This is the only good game in the Pokémon series. Others may be good for Pokémon standards, but this is the only one that stands on its own, rivaling actually good franchises like Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade or Final Fantasy.

prob just means mainline. pokemon has so many spinoffs and a few, namely pmd2, that are actually just independently good games. i held out hope for awhile on rumble, since the first and second ones was pretty good, with low points distinct from the other. then it became some fricking mobile shit and i gave up.
everytime someone talks about this game, it's always about the story. I never hear anything about the gameplay

All of those are written by monkeys, yet still have better stories than pokemon. Gamefreak fricked up by adding pokeAbrahamism and pokeisrael in gen 4 and everything after that has been shit.

Only thing missing was following pokemon. Shame all these great changes are tied to a dogshit region with unskippable cutscene garbage and the complete removal of any real sense of adventure in favor of a railroading experience.

Pokemon spinoffs on average are more fun not necessarily from quality (mystery dungeon does however have) but they get to try new ideas and mechanics Pokemon mainlines would never touch nor take less than a lifetime to creep towards adopting at best.
