Kojima can't even make it as a TV sitcom writer much less a Hollywood movie writer or director. Metal Gear Solid 5 and Death Stranding show this guy has an obsession with Wikipedia info dumps over codec. His dialogue and delivery got worse after MGS3 and that's a fact. Hideo just has a cult of personality and Microsoft/Sony want some face to act like it gives gaming legitimacy with movies.
All I want for movies and Hollywood to frick off together with Hideo Kojima's rent celebs ""friends"". Geoff Keighly is such a fricking weirdo, 15 minute of his Game Awards time slot dedicated to rambling and more Hollywood rambling. So fricking tryhard to appeal to an audience of "damn, didn't think games could be movies" crowd in their heads.

Just look at Hirohiko Araki, the author of JoJo. Ever since the 80's, he read a random trivia somewhere and base a Stand Power on it.

That's because he didn't write the dialogue. He scribbled a rough plot outline on a napkin Which is the exact same for EVERY Metal gear game from the original NES-games to MGS3, and various ghost writers actually fleshed the story and dialogue out. MGS4 is the first game Kojima actually wrote the majority of himself, and it fricking shows.
Is infuriating how the videogame industry became bigger than Pedowood years ago (even like a decade ago)... yet many developers (individuals and even corporations itself) take Pedowood as something worth to access, even to throw away your videogame-industry wealth and/or renown.
The guy just desperately needs editing and reigning in. He’s like the video game equivalent to Stephen King, or M. Night Shyamalan, he has some excellent ideas and occasionally produces something brilliant, but everything he does is bogged down with layers of shit that you have to look past to enjoy his work.
It’s very obvious when you compare his stuff from 20+ years ago to today. When he is carefully supervised, he can make something great (MGS1-3) but when he has too much creative freedom, he makes things that have nuggets of greatness, buried in miles high piles of garbage (MGS4-5, Death Stranding).
It’s the opposite for me.
MGSV and Death Stranding feel like actual videogames. It’s like he learned from all his mistakes and started doing something actually fun and ambitious. Can’t wait for DS2.

The reason this is so stupid looking is because her eyes are not scared.
It's like smiling with just your mouth. It's a look of deceit.
If she wanted to actually be scared she'd be focusing on something with her eyes, having the pupils constrict and opening them wide as though something actually scary is eliciting her reaction.
This is bad acting, and bad direction. If the lighting on her eyes were reduced so there wasn't that glaring reflection, she'd be able to do far more with her reaction than just open mouth wide and raise eyebrows.
There's no way the glare in her eyes and strange facial expression aren't intentional, and I don't think the intention was just to make someone look really scared. It's supposed to be off putting and weird. If it were just a scared woman screaming, even if acted out very compellingly, I wouldn't really care too much. At the least, this is more memorable despite how stupid, weird, and funny it may look.

There is some disconnect in society that lets absolute pseuds in tech/computers/coding know absolutely nothing yet be praised for being "pioneers". In reality all they do is write checks and ultimately steal all their work from another company who actually did it. I think it has something to do with coming up with a bullshit job title/description and making it sound complex enough for the average knuckle dragging wage slave to think is warranted. That and a combo of rolling a 20 on marketing and charisma and harnessing a simp crowd that will shill the product forever just so they won't look stupid for buying it in the first place.
And it's always this fricking look. The "I was born a frickin robot please believe me" photo op they all have. Even Kojima uses this one excessively. They may be robots but that doesn't mean they know anything. It simply means they take orders or give them to other robots.

This is half of it. People's day to day routines are generally detached from producing the things they use. Example: people get food by making spreadsheets for money then going to a store rather than working land. This is close to uncle Ted's argument.

I'll disagree with everyone else and say that his games have actually gotten better with time. MGSV and DS are actually engaging as video games.
