Im definitly think Urshifu getting "cut" next gen is possible if Dexit carries on, mostly going by how things seem to be handled in 8 and 9. The biggest clincher i think is if the SV DLC will pull the Dynamax Adventure card.
I think it is worth keeping in mind that if i remember the SV data mines right only Calyrex is considered "Legendary" among the DLC "Mascot" mons so far, everyone else (Bears, Horses, Orange) are "Sub-Legendary" in the code, just a fun bit of trivia.

Regional dex is huge, distribution has been way better, removing mons from play makes others more valuable than they otherwise would have opening up interesting situations. Overall is just an improvement in every way, the only people who dislike it are compgays who don't want to rethink their meta, and autists who insist that there's a rule to follow and GF are breaking that rule and it bothers them like Sheldon not getting his spot on the couch.

For multi-player they can just ban Pokémon. For single player the dexcut limits both stronger and weaker options when the appeal of the game is options. There was always ways to make the game less fun by over optimizing and the dexcut doesn't help that.

This is just wrong though. There is no benefit. Games of the same generation can no longer play with each other. Intricate collection is ruined and transfer is completely pointless. Also battle facilities have less variety because their limited to the regional dex when before they had the benefit of being different from the campaign by expanding your roster of opponents.

I always said alola had the best regional dex and was severely underrated, not just for number but also for quality. But it's clear that when the nat dex is in, the regional dex is slim. There's more pokemon in the game on a technicality, but the actual number or really usable pokemon is slim, usually around 150-200. What was is since dexit?

The games are more alive and more full of pokemon than they literally ever have been before in any region.
You literally cannot count, XY has about 450 Pokemon. If you're going to say each of the three regional dexes in XY are counted separately, then why are you counting the four islands in SM as one? You're also disregarding games like Platinum, B2W2, and USUM that make some major changes to the Pokedex. I wouldn't count remakes, mostly because FRLG changes nothing, HGSS adds like what 5 Pokemon?, ORAS just kind of gives up at the end, and BDSP is bad. I can't believe I have to defend XY here, but no matter how I calculate it you're factually wrong.

I'd argue something like RS is more where a Pokemon game should be, although BW does make a case for ~150 Pokedexes being good. Of course, they had to frick it up twice with the filler filled experience of Gen 1 (cutting 40 Pokemon will do that) or the godawful DP Pokedex, so having more of a buffer is really preferable. I'd say ~200 is the more reasonable, that's also what GS is functionally like since they had to finish their homework at the last minute and didn't have time to balance some of the encounters (although Houndoom should have been a known quantity at that point, don't know what's up witht hat).
