bongs such cattle?
Seek help
Open Box Rog Ally on sale was the perfect emulation device being only $350.
Too bad it's back to full price now so I can never recommend it.
A Deck or a new Gpu.
Depends what the rest of your setup is and what GPU.
The Deck is too big to be comfy.
Plug it to your TV

So it's kino then
Mine gets here on Monday. What should I play on it first?
A comfy RPG like Persona 3 Reload
It would be cool to play romhacks on, or Nioh 2/Elden Ring
PS2 games
>buy mgs master collection on xbone because it's unsupported on deck
>they add support next day
For other anons here: I was using emulation station as a frontend for my roms/emulators and I really liked it, but for some reason it doesn't start up now. Do I need to reinstall emudeck?
