He's a queer which means he's a pedophile who himself was molested
but he knows videogame design and is a big part of the reason fallout 1 was better than 2
Tim Cain is a huge gay who hasn't done anything noteworthy in the 21st century, but here is a direct quote from your own link: >Tim Cain began working on Fallout in 1994. It began as a game engine based on the tabletop role-playing game GURPS, but after Steve Jackson Games objected to Fallout's violence, Cain and designer Christopher Taylor created a new character customization scheme, SPECIAL.
So just like i fricking said, Cain is a code monkey that made a game engine based (initially) on GURPS, and when that fell through, Christopher Taylor designed their own proprietary ruleset called SPECIAL and Cain made the engine use that instead.
Sorry, but I don't hate the guy enough to make up my own headcanon about what was happening at Interplay 30 years ago. Cain was the sole developer on the game for 6 months when he had no support from higher-ups. If it wasn't for him, Fallout would not exist. That is pretty much the only achievement I am willing to give him, but it is one nonetheless.

Not him but I'm pretty sure you cannot put the word sole next to a plural. If the sentence had been "who worships a sole developer" it would make sense.
>argue and complain all the time
That's because you never made a game. You and all the other armchair designers.
That's why creators aren't as critical. They know what it takes, what goes into it. Consumers are flabbergasted when someone (not them of course) doesn't simply make a good game. They're like the nagging women who can't do shit themselves, but can point out things everyone else is doing wrong.
Thanks for standing up and powerfully stating the obvious. But you need to understand is Tim goes so far to say, among other things, that there are no bad games and heavily insinuating that people who didn't like or were critical about Outer Worlds simply had the wrong expectations.
Believe it or not but there are artists and creators who are critical about other people's shit and call things bad as well.
The fact that he is credited as the director for The Outer Worlds (Space RPG so shit and bland that the only saving grace of it was the fact that Bethesda made an even worse Space RPG) makes me believe that Fallout didn't become a masterpiece thanks to his brilliant ideas and involvement.
Jeez I forgot Fargo was still with them at the time of 2, did he work on 3 or was he simply still the head.
Also W3 has no right to be as good as it is while being one of Microsofts first modern developer acquisitions. They are wasting InExile.
I had absolutely no fricking idea who the OP was talking about and had to skim through the thread to find out he was talking about Fallout
I don't care for Fallout
Because WRPG's are an extension of tabletop, and tabletop got taken over by dramaschool homosexuals. The entire genre is being kept alive by eastern european chads like Styg and ATOM team, though. Speaking of which, they have a fully playable demo out for their new game, and i can already say it's the best WRPG made in decades solely for the fact that they've avoided the eternal DEX-gay curse by giving you AP for high STR and END too. Woah buddy, imagine that. Having high STR and END means you can swing your weapon more easily? Designing a system where DEX isn't the sole stat that determines your action points, your movement speed, your hit chance for both melee and ranged weapons, your AC, your chance to dodge attacks entirely etc etc? Madness i tell you.
>The entire genre is being kept alive by eastern european chads like Styg and ATOM team, though
But those people are exactly the types gygax warned about and said would ruin rpgs
Believe me, i know ATOM fricking sucked ass. The inside baseball Russian imageboard memes were fricking horrendous. Trudograd was genuinely good though. And like i said, Swordhaven already shit on every other WRPG for the sole fact they bothered designing a ruleset that fixed the DEX-gay plague.
An RPG is primarily more about writing moreso than gameplay. Arcanum's gameplay is weird and janky as shit but the writing helps make it bearable for example.
Is the writing in Swordhaven good? I don't care if DEX is good or not if I have to suffer through some moronic vatBlack person memes or whatever.
Every good piece of entertainment is a lightning in a bottle.
Every content creator is a monkey with a typewriter.
Nobody is able to make good works consistently.
Every good game to have came out is a matter of luck.
Soier, Avellone, Cain, they're all deranged homosexuals with no vision.
I don't know anything about this c**t other than the fact he is constantly posted on this board and his face looks like it belongs to a satirical cartoon character. Name his games.
>what le frick, the world doesn't revolve around ME?
Yes anon, the world exists outside your perception. It will even continue existing should you die. Crazy, i know.
Control was dogshit.

Zozzle.
Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad. Every single game he's written for has been consistently well written, which was the criteria.
I don't. The anon i originally responded to claimed that no-one produces quality content consistently, and Sam Lake was the first guy that popped in my head to disprove that claim.
>Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad.
Just because you like it doesn't mean it's good, either. >Every single game he's written for has been consistently well written

I never claimed it did. I never even claimed i liked all his games, because i don't. I don't like Control, because i don't like the genre of "new-weird" SCP-likes, but i can still admit it was well written. I can also say that Outer Worlds was utter dogshit, despite the fact i like SCI-FI as a genre.

Yes, because when a homosexual puts trsnny shit into a game - you can safely ignore it because it's a rock solid red flag that the game content will be shit.
But when a schizo paychopath takes the reigns - it can land on any spot in the spectrum.
Every since I heard he is gay I can't watch his videos without thinking a weiner going into his mouth and spraying cum all over that beard. I don't know if I can ever replay F1 and F2 knowing he had his gay hands all over them.
I respect him. It's sad each time he mentions Fallout. His IP was taken from him twice and you can tell that he deeply cares for it. I feel bad for him that he's colorblind and gay too.
Did he really? those shits destroyed our country and you cant even fricking spot the flag you helped install?
absolute fricking poser conformist bastards.
>Tim Cain makes a youtube channel where he talks about game development related topics >shares a story why he left Interplay >online crowd starts harassing people he mentioned in the video >has to politely ask morons on the internet to stop doing this shit
People ask why no one who worked in the game industry shares any stories in the format that Tim Cain started doing recently. Here's why.
If leftoids are allowed to enjoy Lovecraft and Robert Howard than I can enjoy Fallout without subscribing to Cain ideology.
In fact, that's how every piece of media should be experienced or you'll risk stagnating by closing yourself in a bubble.
What are the odds of microsoft giving him the F4/76 engine and just letting him make another fallout? The series has gained normie interest through the show, but they can only either play a 10 year old game or a FOMO live service piece of shit.
If he just made a game that mostly reused 4/76 assets, like NV did, the budget wouldnt even have to be big. 76 alone has huge weapon variety and the elaborate weapon mods like 4 did.
Hed just make a shitty nu-game, even with post NV Obsidian he just made a crappy game that coasted off of coattails. guy shouldnt be in charge of anything.
Maybe as a consultant on something more roleplay oriented, but the guy clearly just follows industry convention while lacking an introspective design process, leading to rather sub par "it works" systems and a lackluster implementation of said system.
I would however no matter the extent of shitshowery that could occur from it, like to see people like Tim, Romero, American Mcgee and Raphael Colantonio could make, a creative jam if you will.(theyd probably just kill eachother though)
2 is really undercooked, it has neat ideas but even the directors cut it still falls apart at the end.
W3 is what id call one of the best streamlined RPGs yet, they took away some bloat and made it a more "fun" combat experience, def recommend checking it out, the covers that play during certain fights damn near make it worth trying.
I don't know if it's a you problem, but I hated how bullet spongy enemies were. It didn't matter what kind of gun and mods I gave my team, it always felt like I barely did any damage. Was is because I was playing on the Ranger difficulty?
Nah thats W2 for you, exceedingly min maxxy and that kind of is what they were going for, tough enemies up front out of cover and soft enemies at the back in cover.
But I had that issue with Wasteland 3.
I've finished Wasteland 2 two times and the battles didn't feel underwhelming there.
I'll give W3 another playthrough, maybe I didn't understand the mechanics.
>But I had that issue with Wasteland 3
Black person wat?
No offence but wasteland 3 is one shot central, hell thats exactly what happened to Reagan for me!
Here's a tip: One guy with nothing but CHA and leadership, hes your rally bot maybe give him and smg. Then a medic hacker shotgun user with full int and animal companion. Then a sniper/explosives guy with dull int. And finally a flamer weird science heavy weapons guy with toaster repair.
Great team for slapping the shit out of enemies, cant remember if energy weapons were their own class of item though, if they are give that to the sniper instead of explosives maybe, IF an enemy has armor, that energy sniper will multiply damage by that number in some way, leads to ridiculous one shot moments.
1. that's not sakaguchi

Just look at the last game I worked on: Its everything else I worked on, but not as good. Really got my addrenaline pumping, gotta say. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a twink to frick
I like his channel, he has a lot of good insights into game development.
There's one schizo who spams hate threads about him for some reason, closet homosexual probably.
It's the seething Josh Sawyer schizo from /vrpg/ who can't accept that Tim Cain outgrew Sawyer's YouTube channel in a few month vs like 10 years.
>/vrpg/
Sad that a schizo made it their home
Why would anyone care about a youtube channel that wasn't their own who hardly ever posts?
Because the /vrpg/ Sawyerbot is a schizo.

He's a queer which means he's a pedophile who himself was molested
but he knows videogame design and is a big part of the reason fallout 1 was better than 2
The fact that he is credited as the director for The Outer Worlds (Space RPG so shit and bland that the only saving grace of it was the fact that Bethesda made an even worse Space RPG) makes me believe that Fallout didn't become a masterpiece thanks to his brilliant ideas and involvement.
Gays can only do good in a homophobic environment
I really don't like fallout and I especially don't like that frickin homosexual.
this guy and josh sawyer should frick and have a kid
he is a gay
No, he had nothing to do with Shining Force I or II or Phantesy Star I through IV.
19:10
I disavow and reject any and all Fallout related media.
Fargo won.
What a fricking moron holy shit. Just lost any respect I had for this homosexual.
Based fellow inXile chad
>mfw Wasteland reigns supreme
Jeez I forgot Fargo was still with them at the time of 2, did he work on 3 or was he simply still the head.
Also W3 has no right to be as good as it is while being one of Microsofts first modern developer acquisitions. They are wasting InExile.
I had absolutely no fricking idea who the OP was talking about and had to skim through the thread to find out he was talking about Fallout
I don't care for Fallout
No. He used to be cool but no longer.
Why are homosexuals attached to WRPGs like a moth to a flame?
But those people are exactly the types gygax warned about and said would ruin rpgs
>atom rpg
>good
lmao
If I wanted a fricking awful, janky shitfest written by pre-teen Gankerners I'd play that - but I don't.
Play the demo and judge yourself. The demo ends after town 1, but what little writing there was, was by my estimation better than Trudograd.
He started the South Park games?
Wow, he created Monster Hunter?
>apologized to a troony
he deserves no respect
So this is the angle shills are going to use to try to slide their latest product on the front and sell it to anons? lmao.
he worked on Gothic 1? shit, I never knew.
>Every content creator is a monkey with a typewriter.
>Nobody is able to make good works consistently.
I don't know anything about this c**t other than the fact he is constantly posted on this board and his face looks like it belongs to a satirical cartoon character. Name his games.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Lake
>control
>alan wake 2
Zozzle.
Control was dogshit.
>literally no one I know even played it
>winning at award shows 5 minutes after it released
???
>what le frick, the world doesn't revolve around ME?
Yes anon, the world exists outside your perception. It will even continue existing should you die. Crazy, i know.
Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad. Every single game he's written for has been consistently well written, which was the criteria.
Why do you have Remedy's wiener in your throat?
I don't. The anon i originally responded to claimed that no-one produces quality content consistently, and Sam Lake was the first guy that popped in my head to disprove that claim.
>Just because you like it doesn't mean it's good, either.
>I don't like Control, because i don't like the genre of "new-weird" SCP-likes, but i can still admit it was well written.
Lmao.
You have any actual arguments or are you just going to go YOU ARE SILLY
>EET EES GUUD!
>Wow, you're not even gonna have a counter against my bulletproof argumentation?
Heeheehee.
Remedy is a "art" studio now, they produce movie games for the movie game audience to guffaw over.
Its good because its pretty has expensive voice acting and le whacky marketing moment for trailers and game shows.
None of that is good althougheverbeit.
I know, thats why I sound so b***hy, I hate this fricking trend.
Oh, my bad, I thought you were the same lad insisting to me that those games are "good".
>guffaw over
A loud laugh, but you can also use it as a snooty art critic insult.
>they had taped a tampon to an egg white wall, they were gufawing at it
>Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad.
Just because you like it doesn't mean it's good, either.
>Every single game he's written for has been consistently well written
Zozzle.
>Just because you don't like something doesn't make it bad.
What? Yes it does, my taste is objective.
Alan wake 2 is pozzed nepo shit
obviously we just need deranged psychos instead
Yes, because when a homosexual puts trsnny shit into a game - you can safely ignore it because it's a rock solid red flag that the game content will be shit.
But when a schizo paychopath takes the reigns - it can land on any spot in the spectrum.
That's not Yuji Horii though.
He's a fricking homosexual
He seems moronic. He posted some video about his pitch for BG3 and it was a first person shooter game with moba spell cooldowns.
imagine respecting homosexuals
Damn Sakaguchi looks way different now.
Every since I heard he is gay I can't watch his videos without thinking a weiner going into his mouth and spraying cum all over that beard. I don't know if I can ever replay F1 and F2 knowing he had his gay hands all over them.
>everytime i see him i have gay thoughts
Anon..
NTA but can you look at him the same way after knowing he takes it up the ass from his husband every night?
Yeah, it doesn't cross my mind
>your favorite RPG franchise
cute
I didnt know Anton LaVey made Wizardry what the frick
I respect him. It's sad each time he mentions Fallout. His IP was taken from him twice and you can tell that he deeply cares for it. I feel bad for him that he's colorblind and gay too.
? I thought he didn't care for making sequels anyway
>"Tim that's not the LGBTQ+ flag, it's South Africa"
Good post
Did he really? those shits destroyed our country and you cant even fricking spot the flag you helped install?
absolute fricking poser conformist bastards.
>Tim Cain makes a youtube channel where he talks about game development related topics
>shares a story why he left Interplay
>online crowd starts harassing people he mentioned in the video
>has to politely ask morons on the internet to stop doing this shit
People ask why no one who worked in the game industry shares any stories in the format that Tim Cain started doing recently. Here's why.
I don't think some fat old white guy started Lunar.
Fallout isn't my favorite RPG thougheverbeit. It's good but not as great as you homosexuals make it out to be.
Funny, I don't recall a fat, balding old man creating Shin Megami Tensei or Etrian Odyssey.
>weeb teenager doesn't understand how time works
That wasn't the burn you intended it to be, holy kek.
It wasn't intended to be a burn, but a statement of fact.
They most certainly are old. Zoomzoom once again displays a lack of understanding of the passage of time.
I am most likely older than you are.
I was born in 1989. You were born in 2006.
Strange, I don' recall being born 16 years after my birth. Guess time starts getting fuzzy in your 30s.
he simply knows you are into unbirth
If leftoids are allowed to enjoy Lovecraft and Robert Howard than I can enjoy Fallout without subscribing to Cain ideology.
In fact, that's how every piece of media should be experienced or you'll risk stagnating by closing yourself in a bubble.
But my favorite RPG franchise is Ys. However, I admit that I like F1, 2 and NV.
who?
He stopped making good games when he officially came out of the closet.
No he didn't, because my favorite RPG franchise isn't Fallout.
Not making a value judgement, I'm just interested in the likelyhood of it all.
>This man LITERALLY started your favorite RPG franchise.
That isn't Hironobu Sakaguchi though.
>Hironobu Sakaguchi
Jesus this guys been busy! are dragon quest and xeno worth a try for a Wrpg player?
>worth a try for a Wrpg player?
There's no gay butt sex so no.
Sounds perfect danke.
He is a gay
And the he made outer worlds.
He started SMT?
Not an rpg ;/
Why do people dislike white chocolate?
He never gave a reason why he despises it.
If its the really fake stuff it tastes like industrial dust.
Is wasteland any good? I tried to give 2 several tries but got bored around the lab that was taken over by monsters early on.
Oh my god, he started Golden Sun??
Not an rpg ;/
he didn't work on F2 so his gay opinions about some soulless corporate slop are irrelevant to me
Actually he did.
1. that's not sakaguchi
2. I shit on sakaguchi all the time for being a hack making useless low quality slop ever since he left Square
3. tim is pretty cool tho, I like his videos. I wish he was working on something better than the outerworlds. He got me to read Lord of Light which is fantastic
>'Ello, 'Ello, its your big gay grandpa here, to tell you, yes (you) that you are a bad person! You should take risks in game development, like me. Just look at the last game I worked on: Its everything else I worked on, but not as good. Really got my addrenaline pumping, gotta say. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a twink to frick
>I have a twink to frick
Cain strikes me as a bottom
Literally who?
He literally gave birth to the Fallout franchise.
Who's the father?
Leonard Boyarsky.
he gay
and?
he's homosexual
the caucausian persuasion
he gets it up the ass
He's literally gay
He didn't start Elder Scrolls. So I don't give much frick about him and his opinions.
