Sinnoh is unfixable. Even if you turned the game upside down and made them decent you would still have the most edgy and tryhard dex and worst cross-gen evolutions ever made
even Ambipom is better than Dudunsparce
the only thing more overrated than sinnoh is hoenn
This board sucks Hoenn's wiener harder than even Kanto
hoenn's greatness is tacitly assumed rather than shouted from rooftops like with johto and unova
and that assumption is wrong
I don't know why. It's the gen that ended my interest in pokemon as a kid. It's short, boring, and tedious. And once you're done with the elite 4 it's over unless you have emerald and enjoy the little playground dlc they added.
>It's short, boring, and tedious
so was GSC johtod
>the objectively longest pokemon game was short
anything else you say now is objectively dismissable.
the pokemon distribution is still garbage, they should have just removed swarms/pokeradar/dual slot exclusive encounters entirely and made them all just regular encounters, and also make honey trees trigger instantly, then the game would be drastically better.
restrictions are good for game derision design.
the 150 dp dex might have gone too far, but it is leaps and bounds better than the undesigned slop we've been getting since b2w2.
Ecology and being able to control the player's power > using all your favourites
utter moronation by an autist who cares about "world-building" over fun
The smaller dex unironically is fun. Playing around the restrictions was an interesting experience in DP. For example maybe you don't actually need a Fire type but just something with a Fire type move.
OP's wrong btw you can immediately get a Magmortar the second you can encounter Magmars and it definitely isn't available only at the 8th gym.
>maybe you don't actually need a Fire type
So?
Players should be able to use what's fun to them, not just what they "need".
You also talk about this newly found challenge as if you can't just steamroll the game with Dialga and Palkia.
Having access to a team with all sorts of types is more fun and balanced than the presence of those two.
Also by removing fire types they don't just take away your ability to build with them, but also the threat of opposing fire type trainers.
You can make a team with tons of fire weaknesses and it won't matter because the devs were too stupid to make a balanced dex.
>Players should be able to use what's fun to them
which is why every single pokemon ever created should be catchable on route 1
Every single Pokemon should be catchable.
So what's the point of having almost no fire types?
doesn't have much less accessible than any gen before it, not that I care at all. blaines gym is the same 3-4 pokemon over and over and gen 2s fire types are famously distant
>blaines gym is the same 3-4 pokemon over and over
In gen 1 you have access to Charmander, Vulpix, Flareon and Growlithe at the beginning of the game and Magmar and Ponyta later on.
In Gold and Silver you have similar selection but Magmar is available earlier.
In gen 4 if you didn't choose the fire starter you can have Ponyta and that's it.
Yeah so why doesn’t Blaine have a Charizard?
>So what's the point of having almost no fire types?
Making the player think for once if they don't go down the overleveled starter route.
Think about what? Without fire types you just have one less thing to worry about if you choose to only train one Pokemon.
Without Fire types the threat level of pokemon like Bronzong increases and Flint isn't any weaker because he has a Sunny Day Rapidash and an Infernape with a lot of coverage.
>threat level of pokemon like Bronzong increases
So undermining an entire chunk of the type chart for the sake of one Pokemon that only one trainer uses is good game design?
My god, you are DESPERATE to defend this game. I hope they pay you.
>Flint isn't any weaker because he has a Sunny Day Rapidash and an Infernape with a lot of coverage
He only uses those because they're the only options.
His team is more susceptible to fire type pressure than most, especially if he sets up sunny day for you. He's by far one of the most ridiculous elite four, only second to the bug guy before him.
>So undermining an entire chunk of the type chart for the sake of one Pokemon that only one trainer uses is good game design?
More than one trainer uses Bronzong but yes. Some challenge > No challenge.
>More than one trainer uses Bronzong
I don't remember any other than the psychic elite 4. Only some Galactic grunts use Bronzor, but by the time they start to appear you already have a fully evolved team.
you can make a team with a bunch of fire weaknesses in any pokemon game and win just by spamming the A button with some overleveled shitter
>Also by removing fire types they don't just take away your ability to build with them, but also the threat of opposing fire type trainers.
Monotype trainers hold back gameplay. Flint is one of the best Fire types simply because he doesn't fall for the monotype meme in DP.
Volkner’s great too
Magmortar is a trade evo. And if trading is on the table, then there are no actual restrictions anymore.
Unrelatedly, there is no playing around restrictions, because playing with anything is good enough to win.
you can have fun with pretty much any pokemon
the world feeling like it matters is way more important when the whole point of the games is to become the master of your own little world filled with interesting creatures
gen 4 > gen 8
sorry bdsmbabs
discord thread
>fixed sinnoh
nothing to fix
DP was the peak
>Skuntank is unavailable
>Purugly is unavailable
A third of my favorites are gone, why should I care?
The lack of fire types is by design, Sinnoh is a very cold region
in hoenn, you do only find Fire types by the volcano
which is bad because hoenn is hot. there should be more fire types.
If it’s so cold why does DP only have 2 or 3 Ice-types?
DP has one of best designed regional dexes. Every pokemon in DP serves a purpose, each one carefully chosen to be in Sinnoh for a reason, unlike every other game, including Platinum. The lesser games just mass dump pokemon into regions without thinking of how they would interact with their environment or each other, or they're like BW which doesn't even make any sense and just restricts old pokemon to postgame. Platinum is soulless slop made because little children couldn't handle proper region design. DP would have the best regional dex since RBY and GSC.
First we shall start with the new regional evolutions, many of them are postgame because these powerful and rare pokemon have been recently discovered and only the best trainers can use them. The regional dex is small because only certain pokemon can survive Sinnoh's environment, great worldbuilding ruined by Platinum, why would Tropius even be in Sinnoh? Even ice types like Glalie would have trouble surviving against pokemon like Abomasnow and Sneasel, once again raped by Platinum.
And god, the teambuilding. What sets Sinnoh trainers apart is how limited they are to the pokemon that survived Sinnoh's environment. It's incredible seeing how intelligent they had to be to compensate. Volkner and Flint changed what it meant to specialize in a type. Flint was the first fire specialist to reach the E4 when they're are only 2 fire types in Sinnoh! Absolutely incredible!
Tell me the purpose of Tropius.
HM slave
Bidoof is better at that. Especially if you evolve him.
What's the importance of Cricketot (a pokemon with no attacks you can only find in the morning, while its evolution is everywhere) for the region?
is Munchlax a key element of the game? And why is Carnivine, the american venus flytrap, found in northern Japan?
he literally just explained it, world building. crickets appear on the morning, baby bears are attracted to honey..
>crickets appear on the morning
Crickets can be found all day long but they're audible at night.
>baby bears are attracted to honey
Except for Munchlax, who literally never shows up.
Are you being dense on purpose
I never heard crickets in the morning in my life, and I live in the countryside.
Daily redditor seething at Sinnoh thread.
It fixed the game not running like absolute dogshit
I guess that doesn't matter for the zoomers playing the game at 300% speed at all times on an emulator
emulator speedup is the worst thing to ever happen to the pokemon community
It's funny, only reason people will say this game is good is either "Cynthia" or "it fixed Diamond and Pearl". Those aren't reasons.
it's good because it's the best region with a slightly less bullshit battle frontier than emerald
if you're about other things, that's fine
gen 4 factory is the hardest facility in mainline pokemon, it is omega based
>Chimchar
>Monferno
>Infernape
>Ponyta
>Rapidash
>Houndour
>Houndoom
>Numel
>Camerupt
>Magby
>Magmar
>Magmortar
>Flareon
>Oven Rotom
OP = moron
>listing every member of an evo line
>listing oven rotom who was not only event only but not even fire type in gen 4
that's 6 fire types.
i like platinum because of cynthia and it fixed dp

Why is the same thread made every single day. I'll bet by the exact same individual too.
We get it, Cynthia was too hard for you.
Move on.
the game is faster and there are a few more pokemon. I believe you get eevee, porygon, and togepi too
