>angry anime poster upset his weebshit "shmup" is just hiding in the safe zones while pretty patterns of seizure lights dance around him
The only reason people give a shit about the one on the right is because of the generic anime girls and the easy pattern recognition.
ketsui and most cave games are worth it, toaplan, irem and more too.
most shooters are good rather than only easy ones being good, the issue of most people is that the genre has been lied by ignorance that is ultra hard when it has an average difficulty, the hardest games on the genre have a higher difficulty than anything else by having ridiculous requirements for getting onto the true last bosses rather than by the games being impossible, mixed with most people outside of it think that you are moving the entire character instead of one pixel makes for persons who believe that you need to be a god to play them.
most hard ones are worth it like any game by having cool gameplay, you aren't losing your time when you are having fun which these games always give like any other, is just that they tackle different themes and situations.
yeah without ever playing a shmup you pretty much cracked the code
also touhou has pretty small hitboxes while most oldschool shmups your hitbox covers most of the sprite and obstacles are meaty
left can be beaten first try as it mostly depends on your skill
right needs a good/long time of trial and error to figure out how to handle stupid shit
2all is decently hard, especially for a beginner, and especially if you are not using the best loadout. It's also harder due to lack of practice options.
pretty easy.
it's an excellent game but on a rate of difficulty is a 4/10
as a game is a 10/10 and a good starting shooter.
You haven't played Touhou then. Unlike most SHMUPS, ZUN is more focused on pattern design as an extension of the character rather than for pure difficulty.
Psikyo games are very hard on normal and insanely hard on anything higher
Big hitboxes
Fast bullets
Very punishing patterns
Enemies have high health on average
Your shots and bombs generally aren't very strong
Psikyo was a top tier developer though easily top 5 greatest shmup developers of all time
Touhou games are much easier than they look arguable some of the easiest danmaku
Tiny hitboxes, slow bullets, etc...
Zun can't really hold a candle to the greatest shmup devs either
Everyone agreeing and retweeting who've never played a schmup in their lives.
>schmup

2-all gunbird is definitely harder than most touhous on lunatic
>SCHUT EM UP
scumps are boring
SHMUPS are like fighting games.
People talk a lot about them but barely anyone plays them.
In Touhou, the hitboxes and bullets are really 1 pixel big. It's easy.
Hard Shmups are a meme by asian gays
The best ones are easy, have amazing soundtrack and are literally the peak of pick-up and play, like Therion or Wings of Thunder.
To be honest I kind of agree.
Not that all hard ones are not worth the effort but most indeed are a waste of time

UN Squadron was fun
I'm guessing it's that the one on the right moves in a consistent pattern and the one on the left doesn't?

i know which one is better
Yamame final is RNG aiming and has back-bullets with micrododging.
Left is aimed.
Shit thread with an attempt to have yet another touhou general.
bullet hells aren't really shmups.
you're a shmup.
are the bullets in that 2hu battle going fast?
1942 is still the best one
How hard is ZeroRanger, because it's kicking my ass harder than I remember the last shmup I played kicking it, which was Ikaruga twenty years ago
pretty easy.

Frick off stupid shitter and post clears.

i dont like bullet hell, well dodonpachi the old one on ps1/saturn is fun.
for me the genre peaked at ikaruga.
what the frick are schmups and why havent i heard this term until just a few months ago? what the frick does it mean
SHoot eM UP
It's a really old genre that died off (for the most part) after a certain point
armed police batriderchads rollcall
/shmupg/ bait thread
I thought it died to it's own cancer
Good riddance though
