It's got a great gimmick, it leaves you feeling like you're lost and actually stuck in a labyrinth. the aesthetics are awesome and add to the labyrinth feel, like an old ancient labyrinth built by a lost civilization, Atlantis, lost in the ocean. It's great, you're a fricking moron
I do, it's great. You're basically saying every dungeon crawler shouldnt have been made because you don't like mazes. Is too much for you to handle anon? Too much thinking involved for you?
>getting stuck underground is a thinking intensive process
The average Labyrinth enjoyer.

No, it was actually a good thread before you decided to mine salt in it.

Liking Labyrinth was never a good thread idea to begin with. Try branching out you boring sods.
Bots? Ohh you're delusional too. You havent said one thing of substance this whole time, everything is just buzzwords and you have the audacity to call others bots. 4/10
Yet you bots just keep coming out of the woodwork huh.
It adds to the tension of being underwater. If you frick up and can't find an air bubble fast enough or if you find an air bubble just in the nic of time, that's a fricking vibe.
No matter how good I get at running through a toilet, it'll never actually be fun. Play something better

Don't need to cope, I just don't play the game. Those who continue to need to, though. My condolences.

Yeah pretty much. Not going to let the delusion go unchecked. Someone's got to stand up to the bots or we'll be overrun

I like the level. The water sections give the game a real sense of tension and the aesthetics really are dope. The verticality of the robotnik fight is cool too
same, i rarely ever made it past spring yard and never got to star light as a kid, but i was able to make it to death egg (before getting a game over at mecha sonic) in sonic 2
The bossfight in this stage is really cool. You even get twice more points for landing the final hit on it than when you land the final hit on any other boss in the game, which is very cool.
It's fine. I like that Sonic 1 and CD save the fast levels for later in the game instead of wasting their best moments on the first few stages. It's what makes Star Light Zone and Stardust Speedway so good.
having to wait for the big bubble to spawn is the worth thing about water levels in Sonic. There should just always be one there. It's such an easy fix. What does standing still add to a Sonic level?

Maybe in theory. But in practice it means you just stand next to every bubble spawn point for maybe three or four seconds, which is boring, non-gameplay.
Why is that in my platformer that's supposed to prioritise speed? Mario never had that. Megaman never had that.
Is that what you do, just stand next to every bubble? Ive never done that, I always risk it, that's why it's fun. There's enough bubbles around to get one unless you frick up royally
I literally like Sonic more than Mario. Sonic water stages are shit though. Why does the supposedly faster and cooler series, have the more tedious shit in it?
There is right now a thread praising chaotix.
I guess it is going to be way more popular in the coming years since it is exactly what casuls expect from sonic.

Obstacles that don't completely halt flow would be nice. Might as well make it turn-based.

You're just standing there on the conveyor. You don't have to ask the game permission to hold a direction to avoid getting crushed.
I got seriously filtered by it as a kid, but I was like 4 when I first played it. Still one of my favorite sonic levels of all time, behind mystic cave. The music is so good
Mystic cave is good def like the music, but all sonic music rocks. I especially love the mini racing games in s3&k, the music in those are so catchy and the levels are so fricking awesome a comfy.
>There's no earthly way of knowing >Which direction we are going >There's no knowing where we're rowing >Or which way the river's flowing >Is it raining, is it snowing? >Is a hurricane a-blowing? - uh! >Not a speck of light is showing >So the danger must be growing >Are the fires of Hell a-glowing? >Is the grisly reaper mowing? >Yes! The danger must be growing >For the rowers keep on rowing >And they're certainly not showing >Any signs that they are slowing! >A-aa-aaa-aaaah!
It's definitely one of the best zones in 1, filtering scrubs since 1991.
For me, it was the master system version, it is very similar but way darker aesthetically.
The 16 bit theme of this zone is way more uplifting compared to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pwz_EVYRTM4
>definitely not on par with genesis sonic music
Yes, I was just pointing out how the whole zone on MS/GG feels more oppressive, at least for a kid.
The original zone is harder anyway, but the music made it more bearable for me. >Donald Duck
Idk, I played the shit out of Lucky Dime Caper and I don't remember anything sounding like this. The pyramid stage was spookier but not its music.
I use to hate it as a kid but honestly it became one of if not my favorite zones over time. I honestly like the water platforming and the music is nice.
I'm guessing the main haters of Labyrinth are probably just players that are of the "Sonic always needs to be going fast why isn't he going fast" crowd that can get pretty annoying.
its alright, just overstays its welcome
>aesthetic=good
>doesn't even look good anyway
Pity ye who take the bait
Favorite music, favorite level design, interesting ancient feeling vibe. It's truly the best sonic 1 level.
It's awful in every way. Slog Zone.

Yeah, I really want that out of a game, dude.

There isn't a bad Sonic 1 zone.
All of them except Green Hill are bad. Chores I never revisit.

Sonic 1 is a very average platformer with some tech demo gimmicks. Sonic 2 is beginning of complete dullness. These games, they were never very good.
And yet, infinitely more interesting than any Mario titles.
The platformer genre must be dog shit then.
labyrinth is so pretty, even the scrap brain version. its my favorite stage in the game easily.
I like the level. The water sections give the game a real sense of tension and the aesthetics really are dope. The verticality of the robotnik fight is cool too
Getting to this level as a kid was special because it looked cool af, and also I rarely made it past spring yard zone. Yet I could beat Sonic 2. Weird
same, i rarely ever made it past spring yard and never got to star light as a kid, but i was able to make it to death egg (before getting a game over at mecha sonic) in sonic 2
Now we know why a lot of people hate this zone. As a kid, they never got past Labyrinth, but they took it too seriously and seethed

Okay Nintendie.

This is the sonic 3 carnival zone barrel all over again /vr/o’s AHHHHHHH
>THIS LEVEL IS SO FUN!!!
>Got crushed by the spikes
>for you see, getting crushed makes a level fun
If you don't want obstacles then video games probably aren't for you.

Yeah, that part was a bit tricky at first, technical level design, good stuff
>ah yes, I play sonic for the technicality and slowness
>puffs on novelty bubble pipe

It's ok, the music sounds like something from a Donald duck Game. Not that it's bad, but it's definitely not on par with genesis sonic music.
