This thing's design is really ugly and looks like shit. I don't see the appeal that makes so many people like it.

See, this is a good comparison. Kabutops has actually ok proportions and looks a lot cooler. Golisopod looks moronic and doesn't look like it should be able to support the weight on its upper body.

Kabutops is boring, especially compared to its prevo. Scyther does the blade bug execution so much more interesting in the same gen.

Wut? The b***h has toothpick legs and an oversized head.

Kabutops is the one with nonsensical proportions you moron, Golisopod's proportions are actually realistic to how that kind of body structure and physiology would work.

is he actually good to use ingame?

Golisopod's fantastic in-game, and it's even usable in competitive after you get past the initial hurdle of learning how to properly account for and use Emergency Exit.

Sounds like you’re moronic then. Not hard to see why a cool bug incorporating aspects of robotics and samurai armor would be appealing.

You sound more like a braindead moron if you think something is good just because of its concept when its execution is so embarrassingly terrible.

        Anonymous

The execution is amazing though, you’re the one trying to grasp onto the “””concept””” like a pseud when all I mentioned were details of the design itself.

Good thing Golisopod’s execution is good then, otherwise we would have been in some trouble.

Why is this literal isopod a bug type? Isopods aren't bugs.

arthropods are usually bug type, especially if they look more like a bug.

Why isn't Kingler a bug type

      Anonymous

"Bug" does not mean just insects.

        Anonymous

This or else the spider Pokemon wouldn't be bug type either

      Anonymous

I've heard plenty of people refer to isopods as bugs, people call the little ones pill bugs for a reason, spiders and scorpions aren't "bugs" either, they're arachnids not insects but spiders like Galvantula and Ariados and scorpions like Skorupi are bug type too. I think people only say that cause the giant isopod (Golisopod's real life inspiration) lives in the ocean and as soon as arthropods start living in the ocean no one considers them bugs anymore
