Oh, I'd say that the "sorry that our game doesn't work, thanks for the money btw" social media post was quite effective marketing.
People are still waiting for them to fix the game's performance. It's as if it never released because as far as any PC player is concerned, it hasn't yet. There is no excluse for unstable 50fps on middling settings at 1080p on an RTX 3080. There is no excuse for massive CPU underutilization. There is no excuse for per-launch recompilation of all shaders.

I recently am playing on PS5 and they basically fixed performance mode now. Koboh doesn't run like a piece of shit now.
All I know is that it refuses to stay at 60fps on mid settings at 1080p on a 3080. And it's not like the game is trying very hard to look good, considering that you are seeing Unreal Engine occlusion culling artifacts looming around every corner, so it's not exactly being overzealous about off-screen drawing.
I just finished it on PS5, it's a definite improvement but the game is still janky.
The water has this horrid occlusion applied to it and whenever you're indoors and rotate the camera, there's flashing white patches.
Same exact thing happened to SF6, Diablo 4, Atomic Heart, Amnesia. There's nothing to shitpost about and it's not Gankercore.

Lol this is nonsense. Performance depends almost solely on your CPU. I get around 90fps with a 3060ti (outside of koboh) because my CPU is good, you probably get unstable 50 because you're running a Ryzen 2600x or something.
If it was a CPU issue, the game would actually be using some goddamn CPU, but it isn't. I have an i7 13700, which is probably at least three times the power of whatever AMD pos you mentioned
Then there's something very wrong with your game. I have inferior specs to you and get better performance. Or are you just measuring it in the center of Koboh? Because that's like 5% of the game but everyone seems to measure performance there for some reason.
Well yeah. I do indeed measure performance in the most performance-intensive part of the game. Why would I not be doing that? The game runs fine in most situations. I've got it locked at 75fps because I don't really need more and any dips would be more jarring at 144fps. But you do still notice the horrible performance in the Koboh valley.
When I enable the NVidia extended performance metrics, it often says that the 99% fps is something like 25. I don't think that's really acceptable. And yes I know that the engine does a lot of real-time asset fetching from the SSD. That's what made Fallen Order literally unplayable on a HDD. That's why I've got Survivor installed on an M.2 NVME drive.

I think it should be measured in the parts of the game that represent average gameplay, and average gameplay for me was platforming in distant areas or fighting in arenas, and it ran acceptably for me there with the GPU being the bottleneck. Did not run well, but acceptably.
Yeah in the parts where it actually matters, the performance doesn't frick you over. Grandmaster difficulty timings are still manageable because actual difficult combat areas don't run terribly. I do still think the game should be using the CPU more for things that can use CPU.

they suck because disney had to disney it up for all their young audiences. Lightsabers are all on the youngling safety mode at like all times, our new main protag is a mary sue who has unique force abilities, our new main antag is a mary sue who has unique force abilities, they spend more time whining about how shit their lives are than anything else, plus we got the shoehorned minority quota filled, the fact that so many people get stabbed with a saber and they just fricking... dont die. Like hey, remember when qui-gon got stabbed? Remember when he came back? Yeah thats right, as a retcon edit force ghost at the end of episode 6 alongside anaskid shitwalker.
Remember darth maul? remember how he didn't come back until the clone wars series revived him to be this shadowy antag? Yeah it was a little cheap but to be fair maul was a set piece villain in the movies, the clone wars gave his character substance, motivation, and development. When we finally see maul vs obi-wan for the last time its actually fricking worth it, even tho the fight lasted maybe 2 seconds.
This is the shit disney will never understand. They wont understand why ass-soaker is a good character, they wont understand why nobody likes rei, or the Black persontrooper who somehow magically knows how to use a lightsaber somewhat competently...

Respawn tried to lie about lightsabers in Fallen Order, that they wanted to reserve dismemberment for "poignant scenes" even though everything except a human being gets to be dismembered and sliced in half right on the screen. It was obviously just because EA insisted on the game hitting specific age rating criteria, even though that dismemberment wouldn't even disqualify the game. Now, the sequel actually fixed that issue and has dismemberment for all enemies enabled. The lightsabers still hit life foam bats but that's just a gameplay contrivance.
I know how to make a jedi game with one hit kill lightsabers work just fine without making it too difficult but nobody's ever going to make a game that way it seems.

This is just one of those games that doesn't appeal to Ganker so people think it barely exists. There's nothing really bad about the game and there's nothing amazingly good about it either, so there's no shitpost or meme material.

I'm impressed that they somehow even have performance issues in a game like this. It's 'open world' but a lot of the sections you travel through are relatively linear.

It was decent, but 70 bucks is too much for games especially ones that aren't properly optimized. Plus it's a western game, and this is Ganker.
All western singleplayer games get forgotten after a while unless they come from publishers like Bethesda. Even Doom: Eternal is kinda forgotten. Hogwarts broke sales records and that game is even more forgotten than Jedi. There's also the issue of 2023 being an incredibly stacked year, why talk about some maybe decent game from half a year ago when you've got BG3 and Starfield and Lies of P releasing recently, Elden Ring DLC soon,
