This motherfricker is one of my favourite pokemon and has one of my favourite shinies so I wanna shiny hunt it. Is the usual cave still the best area for shiny hunting? And what ball would you say it's the best? Sometime tells me Friend Ball by maybe it's too much green.
CENTRO
ANON NO!
Can someone explain why Roaring Moon gets a meme, but not Iron Valian?
So during SV leak season, someone posted the first picture of Roaring Moon here on Ganker and put "CENTRO IS A Black person" on it
Centro, being a dumb attention prostitute and a Black person, just published that image unedited on his twitter in a compilation of leaked images. He deleted it later and posted a censored version, but still.
Oh, so it's a call out of a digital dummy.
Yeah it was really fricking funny.
the quest to evolve Finizen was great too
Palafin vs Scovillain >>>>>>>>>> Tinkaton vs Corviknight spam
someone could make a “Khu is a chink” for Iron Valiant
Yeah the hidden cave has good visibility. It's still annoying to hunt because either type sandwich has plenty of other Pokemon spawns. I used a Moon Ball for mine.
Moon Ball is the easy choice, and the color of the moon itself doesn't match with the mon's wings so I have to pass.
Honestly, the Lure Ball looks the best for base Roaring Moon imo, the yellow lines on the red section surrounded by blue are just like its torso, it's pretty much perfect, but I want a shiny one and no ball has a green that matches its skin so I'm wondering if I should go for balls that mix red and yellow
The only other dragons that can appear in Scarlet there are Gabite (with Gible in a group) and Zweilous. Other dark types, on the other hand, are Sableye, Sneasel, Weavile, Zweilous again and Umbreon if it's night time.
Dragon spawn power is clearly the best option
>Is the usual cave still the best area for shiny hunting?
Yes, the only place Roaring Moon can be found is the best place to hunt it...
It spawns in the crater since Teal Mask update.
Here's a handy tip to improve your odds. Eat a dragon sandwich, and move around in such a way that no more than 4 things despawn at a time. By doing this, no "pack spawns" can appear, which includes the unavoidable Houndstone packs, as well as the Gabite packs. Only Zweilous and Roaring Moon will be able to spawn.
My personal method was taking a few steps at a time, while a fast 'mon ran around to KO random things.
>move around in such a way that no more than 4 things despawn at a time
And how is that?
It's counterintuitive, but to hunt Roaring Moon you have to move slowly.
There's a maximum amount of Pokémon that can spawn at any given time. And packs count as the total Pokémon, not as one. If you ram around, several Pokémon will despawn at once and that will open space for packs to spawn. If you move slowly, only one Pokémon will spawn at a time which prevents packs from appearing. And if you're hunting RM, you want to avoid packs at all costs.
Found a shiny Zweilous and a minute after a shiny Roaring Moon, this trick is absolutely the key. I still have 20 minutes of my sandwhich so I think I will try and get another one because why not
Yeah get another one, they trade well in pokemon home. I got a Miraidon for one of these
I will never understand the people who trade their mascot legendaries. At least wait until the next gen to be allowed to catch another specimen before trading your super magical animal species
They probably temporarily trade their stuff to a friend and then restart the game to get more
But you can catch two in the game
The second one is the only one that counts, anon. Your pokeride can't be traded, it's your eternal bro in Paldea and will never help you complete your dex in future games/Home.
Well I guess if you care about that then I get your point
However I do not, plus the tradeable Raidon is a coldblooded butthole
Tiny Roaring moon kek, give it a Mini mark next.
Do not bully the teeny greenie!
Wait until the DLC. There may be new AZ areas with better spawn rates for Roaring Moon
There's no other shiny hunt thread up so I'm using this one too. Caught this lass on an 87-streak fishing chain, was gonna use either Horsea or Clauncher, whichever came up first. Really happy, especially since I didn't use Sticky Hold to guarantee encounters, but Synchronize to set its nature.
Should I follow Centro for leaks?
got it on dusk ball after four days of sandwich runs, no regrets best of lucks with yours
>Dusk Ball
>dark type
Yeah the dark type is bright red and faint emerald green with yellow details. You don't think Dive Ball or Net Ball match Corphish' look just because it's a water type do you?
You mean the shiny that's primarily green, orange-shifted red and black doesn't fit the pokeball that's primarily green, orange-shifted red, and black?
Anon, look at the proportions of each color in their designs, and look at the actual colors.
The idea that a color scheme has to fit proportionally is peak color theory-let behavior. Also, by this logic, virtually no Pokeball truly matches any Pokemon, with only a select few exceptions. Any other alternative Pokeball choice does not fit shiny Roaring Moon according to your standards.
I never said it has to fit perfectly, moron-kun. Net Ball and Lure Ball don't fit perfectly either, but they are objectively closer to Roaring Moon's shiny color scheme
>I never said it has to fit perfectly, moron-kun.
Then why bring up proportions if its a meaningless metric here, moron-kun?
>Net Ball and Lure Ball don't fit perfectly either, but they are objectively closer to Roaring Moon's shiny color scheme
Unironically color blind
>redditspacing
Anyway, I never said proportions are meaningless you dumb illiterate, I said they don't have to be perfect. Picking up the closest one to Roaring Moon's is the way to go.
>color blind
Yes, you are, since you think orange fits red better than... just red again, and green fits aquamarine better than turquoise.
>calls out Reddit spacing
>then proceeds to Reddit space
The use of paragraphs (or in this case subjects) isn't redditspacing, moron. Redditspacing is when there's a space between every single line because the site apparently makes you press enter twice for each line, so when redditors are in another site they end up creating a gap between lines simply because they are used to hit enter twice.
Just like here
Those lines have no business being separated by such a gap, it's the mark of a redditor.
Dusk Ball is objectively the closest of these, moron. Net Ball is teal, no longer green and has way too much black for your "le proportions" issue, in addition to missing red/orange and yellow altogether. Lure is now fully in blue territory, even further from green. The red is closer, but the yellow is equally dissimilar as Dusk's Green is to RM's Green. It's also missing black.
Brandan and May?
Brendan
I kinda see it
Cartman and Kyle?
HOLY KEK
kek now I kinda see it, don't diggin the Dusk ball look
Lel
LMAO
even though its shiny and dusk's colors are similar, looks exclusive balltism is narrow; they both match perfectly cause they're for water types. dark energy is enough to match a dark type unless you're imagination dry
ahem
Please don't....Centro is a hardworking poke servant
also using as a shiny hunt thread but started to double hunt pichu on a cart of blaze black 2 again along with vanillite and got this. pretty sure croagunk's rare here on top of static.
Hijacking this thread to b***h about Shinies too.
>last couple Masuda attempts have been very light and easy to get Duraludon, Porygon, Torchic
>Treecko took me about 900-something
>then there's this fricker
Binomial probability is a big meme.
I'm also doing Celebi in Crystal, which I know will be a long haul, 1,501 in currently. If I had the cash and programming smarts for it, I'd set up a machine to make it easier, but I'm in for the long haul on that one, and gotta believe I can do it.
Whay website is that tracker
Caught mine in a beast ball and it looks fantastic
I used a dragon sandwich in the cave and I got two of them, along a shiny gabite and a zweilous, so yeah it is a good spot
I catch all paradox pokemon in timer balls cause of the clock particles that pop when you throw them in
>using anything other than a standard pokeball
ngmi
It's incredible how much it mogs the original. Salamance is like the one pseudo I don't really like alongside Baxcalibur, but this guy's alright
I'm sick of everyone shilling Salamence. It's fat but not in the cute way like Dragonite, its short legs are laughable, its wings look straight up moronic and with zero appeal, like what a literal child would draw (at least Mega and Paradox go for the blood moon aesthetic), its color scheme is the simplest shit ever, also toddler tier (ironically, its incorrect colors from gen 3 and 4 sprites were more interesting) and there's another 3-stage dragon in the region with a better design that also fits in an interesting area of the game (Flygon's google eyes for the desert).
Mega-Salamence is unironically a better design that simply looked goofy with the game's permanent flying policy (see modded BDSP for a Mega-Salamence that stays on the ground), but both are worse than Roaring Moon.
I really don't get its appeal outside of being a nostalgiagay, Metagross absolutely mogs it design-wise. I think Roaring Moon looks so much better because its wings are actually somewhat detailed and have a pleasant shape, and it's not all around awkwardly fat and round. The slightly different color scheme also work much better, base Salamence should be retconned to have similar colors as well
I agree that Flygon should have taken its place, like Haxorus should have taken Hydreigon's place too. Unfortunately the later's paradox's form is even worst than the passable original
>Salamence: Mommy my tummy hurt
>Megamence: I crave violence
>Roaringmoon: I AM VIOLENCE
Normal Salamence looks so fricking dumb compared to its mega and paradox equivalents
>It's fat but not in the cute way like Dragonite
It's not fat. It's got a splayed out, lizard-like hip posture, similar to a crocodile. It's wide and flat.
>Wasn't even looking for the frick, or any shiny for that matter
>Thought about how shinies must be easy to find here
>This frick spawns moments after
This place makes wishes come true.
heh
That's its thing yes
It’s probably the easiest paradox shiny to get multiples of. I caught 3 from one sandwich.
There's a youtube tthat shows you how best to shiny hunt it. Go find it, took me about 4 sandwiches to find it and a shiny Zweilous.
I don’t like how my team of bros gets the stupid affection bonuses if I make the sandwich
but that’s just my ‘tism, I guess
Shinies belong in Premier Balls
Definitely not trying that shit on a legendary shiny. I ended up needing to catch a shiny Regigigas in a Master Ball because it shrugged off like a hundred timer balls. Feels bad.
>not using Pain Split
That buys 16 turns at most, unless I've got PP items to spare.
>16 more tries and more if you have PP items
Yeah? How is that a bad thing?
If over a hundred tries at 1 HP didn't work, I don't think 16 at mid HP is going to do much better.
That's not how probability works, anon. And considering you can't save on a shiny in those games, you want to extend the number of tries as much as possible.
And PP items. You did mention PP items so why are you counting them out?
>That's not how probability works, anon.
It is how my luck works, though.
>You did mention PP items so why are you counting them out?
I didn't have any, it was a pretty old file that had used them all.
Thematic balls are for normal balltism. Shiny balltism requires color matching balls since the entire difference from normal is the color palette
Which one is stronger, Mega-Salamence or Roaring Moon?
roaring moon by virtue of being able to use items.
On a no-items 1v1 I thing MEGAMence is the strongest one but its not a big difference to be honest
How do people shiny hunt on Dynamax Adventures
The odds aren't great and the npcs are moronic. It takes like 20 mins to reach the end and you'll probably lose.
>playing SwooShit
Beginner mistake.
It's not so bad when you really figure it out. Also you can turn off animations. I had Necrozma runs down to 10 minutes. You just need to learn what Pokemon to go for. Don't think about trying Zygarde though, that shit is difficult even with 4 humans.
>let's slap some feathers on salamence and pretend it's a new fricking pokemon!
paradox mons were a catastrophic mistake
kys you autistic parrot
NO! gamefreak is lazy and somebody needs to call them out for it
they are lazy for rushing out half finished games with abysmal graphics not for fricking gimmick pokémon you stupid fricking moron
you are doing nothing but being an annoying fricking PEST on this godforsaken website
KYS
their pokemon designs since gen 6 are just as lazy as their games. the fact that they keep rehashes older mons in really lazy ways like the OP is proof of that
>let's make modifications on preexisting mons for these mons that are literally preexisting mons seen by the lens of a cryptid author who wants them to pass as ancient or futuristic versions of themselves
Yes. You might as well ask why megas and regionals look like previous mons too.
>>let's make modifications on preexisting mons
this isn't a good thing
it means gamefreak is being lazy with their pokemon designs
>Make modifications to preexisting, successful pokemon
Sounds like a winning formula to me
So you are saying different forms of old pokemon, as well as ancient/future versions of them, shouldn't look similar to the original ones? Because that's moronic.
>inb4 no, it's just that they shouldn't have used those ideas!
That's moronic too, because those are good ideas.
gamefreak shouldn't be making forms of older pokemon at all because it takes less effort to do that than designing a new mon from the ground up
>everytime they finish a pokemon they should never touch it again!
You are gay.
when at least one third of the new designs each gen use the older pokemon as a crutch instead of starting from scratch then yes it's bad. it looks like gamefreak is running out of ideas. there are rare instances such as Walking Wake that have some genuine creativity behind them but these are outnumbered by the uncreative designs. Walking Wake feels like it was made first and the rest of the past paradox mons were an afterthought
So you don't have a problem with paradox, megas, regionals and the such, you just wish the proportion and quality changed.
yeah, maybe i should have worded my posts differently. i think the fans have made some pretty good paradox designs, it's just that gamefreak is lazy. i don't want them to revisit old designs anymore if they are going to keep making the trash that have got in the 3D era
Future paradoxes are shit except for Miraidon and Valiant I can give you that
Go moonball, color coordination is moronic.
Brainlet choice
