im also in terribad elo. the comp placement matchmaking just doesn't know what to do with me. i had one round vs. legitimate bot-tier AI we went 13-0 against, then next round i was up against the Monstars and lost 2-13. i very rarely get a 'good' game.
i gotta say being able to easily play 5v5 office is so nice. The map is not balanced or competitive but when its just 10 people its actually pretty fun. I only ever got to play office on bullshit 24 or 32 player servers
the most visible differences are molotovs and smokes, some maps have cosmetics differences and some geometry can be jumped on top of that couldn't before.
UI-wise the buy menu doesn't include every gun, its got 4 columns of 5 that you place what guns you want into, so you can have the M4sd AND M4a3 available to buy if you want.
they got rid of damage numbers after death, you have to wait till the round is over to see how much damage you did, they also added a sound AOE to your minimap and an option to have the crosshair move with the recoil.
long and short comp matches are gone and now you just have first to 13.
If you were good at CS before 2, then you won't be anymore. They decided to remove hit registration, good servers, and make bullets completely RNG. In other words, they made it bad and removed the fun.
They pushed the update a bit too early so currently some game modes and community servers are missing but will be added later.
New game engine so a little bit less spaghetti code, new physics engine called Rubikon and also made by Valve so more fine tuning is possible now, modding tools are a little bit easier to work with so you can expect more and better custom maps and game modes and they finally went back to the old buy menus but with less weapons... but since you can have both M4's at the same time I don't mind it as much.

they should have kept it in beta for another few months at least. i guess they had to double down on releasing it in such sorry state right now, because there are supposed to be esport tournaments or some shit

Yeah. My favorite 1.6 server finally died after the boomer owner got a heart attack and I got banned from one of the css boomer servers because they thought I was walling when I just sprayed through smoke to get a few lucky kills.
and they were right. Ever since 1.3 (or 1.6) cs games got progressively worse.
CSGO only took off because of the money making scheme. No one played that shit before the arms deal update, source had more players - feel free to look up the playercount.
I hate how a fricking skins update dragged everyone into CSGO, I won't lie I bought an M9 knife years ago for like 80 bucks and its worth 700 now. Still feel dirty for participating in that system.

Only valid complaint is inconsistency of the sub-tick system and the fact that they released cs2 too early. They didn't have time to finish converting all the maps and gamemodes to s2.
And yes they replaced cs:go with cs2 purely because of skins, steam market would implode if they duped items.
Valve screwed over the Artifact fanbase by cancelling the Artifact 2.0 beta without even allowing users to invite friends like they said they would in January 2021 and does not deserve your financial support for these gross consumer-unfriendly practices.

The game is fun and it has a ton of potential, but I have one complaint. WHERE THE FRICK IS CACHE. It was so many people's favorite map and they just straight up deleted it. They could have included the old map with some basic lighting changes and that would be fine but they fricking deleted it. It is being remade, but why do we need to wait months??

I don't see the appeal. I live in Scandinavia and have 4ms latency but the issue is there's nothing but soviets, every match... I hate this so much it's unreal and valve doesn't do anything about it.
At least in the past 2017 or so you could actually block individual Valve servers but it's not possible any longer.
