Remake barely expands on anything it could have like areas of Midgar that were inacessable in the original game. Instead they revisited areas you already played through (sewers) and turned everything into fetch quests.
Brief but impactful moments in the original game like the fall of the plate on Sector 7 and the escape from Shinra HQ have become drawn out and lose all the gravity of the situations that were presented.
Tifa has become bipolar, bossing around Cloud one minute and then becoming weepy and weak the next thirty.
