For its time it was very special. Redeeming the series after 2, reinventing the wheel, perfectly encapsulates the anime cool of the mid 00s, great soundtrack, fun combat, great story. As time goes on though we can see more from the genre and 3 falls behind due to its enemy pool.

i love the dmc series, and i really like dmc3 and respect it for what it is.
HOWEVER
the game starts sucking HARD starting on very hard, because the enemies become genuinely unfun to play against. fallen, enigmas, abyss, they all suck dick and ruin the experience.

VH is peak dmc 3. Out of all enemies you mentioned only enigmas become unfun with their sonic cosplay (which you can counter with qs, nevan or sword pierce)
Very hard is the best difficulty setting. You want real bullshit? Play DMD. When high-health enemies DT they become tedious as frick because they live forever.
i played through the game on all difficulties. it was not an enjoyable experience though. i feel like the game is supposed to give you ultimate freedom in your way to fight enemies, but certain enemies force you to use a specific weapon just to counter them, and without it it becomes genuinely tedious.

fallen habitually clip into the wall and become intangible for half a minute, forcing you to wait until they decide they want to fight again. many enemies are genuinely flawed, especially on higher diffs.

I don't remember 4 or 5 being like that. There might be a better strategy against certain enemies but you have much more freedom in those two.

that's another guy, i'm the one who mentioned the abyss. i fricked up though, i meant soul eaters. THEY are trash. abyss are among the most fun enemies to fight, along with arachne. been a while since i played 3.
I forgot about Archne but I didn't like them too much either.
i liked how they made you think of how to finish them, since the wrong finishing move made them spawn the baby spiders
Most enemies don't attack from offscreen and the ones who do all use 1 attack and make a sound cue before using it. Get good, scrub.

I just completed ninjagaiden 1-2 and armoredcore 4 with keyboard mouse on highest difficulty and easily beat them compare to controller where most of my death were due to camera bs

No they weren't, they were 2d so you could see where everyone was at all times.
In these 3d ones, the enemies literally hide off screen away from the camera and sucker punch you or throw projectiles at you.
It's a bad game tbh, I don't know why people praise it. I got memed into trying it as well
