Microtransactions. Had a cash shop in early access and I took one look and noped out. I’ll go play grim dawn or fricking Diablo 1 instead.

it's simply not a mainstream genre. most people don't even finish the campaign and that's still the primary attraction for them.

You can say that for any game.

There is no such thing. It's a spook made by ~~*marketers*~~ and ~~*publishers*~~.

It's also a shit game that is blatantly copying 'Diablo 2' without improving or moving its genre forward (Action-Looter). 'Path of Exile 2' seems to be quite decent so far and is the only one worth anticipating.

servers suck wiener. if you play online you load twice as long, if you actually play with other people in your party/lobby say goodbye to grinding efficiency, it’s like 4 times as long. i dont have a shitbox either, the moronic devs just refuse to fix the problem. that and they have autism and want to spread out their bare bones content across a thousand hours of playtime so there comes a point where you get a 1% gear upgrade after 50 hours of grinding

Absolutely no action RPG is worth any attention when it's just a loot treadmill.

      ARPG pro tip
Decide what unique gear is thematic and fluffy for your character, then cheat it in to a merchant. Buy it with gold like any other item. Now play the game and have fun without grinding for six gorillion hours.

Loot was a mistake. Turning every enemy into a pinata was the stupidest thing to ever happen to the genre. But, as usual, it was moronic autists driving it.

Remove random loot entirely and hand place all loot in the game world. There, I fixed it.

Enemies being able to "drop loot" that you can equip was the stupidest idea in games ever. what is this? some random critter dies and shits out mountains of gold, weapons and armors? The fricking gold! Everybody in every game seems to eat gold coins. Made for adhd bing bing wahoo freaks. Absolute garbage design.

I have seen exactly one game, some half-assed mmo called raiderz, where monsters can only "drop" materials (aka their body parts) which you then use to exchange items and/or craft custom gear. i assume that's inspired from monster hunter.

Like everything in this "genre" it all.gpes back to Diablo. Enemies in dibalo dropped gear because they were demons and you were literally picking gear off of demons to use in your fight. Titan Quest and Grim Yawn do it better wear enemies only drop equipment that they're physically wearing.

Dofus today works like that, you can't drop stuff from monsters, only materials.

Game is just super imbalanced. Some specialties are weak as shit and some are super powerful. Also builds can take forever to get online. Some require you to be almost level 40 before they really come online which is almost the end of the campaign. Just gives you no time to test before you have to jump into monoliths.

I'm still waiting to the campaign end (acts 10,11 and 12)

I heard it lacks endgame. I plan on getting it once that update happens. Hopefully before the year is out. I'm also going to try the new diablo update in May.

isn't this arpgtard speak for an endless treadmill?

The only thing it lacks is the end of the campaign. They've implemented their version of maps already so you can endlessly loot treadmill if you want.

I will define what endgame is to me.

        >Start Diablo 3 seasonal character
        >choose class
        >get endgame shopping list from icyveins
        >slowly gain set pieces and progress through harder difficulties with higher numbers
        >complete set
        >Start doing greater rifts to chase the uniques
        >fully complete set
        >push greater rifts in group finder at the highest lvl spamming keys for hours
        >with a stash full of legendaries and sets, either start a new character or quit until next season

this process takes anywhere from 80 - 120 hours. I enjoy it.

That's exactly what the endgame in LE is. You just have to level to 50 first. Monoliths are the equivalent of rifts. LE is actually better than D3 because you can get gear for other classes so you can twink gear between characters.

Absolutely trash broken servers on launch. Good gameplay, deeper than diablo and much simpler to get into than poe but way less interesting in the long run. Graphically outdated but nice to look at. Garbage unfinished campaign that suddenly stops right when it starts to pick up. Fricked up economy, having to choose between the bazaar and the observatory leads to a less interesting end game, being locked into only one way of progressing. It's also not f2p which obviously doesn't help for a game that doesn't have blizzard's name behind.
PoE2 instead looks extremelly promising, with great improvements to the genre.

    It's not fun.
The core gameplay is stale and boring. It has the same idea as D4, with a very limited action bar, where the goal is to tune every skill towards one single attack. All gear must also be tuned towards this single attack.
This results in an experience that quickly becomes tedious.
Equipment is boring and offers no variety since all your gear options are predetermined by the attack you chose. All the skill trees for your skills are boring and boil down to the same thing: take damage nodes and pick the one node that lets you tune the skill towards the attack you chose.
It's just not fun enough to keep playing.

All gear must also be tuned towards this single attack.

this is my biggest issue with the game, overly specialized items are just not fun

It's just a niche genre. I've heard overwhelmingly good things about LE, server shittery aside, and I've also been enjoying it.

All gear must also be tuned towards this single attack.

this is my biggest issue with the game, overly specialized items are just not fun

The single-skill focus thing is my issue with a lot of Diabloclones. It always ends up being boring. LE actually doesn't seem as bad about that as others have, like the aura-stacking that seemed rife in TQ and Grim Dawn when I tried those. At least in this I was able to make a melee Necromancer build that worked okay, even if it wasn't as good as just going pure summons.

its very boring. the monolith mechanic is really shitty and despite the crafting mechanic finding actual upgrades is so incredibly rare that all motivation goes out the window
in poe at least you get some currency but in this game everything you find is brutally worthless

such ugly, unheroic, unsexy characters. you can tell they hired buttholes who don't know what aesthetics are, as is typical in modern garbage. a bunch of monkeys are raging about SBI and ESG slop like it suddenly happened but the degeneracy that laid the foundations for this kind of shit starts poor physiognomy.

but since you're a westerner, if they can't make good games, that means they don't know what a good game is, therefore you can't tell if a game is good or bad, therefore you can't tell if westerners can make good games or not.

It's a neat game to play for a little while, problem is gamers hyping anything half decent into being the best of something or other. Often it seems like they're a bunch of braindead drug addicts who have no critical faculty when it comes to consuming new products.
