        >Plot becomes an incoherent Hinduism allegory
        >Entire last 10 hours of the game are the final dungeon with minimal new content and five seconds of story every floor
        >Getting Heat in 2 requires you to be moronic in 1
The story in 1 was actually interesting so the direction it goes in 2 was a disappointment.

This. The writer wanted it to be longer.

Forgot to elaborate that the game is only 30 hours long including that so it's a whole third of the game, unlike other SMT games which are generally closer to 80 hours long.

My be my favorite album. What genre of music is it called? Or any other albums/groups similar to them? I absolutely adore their music and what more.

The broad term for it is downtempo though it has more influences than just that, such as d&b, trip hop and downtempo. Portishead is probably the most famous example though it's not entirely similar.

Most of the other SMT games have better gameplay mechanics than just grinding eating people all the time. This one just has much, much better characters and story than just the copy pasted alignment representatives in every entry.

Im pretty sure one of them is the second option, wasnt it?

Looking at gamefaqs because it's been so long.
      >“No, I can’t...”
      >“It doesn’t matter.”
Then there's one that doesn't actually matter but people think it does. That might be the one you're thinking of. That one is also obvious, and just pick the first. I think there's a couple choices in DDS2 too which are also just the 1st option.

now the reason I picked the butthole option in the beginning was because I thought it was thematically appropriate
Everyone is all merciless and agrilla is the compassionate one, I thought it made sense if Serph is like everyone else in the beginning of the game because I expected the character arc of everyone gaining feelings

It makes sense with the story why you would be nice when you play 2.

I need to start 1 from the beginning because you have no way of knowing that choosing the wrong dialogue choice at the beginning of the game locks you out of a unique ability in 2

Real novelist making the story. It was so mysterious but knew exactly how much to give you to keep you interested. That's why it went to shit immediately in the sequel where SMT goes back to its lazy story beats.

I might read the novels sometime, I heard they're not all translated though.

It's the first option every time. They're not obtuse either, you just pick the options that don't involve you being a c**t.

you can miss out on heat in 2 if you pick the wrong options
but there is only 3 instances where the dialogue choice matters in regards to missing content

            Anonymous

No but also yes, its not really that important though, its a few skills and an alternate character at the end of the second game, some dialogue at the beginning of the last dungeon. Think thats all

I assume he's talking about getting Heat back on the sun, which the dialogue choices for are so obvious you'd have to be turbo autistic to get them wrong. Two in 1, and two in 2. I don't recall the two special moves requiring anything at all besides just importing the save.

          >which the dialogue choices for are so obvious you'd have to be turbo autistic to get them wrong
Nah, that's bullshit. Refusing to fight Heat on the ship in 1 is outright failing to understand him as a character. It's ridiculous that that's the choice you need to make.

Yes, exactly, which is why it should be blindingly obvious that Heat wanting to fight is a ruse. Agreeing to that is being on the same wavelength as him. Refusing to fight him is not understanding Heat's intentions.

This is some serious mental gymnastics all to keep from admitting a good game had some batshit moronic decisions.

Who cares if it's a ruse, the baddies obviously want you to fight each other so to humiliate and weaken you enough to take out afterward. Refusing to accept their demands is a much more appropriate choice for the leader you're supposed to be.

The aesthetics and transformed party member design are golden, it's almost a shame it's a SMT game and so some of the sillier monsters clash terribly with them.

    Also, screw the grinding.
