Zarude is literally just a monley that.has vines wrapped around its arms but it's still grass. You dont have to be a plant to have the grass type elemental aspect
Why didn't you use Treecko or Skiddo as an example
Treecko has a plant bulb tail and Skiddo has a leaf mane
a better example is something like Virizion or Tapu Bulu that have nothing “plant” about them
Bulu is a literal fertility idol
Virizion is based on Aramis who was basically the town bike so same case, different scenario
Tapu Bulu has wood elements. Wood gets filed under Grass-type.

The only reason Fire types get Soloar beam is so that CHARIZARD can get grass coverages but back then they weren’t completely obsessed with CHARIZARD so other Fire types were all were allowed to get it
