I believe you. But can you elaborate?
Merkabah was right.
I disagree it's worse than every mainline SMT. It has a nice story but mediocre SRPG gameplay and demon fusion
Better than all of them really. I want tbh used as a template for an actual smt x fire emblem game.
Yeah as an SRPG it's fairly lacking but the individual combats are solid and the fusion is better than half franchise. At the very least, IV's has the worst fusions due to how demons are all so samey.
1,2, and if are a chore to play so devil survivor of automatically better
Hit muh weak point just like all atlus garbage so not sure what's different
Gameplay was beyond ass but it's the only SMT with well written alignments. Yuzu constantly mentioning how sweaty she is, is a big plus too.
Yes, srpgs tend to be better than regular party based rpgs. Properly designed combat scenarios > millions of randomized trash encounters.
The combat in tbh is so low IQ, I'm not sure if I agree in this case.
I hate the music in this game, it sounds like music from a home depot commercial half the time and baby's first day in FL Studio the rest
It grows on you.
It sounds like a you problem, the music fits the world perfectly

What home depot ad did you watch?
The entire Babel stage is some of the most brutal shit I've played.
>run holy dance life drain build
>kill every single boss on turn 1, using just the MC
>only the final one survives my MC but then gets finished off by Atsuro of all people
Fun times.
It's objectively an undisputable 10/10 masterpiece.

It gave us best girl so I guess it has to be
It gets a lot of praise on Ganker, but I never really got into it. Not that I disliked it, I think it's a good game, but although it has much better variance in its routes than mainline SMT, I still didn't really care about the routes that much because I found the characters unengaging, and similarly, I though being able to choose what to do each hour was interesting at first, but I cared very little about what was actually going on so it didn't amount to much for me. I also don't like it mechanically as much as mainline SMT, no dungeons, Demon auction is worse than fusion, the SRPG combat isn't as fun as mainline combat or the combat in a lot of the spinoffs for me, it just didn't pull me in the way a lot of MegaTen games do. There's a lot about it that sounds great on paper, but despite what good points it has, it's a pretty middle of the pack Atlus game for me, but that's still pretty good.
how is auction "worse than" fusion when you do both?
I meant to say it's worse than negotiation.
Whie I can see you can dislike it, I do think negotiating can be hit and miss within the series.
Persona 5 negotiation is backwards asinine in that there's no real rhyme or reason.
It can be, but even at its worst, well I was going to say that even at its worst it's at least novel and interesting but that isn't really true, there are some games where it can be pretty tedious. Still, P5's would be an instance of it being inoffensive in my book and I prefer that to Demon Auction, which I just find boring and forgettable, so much so that I think I would have forgotten it was a thing in the game if not for it standing out to me because I was disappointed it was there and negotiation wasn't. Negotiation isn't always good, but in the games where it is good it can be really memorable and just seeing the dialogue can be its own reward even if you don't actually come away from the negotiation with the Demon you wanted. It's hard not to wish for something like that instead when you get something as dry as Demon Auction in its place.
>Persona 5 negotiation is backwards asinine in that there's no real rhyme or reason.
Same as every other mainline SMT. Actually better than stuff like SJ where, while it makes sense in a logical viewpoint that a chaos demon won't want to align with an order MC, it locks you out of a frickload of demons and make negotiation useless mid-late game.
Yuzu's milk
The game almost filtered me until I realized you can grab new skills from free battles and then flee.
Free Battles were a mistake, many people get filtered because they decided to grind and got bored.
I beat it a dozen times on overclocked but Midora is filtering me from replaying it again. I really can't stand having to deal with her every fricking time and not even having the option to kill her.
tbh 1 and 2 are just SMT and Persona if they were good series. Better stories, fusion, alignments, reactivity and social links.
Atlus could've just hired Yasuda to draw more antigravity breasts and make an easy piece of shovelware with good music, serviceable gameplay and a story that usually twists the Law-Neutral-Chaos formula of SMT.
Instead they made Soul Floppers 2.
Atlus doesn't deserve Yasuda and his happy boobs anymore.
Get this homosexual away from digimon. He is good but not good for Digimon.
Because it actually felt like a mainline game, unlike Nocturnev
I agree but having to grind freebattles to get all the skills sucks ass
See
>grind
more like
>enter fight
>use devil speed
>walk across entire map in a single turn to reach target enemy
>use holy dance once
>retreat
>enjoy new skill after one minute
Skills are less of an issue to getting enough macca to build your autistically busted demons, since majority of skills are useless aside from getting the NG+ points
it's better than all of them
