they removed a few weapons, and they also removed like 70% of enemies from the stages, the original NG2 is an absolute onslaught of overwhelming enemy numbers and if youre not prepared for it you get destroyed, very difficult but very rewarding game, definitely to difficult for the general gamer population

They removed two shurikens that weren't really even that great and added two new weapons. Some trash mobs featuring the same exact enemy copy and pasted were removed. In sigma you actually fight mobs with variety and different enemies placed in them. I consider those changes to be huge improvements tbh.
The only shuriken removed was Windmill. Explosive was simply given to Ayane.

RE is the best
3's problems are 100% the result of poor game design decisions. RE adds a lot more content but it would not have been good if they did not specifically go back to correct all those poor decisions.
In any case vanilla 3 is irrelevant now, RE is the real third game in the series.

Sadly we never gonna get ninja gaiden again or anything like like it, i played the master collection on pc with kb+m with the help of vjoy and game feels more comfortable with kbm than controller
if you get pass the yellow room at the beginning, you can beat the rest at that difficulty
I recently got into this series. beat black and loved it, im playing II right now but I dont like it as much. the boss fights are pathetic and im not a fan of the locations either, 1 felt like an overall better experience. I also dont like how the combat in 2 is constantly interrupted by the cinematic limb cutting mechanic shit, we already had enough fancy combos, this was completely unnecessary

it works well against every single enemy and every boss, I never felt like I had to switch to something else to adapt to a certain enemy or area, its also a fun weapon and it makes sense for a ninja to use that instead of a giant sword or something else
it's natural for new players to gravitate towards a single weapon since there's so much to learn in the game. Like i said, steak IS delicious, i love the DS in all the games.
second game has the best DS moveset too.

3 is the best one (don't let anyone tell you otherwise). The gameplay is insanely fast and if you don't keep up you are toast.

The original enemy placements are trash and vanilla 2 is the easiest game in the series, so much so that it's scraping the border of what can be called Ninja Gaiden.
