it has become trendy for people to buy mini-Pc's and then hook them up to a 4090 through Thunderbolt 4. Literally the cheapest way to make or own a high-end PC in current year. You can do the same with laptops too as long as it has Thunderbolt 4.

why would it be any cheaper than buying and building or getting a prebuilt? it's the same parts except they had to do engineering to make it fit in a smaller one so i would think the mini pc would be more expensive

The catch is that's it's $1500 and not upgradable, good if you're rich or something then when the specs can no longer play the most recent demanding games you can just hide it behind a TV and use it as an emulation station

3060m at least is often even more powerful than a regular 3060 lol (it has mpre shading units clocked lower for higher efficiency)

No, it's not. Not only are my specs better, that thing is built out of laptop parts which always underperform. Also, enjoy your rig having to run on half power to avoid overheating with that shitty form factor.
My PC functions as a table. The cube can't do that no matter how good the graphics are.
