Well, they've already gone on record multiple times to curb expectations for Island Sanctuary, so if that's the reason we're not getting Euerka 3.0 and it sucks, than that's a damn shame since I liked that content and Bozja was a really good step forward. Needed some tweaking and a better environment design and the next one would have been a great.

Eureka was already good, Bozja iterated on it and made it better, both culminated in cool difficult content like BA or DRS, it's really hard to beat for me

You can see the change in speedrunning threads. Early GDQ marathons had a ton of trannies, but the threads for it on here in 2012 and 2013 weren't anti-troony, there were even many posts swooning and crushing over the trannies.

His replacement could be a member of the Rogue guild, they started training / borrowing Ninja stuff a million years ago with Yugiri in ARR and SB would definitely cement an exchange of ideas in that regard. I think a humie would have to take his place though because there's no other humie's left in the squad, but if nobody gave a shit about that either the cat rogue or lalafell rogue would slot in pretty well.
Thancred, Urianger, Alphanaud and Estinien have all completed their arcs entirely and no where to go as characters. This is dreadfully obvious with Thancred of all of them, who flat out didn't even contribute to Endwalker's Story.
Graha's entire existance basically just undermines the Crystal Exarch sacrifice., and would have been better if he died. But This game doesn't kill people anymore, so he's still around for eye candy I guess.
Y'shtola,Alisae and Krile are wasted characters, they've had 10 years and have never had a character arc or development at all. I'm tired of seeing them and there's nothing they can do to change this now.

They can't kill off their marketable characters, so they keep reminding of that one frick who died in Heavensward, over, and over, and over. I don't get why people defend this.
No they don't have to kill the characters, but they wont even write them out. They're too marketable, too profitable, so instead we sacrifice writing quality and bog down the cast of characters for the sake of it.

No it's because it's the incident that sticks out the most in your character's head, Haurchefant is the first one to actually die for you simply because he liked you and not because you were a hero or because of destiny. He's also the one that smuggled you into Ishgard and got you a room in House Fortemps out of the goodness of his own heart. He's supposed to be "the big one." Debatably no characters even came over with us.
All that really happened is we got a cute little puppy that follows us around and talks about adventures and the female players swoon over him.
The most it will ammount to is Y'shtola getting back to her lion daddy, but I doubt we'll see that becuase then she wouldn't be able to stand in the background of cutscenes for us.

it is not the story's fault you remember a version of the crystal exarch that didn't happen and chose to ignore him making sure you got sandwiches and making sure he was prim and proper and presentable when the scions (and most importantly you) came up to meet him and he followed you and talked about wanting to be a hero whenever he wasn't busy with city administration and war-leading

Well the problem is there's no real reason for that aspect of his character to be present, he's good at taking control of a panicking crowd during a crisis but that situation is rare even within Endwlaker and, ideally, WoL will frick up whatever's causing the panic anyways. He's a hero simp at his core and he took charge as the Exarch more out of necessity than desire, it's why he was exasperated when taking charge in RaH.

There's also the fact that narratively speaking, once a character joins "the team" you have less of an allowance for them being able to just conjure solutions for problems out of their hats, so stuff like the Exarch tricking Rhanjit through magic in Lakeland or casting Break in order to petrify a whole room's work of enemies simultaneously and hold the line while you went ahead just couldn't work as much, so yeah.
I suppose it's just a matter of every once in a while finding little situations the character can get into where his strengths can shine, which is not a problem exclusive to him, from the very beginning of this fricking game we have had Alphinaud introduced as this grand diplomat and I am STILL waiting for a single fricking scene of watching him having a heated diplomatic debate with somebody and either convincing them or at least driving a fatal flaw into the case they're presenting, the way Nanamo did with Varis in post-SB.
Thancred gets "I'm a survivalist super spy" moments left and right, and the point of Urianger is precisely "I'm really fricking good at lyin to my friends but I DON'T fricking want to anymore, that shit hurts" in Endwalker, but all these other characters don't get much that draws from their specific personalities enough. Thancred's little moment of being the only one that stays up and actually starts putting up a fight against nihility bird was alright.

The issue with scions is that each one of them is a good moral person who takes everything 200% seriously. There isn't even a comic relief or anything if you don't count Graha eating burgers as comedy. Like Thancred could be one but they made him brooding for no reason. Estinien kind of stands out because he's edgy and rude but that's about it.
Closest I can think of working is Jed in Stranger of Paradise and even then he's mostly mouthy and the "party face" rather than intended comedy relief. The proper way to go about it is to write an "underdog" character or somebody with a joking personality that's still competent instead of explicitly writing them as Comedic Relief, otherwise you just get Scrappy Doo.

This is only partially correct. While the GCD is 2.5 for most classes, once you reach a high enough level you begin to unlock a slew of abilities that are oGCD which you are meant to "weave" into (aka cast during) your GCD period. It starts out very slow, but it quickly ramps up the higher level you get. The real downside is that whenever you run lower level content, which is frequent if you're doing your Daily Roulettes, you'll be back to the 2.5 GCD with a lot of downtime.

DRK is "okay", strictly because I wasn't around to play it during the Golden Days so I don't know what I am missing outside of Carve & Spit seemingly being a button who's just there not really doing much that's interesting, but MCH genuinely bothers the everliving frick out of me, but I've always been a person who cared more about the animations and class fantasy rather than actual gameplay complexity. I play Paladin's, for god's sake, and that job also doesn't really feel like it has a lot going for it
It had a very unique playstyle involving MP management, since your DPS stance disabled your MP regeneration completely. This led to you needing to strategically decide when to use MP-costed abilities, the most important of which was Dark Arts, a buff that enhanced several abilities to make them more powerful. You also had abilities like Blood Price that increased your MP regen whenever you took damage, and Carve and Spit gave you a flat MP restoration.
The tl;dr is brainlets would complain because they would only use Dark Arts for Souleater, which increased the amount of HP the ability would restore, either not realizing or not caring that Dark Arts had way more applications than that. And at level 70, you also had to decide between using Blackest Night, the ultimate anti-tank buster shield, or risking some MP for Dark Arts. Also Dark Arts has an amazing animation.
Having the potential to buff specific abilities to have enhanced effects as a kind of super attack does seem fun, honestly. I do still have a soft spot for DRK, first time I used Abyssal Drain in a pack it made me smile a lot and I kind of wanted it to be that, the lifedrain tank, but it ends up neither being as healing-happy as Warrior nor feeling quite as damage-focused as Gunbreaker so it feels adrift. I am okay enough with Paladin just being your regular cookie-cutter good-natured "rally behind me, friends, I have a shield and I will keep us safe!" generic tank

TBN has some unique applications over the other 3 due to it being available 12 levels earlier, with a shorter cooldown. I don't have much of a problem with it at all honestly.
I think the problem is more that Squenix is creatively bankrupt when it comes to tank classes, and we might as well only have one class with 4 different flavors. Hell this isn't even the first time this has happened to DRK, you could argue the introduction of the role skills, reprisal and low blow was the start of it.
The fact that you can basically just have one hotbar for tanks, and just change around the icons for shit does the exact same stuff is what makes it boring.
Both Dark Arts and Dark side DRK were exponentially better than WAR lite. The only vision these devs have for all jobs now is one of homogenized mediocrity.

Modding cosmetics into the game has been made extremely easy by dedicated fans who made a very powerful modding tool, but if you decide to use them, you are advised not to share your name in a place that Square Enix might be monitoring or you could get banned. Generally though, they don't care that much about cosmetics. They are mainly interested in banning "addons" which change the gameplay by injecting code into the client- a little bit more nuanced than a model swap, and they're very concerned about hacking.

If you love raiding, having an alt to do weeklies with is nice, but otherwise there really isn't much of a purpose. You can nab fantasia for about $7 if you look outside the mogstation, a little over 15 for a pack of 3. There's a plugin to also change what you look like if you don't want to spend money, but this is only client side; you'll still appear as a dude to everyone esle.

Well, they've already gone on record multiple times to curb expectations for Island Sanctuary, so if that's the reason we're not getting Euerka 3.0 and it sucks, than that's a damn shame since I liked that content and Bozja was a really good step forward. Needed some tweaking and a better environment design and the next one would have been a great.
They haven't announced anything else aside from the deep dungeon and the Saucer update
Eureka was already good, Bozja iterated on it and made it better, both culminated in cool difficult content like BA or DRS, it's really hard to beat for me

Graha's entire existance basically just undermines the Crystal Exarch sacrifice., and would have been better if he died. But This game doesn't kill people anymore, so he's still around for eye candy I guess.
Y'shtola,Alisae and Krile are wasted characters, they've had 10 years and have never had a character arc or development at all. I'm tired of seeing them and there's nothing they can do to change this now.

No it's because it's the incident that sticks out the most in your character's head, Haurchefant is the first one to actually die for you simply because he liked you and not because you were a hero or because of destiny. He's also the one that smuggled you into Ishgard and got you a room in House Fortemps out of the goodness of his own heart. He's supposed to be "the big one." it is not the story's fault you remember a version of the crystal exarch that didn't happen and chose to ignore him making sure you got sandwiches and making sure he was prim and proper and presentable when the scions (and most importantly you) came up to meet him and he followed you and talked about wanting to be a hero whenever he wasn't busy with city administration and war-leading
/v/'s interpretation of the crystal exarch as a badass wizened leader is choosing to ignore half of his screentime and it is baffling because the other half is very much still g'raha tia as he was in the crystal tower raid and g'raha tia as he is now
Not that Anon for me, but the problem is that the wizened leader with a lifetime of weight on his shoulders half of his character isn't that present and I liked that half.
And I do get that he's happier now, he's not fricking dying now, I just want to have more G'raha as he was during the Radz-at-Han cutscene, capable of taking charge and showing flashes of "oh wait I have been a head of state for a century, haven't I, I know how to command a situation in a crisis" back, as opposed to being Y'shtola whom I can only describe as a book bimbo "teehee, I'm gonna be a great sage one day!"
Well the problem is there's no real reason for that aspect of his character to be present, he's good at taking control of a panicking crowd during a crisis but that situation is rare even within Endwlaker and, ideally, WoL will frick up whatever's causing the panic anyways. He's a hero simp at his core and he took charge as the Exarch more out of necessity than desire, it's why he was exasperated when taking charge in RaH.
There's also the fact that narratively speaking, once a character joins "the team" you have less of an allowance for them being able to just conjure solutions for problems out of their hats, so stuff like the Exarch tricking Rhanjit through magic in Lakeland or casting Break in order to petrify a whole room's work of enemies simultaneously and hold the line while you went ahead just couldn't work as much, so yeah.
I suppose it's just a matter of every once in a while finding little situations the character can get into where his strengths can shine, which is not a problem exclusive to him, from the very beginning of this fricking game we have had Alphinaud introduced as this grand diplomat and I am STILL waiting for a single fricking scene of watching him having a heated diplomatic debate with somebody and either convincing them or at least driving a fatal flaw into the case they're presenting, the way Nanamo did with Varis in post-SB.
Thancred gets "I'm a survivalist super spy" moments left and right, and the point of Urianger is precisely "I'm really fricking good at lyin to my friends but I DON'T fricking want to anymore, that shit hurts" in Endwalker, but all these other characters don't get much that draws from their specific personalities enough.

The issue with scions is that each one of them is a good moral person who takes everything 200% seriously. There isn't even a comic relief or anything if you don't count Graha eating burgers as comedy. Like Thancred could be one but they made him brooding for no reason. Estinien kind of stands out because he's edgy and rude but that's about it.
Do "comic relief party members" ever work anyway? There are preciously few cases of that working even in the 90s when it was everywhere.
Closest I can think of working is Jed in Stranger of Paradise and even then he's mostly mouthy and the "party face" rather than intended comedy relief. The proper way to go about it is to write an "underdog" character or somebody with a joking personality that's still competent instead of explicitly writing them as Comedic Relief, otherwise you just get Scrappy Doo.

This is only partially correct. While the GCD is 2.5 for most classes, once you reach a high enough level you begin to unlock a slew of abilities that are oGCD which you are meant to "weave" into (aka cast during) your GCD period. It starts out very slow, but it quickly ramps up the higher level you get. The real downside is that whenever you run lower level content, which is frequent if you're doing your Daily Roulettes, you'll be back to the 2.5 GCD with a lot of downtime.

Heated animations are complete shit. Only Dante is allowed to fire guns in a manner that moronic and WoL is nowhere near as cool as Dante.
Heat Blast or whatever the spammable weaponskill you get for Overheat has to be one of the saddest animations in the game, Buster pellets in Mega Man 1 were a more satisfying firearm projectile than that sad slow-moving crappy thing. The whole aesthetics of the job feel like a fricking mess, too, of course it's an MMO and it's not like I'm expecting FPS-level gun feedback but the gun just feels fricking sad to shoot in any circumstances so far.

I hate how this game is designed for people who are moronic. The dumb Black person who refused to use his aggro combo isn't going to be a better player now that you made it as simple as possible. He doesn't give a frick about improving, nothing can change that. You're just fricking over everyone who doesn't like the taste of glue.
DRK is "okay", strictly because I wasn't around to play it during the Golden Days so I don't know what I am missing outside of Carve & Spit seemingly being a button who's just there not really doing much that's interesting, but MCH genuinely bothers the everliving frick out of me, but I've always been a person who cared more about the animations and class fantasy rather than actual gameplay complexity. I play Paladin's, for god's sake, and that job also doesn't really feel like it has a lot going for it
It had a very unique playstyle involving MP management, since your DPS stance disabled your MP regeneration completely. This led to you needing to strategically decide when to use MP-costed abilities, the most important of which was Dark Arts, a buff that enhanced several abilities to make them more powerful. You also had abilities like Blood Price that increased your MP regen whenever you took damage, and Carve and Spit gave you a flat MP restoration.
The tl;dr is brainlets would complain because they would only use Dark Arts for Souleater, which increased the amount of HP the ability would restore, either not realizing or not caring that Dark Arts had way more applications than that. And at level 70, you also had to decide between using Blackest Night, the ultimate anti-tank buster shield, or risking some MP for Dark Arts. Also Dark Arts has an amazing animation.
Having the potential to buff specific abilities to have enhanced effects as a kind of super attack does seem fun, honestly. I do still have a soft spot for DRK, first time I used Abyssal Drain in a pack it made me smile a lot and I kind of wanted it to be that, the lifedrain tank, but it ends up neither being as healing-happy as Warrior nor feeling quite as damage-focused as Gunbreaker so it feels adrift. I am okay enough with Paladin just being your regular cookie-cutter good-natured "rally behind me, friends, I have a shield and I will keep us safe!" generic tank
It's ridiculous to me how Warriors have Bloodwhetting, but other tanks don't have anything that's nearly as busted fricking fun to use.
I don't want them to nerf it, I want them to give other tanks something that feels equally as great to have available, though I am not sure what.
I know some people think otherwise, but its time for Blackest Night to make a graceful exit after this expansion. Its a crutch used by bad tank players and for good tank players pretty much every other class specific defensive is better by a WIDE margin (Holy Shel, Corundum, Bloodwhetting in particular might be the strongest sub 30 cd ability in the game). Dark Knight is usually played by either beginners who like the class theme, or extreme endgame players who just need a dps off tank to push for records. There's a reason why most healers hate healing them in roulette.

I think the problem is more that Squenix is creatively bankrupt when it comes to tank classes, and we might as well only have one class with 4 different flavors. Hell this isn't even the first time this has happened to DRK, you could argue the introduction of the role skills, reprisal and low blow was the start of it.
The fact that you can basically just have one hotbar for tanks, and just change around the icons for shit does the exact same stuff is what makes it boring.
Both Dark Arts and Dark side DRK were exponentially better than WAR lite. The only vision these devs have for all jobs now is one of homogenized mediocrity.

Modding cosmetics into the game has been made extremely easy by dedicated fans who made a very powerful modding tool, but if you decide to use them, you are advised not to share your name in a place that Square Enix might be monitoring or you could get banned. Generally though, they don't care that much about cosmetics. They are mainly interested in banning "addons" which change the gameplay by injecting code into the client- a little bit more nuanced than a model swap, and they're very concerned about hacking.

If you love raiding, having an alt to do weeklies with is nice, but otherwise there really isn't much of a purpose. You can nab fantasia for about $7 if you look outside the mogstation, a little over 15 for a pack of 3. There's a plugin to also change what you look like if you don't want to spend money, but this is only client side; you'll still appear as a dude to everyone esle.
